Love Before with Tiffany Hsu and Chris Wang Release Sweet Funny Teaser

I really shouldn’t have a problem with the popular pairing of Annie Chen and Chris Wang splitting up onscreen to pair with new actors in their respective upcoming TW-dramas. With that said, its impossible not to watch the trailer for Annie and George Hu‘s Love, Now followed by Chris and Tiffany Hsu‘s Love Before, and not feel like Ke Wei Xiang and Song Yi Jie (their characters from Inborn Pair) are totally cheating on each other. It’s like watching IP via the lens of The Fierce Wife, or something like that. This tends to happen in TW-drama land since the number of actors and actresses are significantly fewer than in K-ent or even J-ent. With that said, something must be in the water at SETTV because the teaser for Love Before looks adorable as well! First Love, Now gets me all excited, then Love Before ratchets up the excitement even more. I also think its funny that the English title of Love Before mirrors Love, Now, except the drama title in Chinese is translated literally as I Rented a Lover. Apparently in the story, Tiffany and Chris played a long-time couple with the girl being a commitment phobic on marriage. Chris insists they live together first, and to test his devotion to her, Tiffany hires a woman to tempt him. Or something like that. I hope what she did doesn’t come back and bite her in the arse, though drama karma says it will. The drama premieres in early November and Tiffany and Chris are starting to do the media rounds to drum up publicity. When asked if she was co-habiting with her long time boyfriend Ethan Ruan, who is off in military service, Tiffany admitted for the first time that they are pretty much living together and she believes strongly in it before even considering marriage. While I’m not the biggest fan of Tiffany, she’s consistently gotten better and I’m hoping this is her launching point to being a leading lady full time.

  4. It looks perfect! Except for the part where she narrates. Her narration voice grates on my nerves (which is odd because I have no problems with her voice in scenes).

  5. There’s also a 15 minute mini movie teaser that’s out. It was cute and i was wondering if its a micro-movie or something, now I know its actually a teaser for an actual drama. However, I am iffy about the synopsis..

    • Yeah, the 15 min mini movie is a prelude to the drama. It’s about how Tiffany and Chris’ characters met and fell for each other, because the drama starts with them in a long term relationship already. I thought the 15 min mini movie was good, giving a brief intro to the major characters. And it featured Chris’ new song!

  6. chris wang looks so cute in those glasses! and this is such a beautifully shot teaser, but then again settv previews have always been moody and beautiful for a while now.

  7. i was a bit skeptical about this drama because of some awkward pictures of these two, but that was cute : ) also, i’ve never heard of a storyline like that before…

    • likeable roles for Tiffany. She’s never rubbed off as pretty or cute or sweet to me which makes me wonder sometimes how she sealed a hot bf for years. Nevertheless am surprised the teaser n mini movie is well made. Looking fwd to returning to TWdramas soon since i’ve been pretty much full-timing kdramas tis yr.

  9. gosh I still didn’t see or find it through for these TWO together. Something about them so awkward. Even after all those teaser, poster, preview,media launcher.I see them all and still they didn’t seem to compatible,not cute together,and NO CHEMISTRY. I try to like them together,so I watch more of CHRIS. BUT NO CHEMISTRY AND NOT CUTE TOGETHER EITHER. AHHHH NOTHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. / I LOVE KWX and YJ IP ROCK .
