First Stills of Ha Ji Won and Kang Ha Neul for KBS Mon-Tues Drama Curtain Call
Wow, this one totally snuck up on me and in a good way! My summer of C-drama immersion has let me bypass the less interesting summer K-drama fare and get back in the swing of things heading into fall. I’m tentatively cautious about The Law Cafe, loving both leads is keeping me loyally watching with hopes the drama will get better. When that wraps in late October the Mon-Tues time slot on KBS will be airing Curtain Call (formerly Tree Dies While Standing) which got way more attention for the round robin of actors and actresses rumored to be the leads. The final pairing is of Ha Ji Won and Kang Ha Neul, with Kwon Sang Woo as the second male lead. The first official stills are out of the two leads and both look great in character for this drama and I love the picture tone used for the drama stills. She’s an hotel president and heiress and he’s the theater actor hired to pretend to be the long lost grandson of her grandmother’s left behind in North Korea son. It’s actually been a long time since K-dramas have done a fauxcest but there was a period when it was all about that starting from Autumn in My Heart to My Girl so maybe this one will refresh it for modern times.
Ha Ji won I am counting on you to bring a good drama. the director directed Bride of the Century which i loved. So i am hopeful. lets do this.
The thing is about Autumn in My Heart, in real world it’s more common sense for Joon-seo to develop feeling for Shin-ae rather than Eun-seo, because they don’t grow up together and there’s this thing called genetic attraction. But they already knew they’re sibling before the attraction happened. Joon-seo and Eun-seo though, it should be impossible for them to be attracted. There’s a research that states if you grow up with someone before 5 years old, the chance to grow feeling is almost never happens. I always suspect whether or not what they really had was truly romantic love.
Wow, never thought I’d see the day that Kwon Sang Woo is playing second lead lol
Anyway, HJW bad KHN looks great! Hopefully this will have an old school KDrama vibe
It has been a long time since I have watched an old school HJW drama. The last one that I really like was King 2 Hearts. I couldn’t get into Hospital Ship, the Time drama with Lee Jin Wook and Chocolate. Hope this one is good coz I really like KHN. I love a young HJW with KSW in the movie where he played a Catholic priest and she a recalcitrant young lady in need of reformation.
I’m so happy with this news! I love both actors. But I never could finish a KHN’s dramas when he was a lead >_<
KHN is a great actor, but he has no charisma to be ML in dramas. I think he doesn’t draw viewers in. It seems like GDS is the actual main here, and the rest of the actors are an ensemble.
Its been awhile to catch HJW in a drama since Chocolate.
I wish KSW is the male lead though.
