jTBC must be thanking their lucky stars that the start of its promos for upcoming sports and police procedural drama Good Boy coincidences with the Paris Olympics, what with the leads all being Olympic gold medalists turned cops. The first drama stills are out showing Park Bo Gum in action and winning his boxing gold medal and also Kim So Hyun as a sharpshooter in competition. Both look so good and believable in their roles, it helps that Park Bo Gum is rocking some serious back muscles and biceps for this role. Never thought my Taek could go from genius Go player to top boxer but in the world of acting all it takes is the right actor and the arrival of new roles.
Ma boy and ma girl! Please be good!! I know they’re gonna work their acting magic, but please come through, story!
In case anyone is still curious about OTT platform the drama is confirmed to air on Prime Video. Once again the theory about Netflix blacklist KSH is proven true. Every PBG drama and movie has been picked up by Netflix and they would never dare to reject this combination of writer, director and actor if not for KSH. I would however praise the drama, casts and production crew for agreeing to work with KSH despite knowing they would miss out on Netflix. Glad they have faith in her despite it all.
The link below is an official PR document by SLL the production house for JTBC. It confirms Prime Video. The only Sat-Sun drama from JTBC to not go to Netflix.

Hmmm… I think Netflix not stupid enough because something like that.
I think it still not sure if Prime will be their fix OTT, several days ago it said Disney+. When they recruit the support cast, they also mention it will be Netflix.
So if the official news isnt come yet, i will not fully believe it 🤗
Thanks @Meme Prime is a surprise! I don’t think most people even factored that in the platform considerations. What is going on with KSH and Netfix? Very interesting to read that report too from a business perspective. It gives a lot of insight into the K-drama/film industry.
@Meme, why does Netflix blacklist KSH? Netflix has had plenty of flops with actors such as Song Kang who can’t act. LOL.
That is baseless. KSH still have a lot of shows in Netflix. Also, it will be a big issue in Korea if that is true. And if that is true, no production companies will ever offer jobs to KSH. Also, most production companies are hesitant in selling their shows to Netflix because the offering price is very low as compared to other platforms.
There’s a whole bunch of comments in this thread that are frankly eyeball rolling, but the way THIS particular comment is forcefully put forth as if it is true while being so inaccurate just deeply annoys me.
1) JTBC and Netflix signed a multi-year distribution deal in 2021 and that has evidently come to an end. Back then, JTBC was the up and comer against tVn and this worked in their favour for international distribution and presence. However, as mentioned, Netflix will lowball broadcast companies if possible so it’s totally fair for JTBC to explore other distributors.
2) Prime Video recently announced that they were upping their investment significantly into the platform with an eye to diversify their content offerings to be more global and to cater to wider demographics including the younger audiences. This drama has 2 young leads with international bases, a strong ensemble cast, a very on trend premise (Olympics!) and has both comedy and romance.
3) Good Boy is JTBC’s tentpole drama for the 2nd half of the year. It makes total sense for them to shop this around and sell it to the highest bidder. Business is business, whatever makes them money and profits is what is going to happen.
@Meme, if you want to be a hater and spout nonsense as “truth”, please at least put in some effort. Your comment shows a complete lack of research, even less critical thought and a poor understanding of the industry.
PBG has always come across as a really lovely person; and I’m sure that he would not condone tearing down his costars with conspiracy theories to build him up as something that is ok to do. Do better. Be better.
@AIIG: You make lot of sensible and relevant points about the business and finance side. I do find it very hard to believe that Netflix has beef with KSH of all people as that would make her practically unemployable. Maybe it’s just coincidence that she hasn’t had any NF projects
@AllG I agree with @Sunny, your comment is very sensible and I admit I haven’t thought of that. You brought up really good points. I usually don’t accuse people of being a hater, but @Meme’s wording didn’t sit right with me right off the bat, and it sounded off to me. Her sentence, “Every PBG drama and movie had been picked up by Netflix and they would never dare to reject this combination of writer, director and actor if not for KSH”, emphasis on “if not for KSH”, the wording sounds like she wants people, especially PBG fans, to blame KSH that their fave’s drama won’t be on Netflix. Yeah, she’s probably a hater who wants PBG fans and other cast members’ fans to hate on KSH. Thanks for bringing a new perspective about this whole Netlix blacklisting issue
@AIIG, I enjoy reading the kind of information/analysis you provided, It makes a lot more sense than other fictional speculations.
