Park Sung Hoon Signs onto Kim Eun Sook Drama The Glory Joining Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, and Lim Ji Yeon
Screenwriter Kim Eun Sook typically does a drama every two years and it’s been that long since her last drama The King: Eternal Monarch in 2020. She is coming back this year with revenge melodrama The Glory, which is being split into 8-episode multi-seasons like Penthouse. The drama is set to start filming shortly and the casting train this added Park Sung Hoon to the team. He will be joining Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, and Lim Ji Yeon as the confirmed cast members so far. The drama is scheduled to air on Netflix so hopefully it will go as dark as the synopsis of a teacher taking revenge on her school day bullies by bullying their kids she is now teaching.
The plot still really sounds like the Japanese manga Ijimeru Aitsu Ga Waruinoka, Ijimerareta Boku ga Waruinoka?
I am having mixed feelings about LDH doing this drama, I worry this might not work workout once again but at the same time hoping that this will be the big breakthrough LDH needs. The casting has been nice though, apart from Song Hye Kyo who I can’t really stand, Lim Ji Yeon is a good actress and so is Park Sung Hoon.
I know Netflix likes dark storylines, but the “taking revenge by bullying the bullies’ kids” storyline rubs the wrong way. Not sure how they’re going to pull it off. People like watching revenge stories, but they usually draw the line at innocent bystanders and children.
The storylines, it just felt so wrong… I hope it is not like what I thought of… You need to have reasons for your revenge on someone. Regardless, revenge is actually all wrong, but we can’t help it if they cross the line.
The title should be “The never ending bullying” instead of the glory. The glory of the victim of the bullying and now a bully????
I dont think i can see SHK with any younger actor anymore.. hopefully there’s no love line. Lee dohyun should change his agent. 2022 and still with a noona?
I find the trend of rising actors having their noona romance phase so boring. Most of the time, the best chemistry comes from actors and actresses who are of similar age.
