Preview for Episode 4 of Fondant Garden — 26 Comments

  1. This show is only Friday? Hmmm, It’s gonna a loooong summer!
Anyway, I like it! I’m new with tw drama, It was hard because of the language, but now I’m used to it. Their style is different from k-drama, it’s more open, light, and the kissing scenes are much better (I can’t stand the kisses of k-drama – 90% are too fake).

    • Lol yeah I agree, all the kdramas im watching at the mo have all been fail in that aspect. There’s very few that have realistic kissing and in one drama I just finished, the girl got pregnant yet had no skinship with the male lead whatsoever! No kiss, no peck, not even a bump of lips.
Though I remember a time when twdramas used to be like that, with very chaste kissing. Think it was around the time when They Kiss Again stepped it up with a bed scene, which kinda broke that barrier in twdrama land. Next thing you know Fated To Love You and every other drama after had a lot more action in the romance department! haha.

But anyway, cant wait for Ep4 of Fondant. Few hours to go. ^^ Im pretty happy for any of the relationships to go either way, all the pairings are adorable.

  2. Not quite friday night. But… it’s friday! 😀 So looking forward to this episode. I love this show. First show where I don’t not like anyone ^^

  3. Kingone is so charming in this drama! When will they ever have a drama with him as the main lead and not the second male lead?! He rightfully deserves a drama to shine!!

    • i know right.. I always wanted him to be the main lead since Devil Beside You days but not in this one either? 🙁 think he is more handsome than the other guy.

  4. ahh.. Real life what have you done to me. =P I am behind. I have not watch episode 3 yet. Koala unni, will you do at least a baby recap of the episodes. Pretty Please…. =D

      • Hee Hwan is such a friggin’ brat that it makes it hard to watch, being an entitled chaebol is one thing but he’s more like a spoilt 6 year old. And the way that the rest of the character’s bend to his tantrums is even worse – its so infuriating, HAN XIANG FTW.

  5. Taiwanese drama-wise, I’m only watching Skip Beat! and this. Honestly, I’m a little bit in love with the insanity that is Skip Beat! but that’s mainly because of my love for Siwon and Ivy, as well as the lovely friendship between Gong Xi and Qin (not enough of her in the show, to be honest). Because if I have to pick apart the plot, I’d probably have too much to say about the show, and not very nice things either.

As for Fondant Garden, I fell in love from the first episode! I don’t eager anticipate each episode but it’s so sweet and the plot actually makes sense! It’s also not over-the-top, and I quite like both guys for Mi En. I love the behind the scenes too because Park Jung Min is adorable with his Mandarin. And I always think his voice at the end of each preview where he speaks in Mandarin telling viewers to watch the next week’s episode is so so incredibly cute!

  6. Aw this is why I rather watch kdrama, twdrama only airs once a week. This bothers me a lot, don’t like waiting heheh >< anyway, thanks ockoala, but do you mind to include a link to the video when you have a video posted up cos I can't watch it from my tablet/ mobile. Dw if you prefer not to put it up. Thanks a lottt

    • sort of, they tend to film at least an early bulk of the drama ahead of time and complete the drama as it airs depending on audience response. But that also depends from drama to drama, it’s not always the case.

  7. My apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, but I don’t know where else to do so. I’d love to watch this drama, but I don’t understand Chinese. Where could I find English soft subs? Since my inet connection is slow, streaming really doesn’t work. Thank you.

  8. Is it just me or does Park Jung Min look like Johnny Depp from Charlie and the Charlie Factory? (And not in a good way). Every time he flashes those overly-white teeth and unnatural doll-eyes I strangle an impulse to shriek and run away to hide in small dark space. It certainly doesn’t help that he plays such an annoyingly bratty character. How the heck did Kingone lose out on the male lead to this guy?

  9. i read somewhere that Kingone’s role (Hanxiang) is one who is willing to sacrifice his love life in order to gain recognition from his father and grandmother, and the subsequent episodes will have him eventually giving up his relationship with Mi-en, thinking that as long as he gain recognition from his family, he will be happy. but he was wrong, from the time he decide to give up his relationship with Mi-en, his happiness left him too.. T-T

i prefer the pairing of Hanxiang and Mi-en. They are so sweet to the power of infinity! =)

    • I think it’s so unfair that Kingone is once again given the supposedly “bad” guy character who breaks the main girl’s heart. Obviously, that’s the only way they can get the audience to root against him because otherwise everyone would want him to end up with the girl. But if they just adjusted the story a teeny bit, he can be the main lead even with his current character. URRRRGGG!!!

  10. Koala it’s your fault that I started this drama. Now I’m hooked and i’m being tortured because they only air one episode a week.

I’m also rooting for Kingone to get the girl (unfortunately we all know that’s not going to happen because he’s not the main lead..sad).