I’ve been watching the dramas of both PBG and KSH lately. I can’t fathom anyone of these two would be blacklisted by any streaming platforms. It’s just nonsensical from business perspectives. All the management and investors want to make money. Why is Netflix an exception? LOL.
I seriously – seriously, seriously – want to sweep those bangs off her forehead, and particularly her eyes LOL.
Other than that, it looks really good! I hope the script is strong too. A good sports drama can really bring in the feels, but can also fall so flat that its plain boring.
Look when KSH goes without bangs she gets major criticism for her looks in South Korea. Even her so called bangles looks all come with side swept bags. They accept HGI but hate on KSH. Her pre IMY days many people called her ugly. If she feels more confident with bangs then let it go. You’ll never see her experiment with other styles because she doesn’t think those styles look good on her. If this is what makes her happy then this is what everyone as fans needs to get used to and accept. Why would you want her to get called out for being ugly? She doesn’t need that added stress in her life.
She used to get hate comments from antis but I have not heard any kind of criticism from Korea for her bangless look. KSH had bangless look in RWTMR and Love alarm in recent times and I haven’t seen any such article regarding criticism for her bangless hairstyle from Korea.
She likes her bangs. Why do you decide how she styles her hair.
As a KSH fan, chill lol, it’s just an opinion. I’m KSH fan too, but we can have her opinions about her look too. Just because we state our opinion doesn’t mean we’re forcing her to do something she doesn’t want to. She doesn’t even know this blog or everyone here exist lol
If others can actually decide on her hair style, they would have asked for those bangs to be chopped off her forehead years ago. Just go read the previous post on this drama to know. Alas, none of us do decide. Curious, why do fans having an opinion on her hairstyle for a drama seem to be a problem to YOU?
@monks, I don’t see any problem with you asking a legit question. Why did ppl have problems with you asking why there’re problems with her hair styles? The problem is there are no problems. Much ado! LOL.
Same thoughts, I’m absolutely STOKED about everything in this drama— the stellar cast (KSH and PBG is one dream pairing lol), the plot, the PD, writer, etc. EXCEPT KSH’s hair lol. I know, it’s such a silly thing to care about, but I just wish she had a different hairstyle from her previous two dramas, because she’s starting to be like PMY who has looked the same in her recent dramas since WTWSK. I know her character is labeled a “shooting goddess” who’s known for her beauty so they want to emphasize her beauty even more (though she’s obviously already very beautiful) and they don’t want her to look too rugged, but they could’ve gone for curtain bangs, side bangs, just anything other than the full bangs 😑
She had her hair pulled back in RWTMR and she looked majestic. She should do that more often. I liked her hair in the school flashback scene in My Lovely Liar too. But anyway, can’t wait for this drama nonetheless!
Same here. The character’s nickname is “shooting goddess” but it’s as if KSH just took off her school uniform from Serendipity then donned an Olympic shooter’s attire and grabbed a rifle for Good Boy all in one go. Even in the 7th photo where she adjusts her bun, her previous character is still evident. Sometimes the distinction among an actor’s roles won’t rely on acting skills alone, there have to be changes in the styling (especially when the role requires a certain level of aura and visuals) or else the actor can come across as repetitive at some point. On the other hand, PBG had impressive and goosebumps-inducing still cuts as well as LSY whose photos just got released today.

Almost finished Record of Youth, I think I’m becoming a fan of PBG. ROY appeared to be a great fan service with all the merits and charm of PBG in display as an actor. LOL. People whined about RoY being a dud perhaps mainly due to lack of romance. I fast forwarded and skipped the most part of school romance in Lovely Runner, but amazingly I have not skipped one single scene of RoY given how many storylines fell so flat with bland acting from the FL, Park So Dam, and her tepid chemistry with PBG.
I can foresee PBG to nail this role in Good Boy if there is enough story development revolving around him as in RoY.
I think the problem wasn’t the lack of romance, it was that the romance was lacking lol! If the drama had dropped their boring couple scenes, they had remained friends and developed PSD’s storyline more so she had something to do in the second half besides be a miserable girlfriend the drama would have had a better reception.
PBG is really good in the drama apart from the dull couple scenes where he just seems to be going through the motions.
