C-drama The Demon Hunter’s Romance Starts Filming with Leads Allen Ren and Song Zu Er for 2023 Second Half Airing
The pictures above are not the costume looks for the two leads in the drama, it’s just to show their looks when put together from previous historical dramas. Allen Ren and Song Zu Er are filming in Hendian starting this week for their 2023 fantasy drama The Demon Hunter’s Romance, Chinese title 無憂渡 which translates to A Worry Free Passage or a Worry Free Ferry. Allen plays a mysterious demon hunter who is actually a black leopard demon himself and his romance with a human girl who has a demon heart inside of her. The story is billed as supernatural, horror, romance, and action and is adapted from a novel. I have never seen Song Zu Er in a drama but she got big thanks to Novoland: Eagle Flag and sibling drama The Bond so I’m curious to see if Allen will continue his streak of always having chemistry with any female lead lol.

It’s by the same writer that wrote the Blue Whisper which brought you back to cdramaland. So I’m guessing you may like this too. LBFnD is actually quite good. Soaring high very rapidly and the actors, director, cg, everything is getting praised. It’s quite addictive too.
I feel like Allen is in every other drama now. When you get to a point where you’re in too many dramas in one year then the audience will get tire of you. There has to be a fine line. He’s a good actor for sure. It’s the same with Zhao Lu Shi.
I’d agree if this was Kdrama but this is Cdrama and most of them don’t see the light of day for years. We might not see any of this confirmed or rumoured dramas for another 2-3 years. As far as I know he’s only had two actual releases this year and each very different. Not that I have any problems with an overdose of Allen Ren to be honest. He’s absolutely smouldering in everything. Man can have chemistry with a rock.
She has such a natural style of acting. Definitely a fave! She only really shines in dramas where she isn’t a damsel and has spunk. And she’s not the best fighter. Lol. I’m excited for this pairing. I hope they let a female lead match Allen Ren’s big, strong character/presence instead of making her a contrast.
