I’m getting more and more excited for MBN sageuk drama Bossam: Stealing Fate. KBS sageuk River Where the Moon Rises is done and there is no Joseon Exorcist that I was expecting, but I’m still in the sageuk state of mind so Bossom looks just tasty and perfect. Starring Jung Il Woo and Yuri, the drama gets out of the usual palace intrigue, birth secrets, and throne battle that most sageuks center around and takes us out to the average life of people living in the Joseon dynasty, including the tradition of “bossam” (wrapping up). It involves stealing a widow as a bride by wrapping her in a blanket and heaving her over the shoulder, with men earning a living doing bossom. Sometimes its kidnapping an unwilling woman, other times it’s agreed upon and the only way for the widow to get re-married otherwise she’s destined to be alone for life. Jung Il Woo’s degenerate bossam guy steals Yuri who happens to be a widowed princess and this cross paths is bound to be the fated destiny drama fans crave. I love Jung Il Woo’s perfect portrayed of the ne’er do well scoundrel, he captures that vibe so spot on even in posters where I’m with him in the same “Life sucks, I just don’t give a damn anymore” expression these days lol. The drama premieres on May 1 in the Sat-Sun slot.

I wasn't too keen about the bossam tradition but the trailer gives me hope about this drama, plus I like the supporting cast.
Jung Ilwoo always shine in sageuk and contrary to her image, Yuri unexpectedly looks so good in her sageuk attire.