I can’t disagree with fans’ complaints about PSD’s acting. She is weird for both her character and acting. She appeared to me not into that romantic relationship and her said infatuation for PBG’s character (her idol) came so involuntary. She’s as stale as flat soda sitting open in the air for too long. And her sleepy eyes made me bored even more. LOL.
I even wonder if she had any tension with PBG in real life. LOL. She looked kinda tense, not relaxed, in those scenes with PBG. Perhaps she is good in other dramas, definitely not this one. I can’t give her any credits.
@Somebody: LOL at your detailed descriptions of PSD’s dull performance but I agree she was so flat. Unfortunately, it didn’t leave a good impression of her as an actress. A very disappointing follow-up to her performance in Parasite.
@Sunny, I was disappointed at PSD cos I did hear positive comments about her. But her acting throughout the entire drama just showed otherwise. RoY is the only drama of hers I’ve ever watched though.
Perhaps I should watch critically acclaimed Parasite to change my opinion about her. LOL.
I hope there will be something meaningfull with her bang, because i see none of these shooter atlet have bang. Even if they have it they will use hairpin/headband.
Something like… She will clip her hair when she got serious, etc.
Whatever, i just hope this drama will success and and her character will love by many viewer.
And after GB i hope she will stop doing romance drama for a while. Because i really bother with people who said she always do the same character again and again. They forget all her different character, even her recent character in MLL and SE is different.
All the best for her and happy 16th debut anniversary, Sohyun.
Her bangs make her comfortable so let it go. Nobody is forcing this look on her. Don’t forget she has a strong insecurity about her forehead and has often received criticism from Korean about her “ugly” forehead. It doesn’t fit their beauty standards and if KSH wants to conform to their beauty standards then let her. Even KNY and JJH never ever experiment with their hairstyles. Some people are more comfortable that way so let it go.
It’s funny you mention her forehead not fitting Korean beauty standards when Korean celebrities are getting forehead implants to get a rounded forehead like hers for that Barbie-like side profile lol. Most Koreans have a flat forehead naturally while KSH naturally has that dome-like forehead that Koreans like so much. I mentioned this on another comment but her forehead really was only big when she was a kid and a teenager (children’s faces usually have larger foreheads with their features concentrated in the lower part of their faces). But over the years, it has become proportional to her face and its size really isn’t an issue any more. She’s also been praised by Koreans for her visuals during her appearances without bangs (red carpet appearances, airport pics, etc.), so I think it goes without saying Koreans don’t find it “ugly” anymore. But it’s understandable if she has developed an insecurity over it. I myself is still insecure because of certain comments I received on my looks as a child
Yup, people only remember her more mainstream romance dramas, sadly. But the fact is she already did a variety of genres: family (Suspicious Housekeeper),thriller (Reset and Nightmare High), melodrama (We All Cry Differently, Missing You, etc.), fantasy (Goblin), horror-comedy (Bring it on Ghost), non-romance sageuk (The Last Princess), a more serious sageuk (River Where the Moon Rises), etc.
I too wish that moving forward, she’ll avoid or at least choose minimal romance dramas after GB, just to remind everyone of her versatility. Purely romance dramas bring her nothing but hate. Until now, I still can’t believe that she got hate just because her character chose a male lead over the fan favorite one 🤦♀️
One comment on another article in this site pointed out that Kim Go Eun is making smart decisions of choosing mostly female-centric dramas so she’s free from fan wars and silly shipping wars. I agree and I wish KSH would do the same. Maybe she’ll find her niche in action-oriented dramas, ala Ha Ji Won? I don’t know, but she definitely should explore more genres as a lead actress. Hope to see her in something like The Glory soon. Female Gen Z drama watchers, especially, like seeing actresses choose female-centric dramas, so I’m sure doing so will boost her popularity with the younger gen
Why do people keep talking about her taking more diverse genres or stop doing romance as if she has a choice. Do you honestly believe prestige projects or action/ thriller genres are even being offered to her and she is purposely choosing romance? She was on a 2 year break and only got offered two romance drama in that time. Her upcoming drama with PBG is the only time she was offered a truly different role and it’s surprising that she did but let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth. It’s most likely she won’t have much screen time in her upcoming drama as PBG is the main star and all the characters revolve around which I’m sure KSH fans will crib about again. Romance dramas are also female centric but her most well received drama till now is TTON means that people like KSH more as a support to the male lead. RWTMR has such a small audience base it’s laughable and NIw got the most recognition and praise for it. His popularity in Japan comes primary from this drama and later from MMH. If you really want to examine since when KSH has been getting hate then it started all the way back in 2017 with RMTM and LA just exposed her to a much bigger audience base who hated her acting style or looks or for not choosing the male lead. Even if KSH does somehow manage to land a female centric thriller role it is highly likely people will still dislike her and her acting. Once someone’s mind is made it won’t change much. You just have to accept that KSH will never be the KTR or KGE level of popular and beloved nor will she ever get offered the type of scripts that they do. Learn to just ignore the haters and continue to enjoy watching her in whatever role she does. People who don’t like her never will and in her case this happens to be a large majority of people who just don’t vibe with her. Let it be and enjoy her acting in peace. I’m just glad she’s still getting drama offers whatever they might be. In this industry people can always get wiped out over night. Look at HJW once the most sought after actress and now all she has is flops and barely gets acting offers and none of them are prestige roles.
