Nam Gyu Ri Films Guest Appearance with So Ji Sub on the Set of K-drama Terius Behind Me
K-actor So Ji Sub has always skewed older to me, even when he was just starting out there was this more mature vibe likely due to his looks and an aura of sensitive melancholy. That makes the pairing for his next drama Terius Behind Me with rising young actress Jung In Sun all that more incongruous, unless he plays the protective uncle next door type. It’s too bad his last drama Oh My Venus was so boring because it wasted the great pairing with him and his acting peer Shin Mina, even looking at the first stills from Terius with So Ji Sub next to guest starring actress Nam Gyu Ri makes me go ah heck nah. Nam Gyu Ri’s role here is a special appearance as So Ji Sub’s former girlfriend, and since he’s a former NIS agent I’ll assume she died because of him and that’s why he’s retired living in a random neighborhood only to come out of hiding to help uncover a conspiracy involving Jung In Sun’s disappeared husband.
I don’t find So Ji Sub’s looks and aura older than his real age on or off screen. On the contrary he gives quiet youthful yet calm vibe.
Cho Ji Woong is the good example of someone who appears older than actual age.
So Ji Sub has worked with younger actresses and he can pull off the big age gaps. Han Hyo Joo is 10 years his junior but they had great chemistry. Lee Yeon Hee was also much younger than him. He even worked with 15 years younger Kim Ji Won and didn’t look like her sugardaddy.
We even don’t know if there is a romantic relationship or not in the drama but Jung In Sun is quiet mature looking.
Charismatic, handsome, imperfect, deep, sexy, brooding and introverted all rolled into one So Ji Sub.
Love him!!!
He looked adorably young in Little House in the Forest when he was just walking around in sweats and his baseball hat all day. But I have to say that he does look aged in that above image.
To me So Ji Sub has the perfect looks; his eyes, his nose, his mouth, he is -to me- a man who can wear any style and I still would be attracted to him. Too bad he is not really a good actor (though surprisingly comedic when/if given the chance) nor he chooses good projects. I still can’t believe I have watched all of Cain and Abel!!!!!It is one of the worst dramas I have ever seen and if not for SJS I’d drop it at the second episode but no, because he is so pleasing to my eye, I actually watched the whole stupid thing. Normally I’d consider this behaviour shallow or something but So Ji Sub is my cryptonite ever since I have set my eyes on him (and his horrible hair) in MISA.
Some of his (older) stuff is truly awful as he learned in front of the camera, but in his movie ‘Always’ he is perfect in every single scene. One knows every second what he is feeling and thinking, he transports his inner world by moving his eye lid for a flicker. He is incredibly good in it, in fact I like most of his newer roles. E.g. ice cold killing machine or widower, I didn’t wish for another actor watching them. Him being the most beautiful man ever doesn’t hurt of course. 😉
