I’m so dating myself to immediately make the connection with paper dolls when I saw these new character stills for tvN drama Start-Up. Each lead is posed and around them are items connected with their likes/jobs/backgrounds. Totally paper dolls, like we cut then out and the cut the items out and then connect it to their hands or change their outfits lol. I do miss the simplicity and straightforward nature of old school toys, and maybe this will be an old school drama because the promos this far have been very staid and rather unoriginal. Leads Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Sun Ho, and Kang Hana haven’t shined yet in anything I’ve seen from the promos whether in teasers, posters, or stills, so they could be needing to elevate what is really a uneventful premise. That’s a bit of the carrying going on in another currently airing tvN drama Record of Youth, pretty boring story but elevated by onscreen charm.
