J-netizens Think Miura Haruma was Depressed Due to Bullying by J-dorama Director and Getting Swapped Out Last Minute in New Role Replaced by Fukushi Sota

Take this with a grain of salt but the undeniable reality is that recently deceased J-actor Miura Haruma was clearly depressed when he took his own life. Why could be a variety of factors, J-ent early on said Haruma dealt with pressure from his mom always needing financial support from him and also being a very sensitive soul in a shark infested industry. This week his passing is back in the news as J-netizens are staging an attack on Haruma’s director of the dorama Bloody Monday and his most recent posthumous work Love Begins When the Money Ends. Word is that Haruma had a tough time working with him a decade ago on Bloody Monday as he was relative new and had a lot of NGs, and the director yelled at him frequently on the set and even mockingly said he looked like monkey.

The same director helmed Love Begins which Haruma just finished filming before he died, and netizens after watching the dorama last month noticed that a monkey theme was used multiple times, including his character wearing a monkey shirt and carrying a monkey backpack. Netizens believe this was the director’s way of bullying Haruma again. Lastly, netizens also discovered the Haruma was cast in the recently airing dorama Diver: Special Infiltration Team with his same agency friend Nomura Shohei but was swapped out in the last minute with the role going to Fukushi Sato. Netizens believe this because Haruma’s second single from his recently released album was titled “Night Diver” and was reportedly supposed to be the theme song from the dorama. Sigh, hearing all this, if it’s true, just makes me even sadder for this talented young man.

  • As much as its natural for people to be curious of the reasons that lead to his unfortunate decision but I think they need to stop with all the unnecessary speculations. We will never know the real reasons because we're not him and we could never understand his struggles. Not only are speculations unnecessary, it can lead to unnecessary drama as well (by involving others and making it seem as if certain people are the root cause of his death, whether true or untrue).

Just let the man rest in peace.

    • That was my thought too. I have zero knowledge of the J- ent industry but speculations after someone passes on is disrespectful to the dead. Just write RIP message and go. His loved ones and fans would be in more pain if they have to read this type of stories about the man

  • Just let the man rest in peace. People are making assumptions which we don't know whether it's true or not.

  • Nah it’s bit more than that & he was far more than just a popular actor (Please research if you are interested.) He clearly left the message that his worst nightmare would be that if he ever be dead, people believe that it was his choice which he would never ever would. Won’t go into details here but this was quite a wake up call for Japanese.

    • Would appreciate it if you could get more into details.
It is very very difficult to research j-ent related news in English.

  • I think a thorough investigation into the actor's death needs to take place. I am sorry, I don't know the entire context nor do I know the works of this talented and respected actor because I am from India and I don't know much about Japanese movies. But back in my country, a very similar death has taken place. The actor's name is Sushant Singh Rajput. On 13th June, the news came that he hanged himself. However, there were a lot of things on the day of his death that did not add up including the cctv camera not working on the day of he died. Public of country waged a widespread protest against the Bollywood industry because it is filled with money-minded vultures, drug addicts, sexual predators, and shady connections. The case has now gone to our supreme investigation cell called the CBI and it is being said that it could be murder too. With this, a drug racket has been busted and several actors have been questioned/arrested and these are all A-listers. Many politicians also seem to be involved. As normal public, we are boycotting all movies released by the industry and disliking the trailers on youtube so that these stars, actors, and producers do not misuse their power again and exploit others the way did with Sushant. No suicide letter has been found in this case too. His fans can wage a protest and call for an investigation. If not murder, it could definitely be abatement to suicide. This is heartbreaking. He seems to be such a sensitive person and not greedy for fame and money. our Sushant too was like that. May their souls rest in peace. And may the truth come out.

    • Yes, Even Haruma death is fishy...I have seen Haruma work for a decade..undergone so many struggles and had a smile on his face. He was a responsible man..matured at a young age...If he had done suicide he would never have left his works incomplete...he was very upset when his agency did not allowed half a year leave to learn English as he wanted a break..still he came back and did his job...Moreover, this July, he was gaining his freedom as he was renewing his contract with A agency as his agency was not giving proper support to him...Latest News Haruma is reported missing from 17th July and last seen alive on 17th July...No one knows what happened in those scary 24 hours that led to the death of Harumakun...#JUSTICEFORHARUMA,#HARUMALIVESMATTER

  • even te call for reinvestigation from fans is suppressed by the powerful people of the A agency unlike what happened in India...In India, investigation was started immediately upon the outcry from fans...After Haruma's incident,I lost respect for the Japanese government...I pray all those who made Haruma sad will pay for their karma...
    #JUSTICEFORHARUMA,
    #HARUMALIVESMATTER ....

  • Greatly appreciated for your words MN and Heidi, not sure what we can do for finding the truth and how long would it takes to do but the thing is all the supporters won’t waste the death of this hero.

  • Yes Japanese government continues to make sure to keep nations to stay in 3S(screen, sports & sex). All the mass media are controlled by the government which is why Haruma’s death has not published clearly and kept unnaturally quiet. He did not choose to be dead. He was full of life before this crappy immature air-headed drama. No co-stars have come forward to prove it as of course you would not be the next Haruna.

  • You can't just let it go. If its suspicious, then its worth looking into. Even if its about bullying and not murder, its worth the discussion because its never ok to power trip.
