The Leads of In A Good Way Celebrate its Ratings Success and Spop Magazine Cover
I find myself heaving a sigh of relief that the red hot success of In A Good Way hasn’t affected both its casting chemistry or its story narrative. What’s happened so far with all the characters comes across as planned in advance rather than any wonky rewriting on the fly going on. This past weekend the cast gathered with over 700 excited fans at SETTV headquarters for a celebratory party as the two leads land the cover of the January 2014 issue of Spop Magazine. It’s not just Lego Lee and Kirsten Ren inside, there is also a separate spread devoted to Smile Wen and Jay Shih that is all sorts of cute as well. I honestly have no clue if any of the onscreen chemistry and offscreen flirting between the leads is indicative of any real life interest but they definitely make for great subjects for the camera to capture. The photos in Spop of Lego and Kirsten are beyond precious, each other vividly alive and uniquely their brand of teasing affection. Before the party began, Kirsten and Lego snapped a picture where she is behind him and holding him around the shoulder like in their cover photo except their positions are changed. They seem to be really enjoying this magazine spread as well and Lego revealed this was his first cover honor in his 8 years acting.
Good things come to those who wait and put in the hard work so now its time for Lego and Kirsten to enjoy the limelight. There is one little addendum I want to bring up about Liu Chuan and the 3631 switcheroo in episode 7. In episode 6 he tried twice to tell Jia En that he was 3631, the first time when he sent her the note and waited for her under the tree lane but had to leave to take care of the drunken Jacky and Ah Di, and later after their dance when he was walking her home and was about to confess when her parents showed up and cut him off. Those two instances slipped my mind during episode 7 when I couldn’t figure out why he was so cagey about meeting her, and then I realized that sometimes in life when the right moment passes by it becomes harder to do something and its a very normal reaction. I appreciate IAGW for letting its characters show their flaws and the bits of jealousy, confusion, uncertainty, and distress help build experience and character. I think Xiao Wei and Ri Qi will be fine and it’s not like those two were moving at anything more than snail pace to begin with. Ri Qi can solve his own conundrum since he agreed to pinch hit for Liu Chuan.
“530” is the numeric version of “I miss you” in Chinese texting lingo.
So much prettyyy! ^__^
S-POP must’ve been generous with the photo spread this time around. (; Seems like there are a lot more photos than usual in this issue!
That aside, I’m loving how Liu Chuan and Jia’en talk about 3631 in the third person. They know exactly whom they’re talking about, but the subtlety of their indirect conversations arguably leaves an even greater impact. Liu Chuan’s making a conscious decision to let Jia’en see a side to himself that he’s never shown anyone else, and Jia’en, ever so understanding of his vulnerability, doesn’t unnecessarily poke and pry at his personal life. I love 3631 and sky. ♥
Oh, I like the lying down one a lot.
No surprise, there, right?
Thanks for the pics and news!
Yes. As soon as I looked at him I thought, he’s got love eyes for her.
Me think so too. Love eyes or very good acting.
Me too! They look so sweet together. He’s definitely shooting eye sparks at her, as Rong Rong would put it. ^_^
This is the first drama ever where I’ve felt like shipping the OTP as an offscreen couple – they are quite ridiculously, implausibly cute and gorgeous together. Thank you so much for the photos. I hope there are more BTs’s to come, your recaps of them have really added a great deal to my enjoyment of the series too.
IKR? I’m usually not the shipping type either, but I doubt anyone could deny their chemistry. They’re different from the characters they play of course, but they’re still just as ridiculously likeable and adorable when together. They’re a dream OTP
that magazine is worth having! lol have no clue where to get it! love all the pics especially the couple shots..looks so naturally done…awww lego…he’s been in the biz and finally landed on the cover.RongYi bought deserve the popularity they are getting. They are playing their characters very well! Im so happy for them!
Try yesasia.com which ships to several countries worldwide.
do you know where to get it other than YesAsia? they ran out omgosh ;___; I want to buy ittt~~
Kristen’s nose is so adorable in the first pic haha, I never thought I’d say that about someone. Their chemistry is just fantastic right now. I actually didn’t like Ren Wei at first but now I find him extremely endearing in his pursuit of Bai Xue. Can’t wait for the next episode.
Yeah, I was slightly annoyed with Renwei at first—but now I absolutely adore him, romantic foolishness and all!
I’m usually never interested in buying drama merch, but this magazine *_* I WANT. I want BADLY. If only I lived in Taiwan, sigh…..
Can this cast get any cuter? If so, I’m not sure I will survive!
i just LOVE all the pictures, they are just so cute together!!!!!
Need Lego to dress better for events.
Dear @ocKoala, I found this gif online and thought you might like it, I hope this makes you squirm because of the cuteness as much as I did, you are now warned.
Hi Koala! I think Liu Chuan hesitated to reveal himself after he realized Jia En figured his father was a famous politician. He was decided to reveal himself in episode 6, but in the end, when Jia En said that she knows 3631 came from a political family, Liu Chuan hesitated because revealing himself will also reveal his secret.
When I first logged in, I thought, “Oh great Prime Minister and I update,” and then I happened to glance at the other link and I immediately felt (inside mind you) like a spazzing teenager and switched to : IN A GOOD WAY treats!?!?!?! I. Must. See. This. Now!!” I was so like that girl sitting with a friend from school and then the really cute guys shows up that she has a crush on, which leads to ditching that serviceable friend. I could look at pictures of them (and this cast) all day. The fan meeting (pictures below) was packed from what I can figure out using google translate. Yes. that is what it has come to. IAGW has me “dating” google translate.
I love them soooo much! On screen or off screen.
Just hope the drama will keep its awesomeness (Pursuit of Happiness disappointed me lately).
I haven’t watch a single episode yet, but all the reviews make me excited to watch it, after it’s completed. I did a wallpaper, hope you like it.

Lego Li is finally more recognised now! Liked him every since Honey & Clover and By2’s MV 🙂

By chance I switched on my TV and here I am glueing onto the channel of “in a good way” and I got hooked with each character playing different role. From the look of Liu Chuan or Lego Li he depicts the role in a good way just as he is. Serene, serious look and at times very cheeky and sensuous look. Jia Ern or Kirsten Ren role is just perfect to fit into the role in a good way. A charitable heart and I am sure in real life she is a kind hearted person. Always on the smile whoever she is with and I have to confessed Lego and Kirsten are just a right and perfect couple offscreen and on screen. Hopefully in real life they are couple. I wish that and for sure I will not miss every week the screening of the show ‘in a good way”
tried to buy the Disc but unfortunately since is currently screening not able to do so. I want to get the disc and I hope soon it will be in the market. Just can;t wait the final episode whereby Lego and Kirsten can become a married couple. Very well performed so natural. Kudo to both of you Lego and Kirsten
Hi! does anyone know where i can get this magazine? I live in the UK so preferably somewhere where it ships internationally! 🙂