I think knetz itself also surprise with versatility of her filmografi and she still young but never fail to nail her role. They also talk about her chemistry with every actor she work with.
She just need good script and right project to elevated her status, like PEB. So she can get better script for her future project.
It actually hard for me to like an actress/actor (other than their work) because i think it only their work image, except Sohyun. Maybe it also her work image, but it still amazing for her to maintain her image without any scandal for 16yrs.
From several staff she also know for her good attitude, even a reporter in my country also said she so polite when he got a chance to interview her.
That why i always rooting for her success ❤️
She also want to became comfort actress and acting until get old with her viewer. Haha, her word make me looking forward for the future when i think this world is stresful enough.
Same, I rarely stan actors and actresses but there’s something special about So Hyun lol. Obviously, we don’t know celebrities’ real personality, but anyone who worked with her had nothing but praise for her good personality, saying things like she makes the set brighter and more energetic because she’s always smiling despite her hectic schedule. A lot of rookie actors said they also learned a lot from her when it comes to acting even tho she’s younger than them. And yes she’s a very versatile actress. Even as a kid, she already played a villain role, only to switch seamlessly to playing innocent-looking young versions of adult lead actresses. Shame new kdrama watchers mostly just know her for her romance dramas. They should explore her filmography first before saying that she only play the same roles 😑
Finally looking like PBG has a potential win on his hands after a long string of duds dating pre-military days. He hasn’t had a good drama since Moonlight but this might be it! He so looks the part!
KSH on the other hand… I love her but it’s hard to take her seriously in these stills when her hair is covering parts of her eyes while she SHOOTS a target as an OLYMPIC athlete. Why is she not at least wearing a head band tennis players style? Like how does this look make any practical sense for her role? Good. God. 🤦🏼♀️
My girl looks really cool! (although I’m not a fan of the bangs, as most everyone here). She really nails this type of roles, just look at that fierce look in her eyes! Wish she takes more roles like this. First time seeing PBG looking like this too, unlike his usual clean, pretty boy look. Everything about this drama feels fresh and exciting so far. Hope it meets my expectations! Excited to see Lee Sang Yi too
The marketing team for this drama are good! They were waiting for the Olympics to promote the drama
I was lamenting in the previous post that it doesn’t look like PBG has made any changes to his pretty visuals to fit the role of a boxer so I am pleasantly surprised by these stills as he definitely looks a lot more rough and rugged. I hope he maintains it for the drama.
I am so effing tired of those full bangs/fringe on KSH. Feels like she has the same hair in every drama and they are particularly egregious for an Olympic shooter. No female shooter is going to compete with those nonsense things hanging around their eyes and face. If you look at the Olympic shooters in Paris they all wear hair clips, headbands, part their hair to the side or wear visors/hats to make sure their hair is out of their face. Heck, look at all the other competitors next to KSH in the picture and you can see how out of place her hair looks.
People who stan Kim SoHyun or claim to be her fans should just accept the fact that she won’t ever change her hair. This is most probably her favourite look and she’s hell bent on not looking unattractive on camera. This is her maximum capacity. We have to accept it.
But she’s in NO WAY unattractive without bangs, so I don’t understand why you said she’s “hell bent on not looking unattractive on camera.” If anything, she’s like 100x more beautiful without bangs (for anyone who don’t believe me, feel free to check her out in Love Alarm season 1, River Where the Moon Rises, her Samsung Securities CF, and her cameo appearance in the ending scene of While You Were Sleeping- she had no bangs in those and she looked much more beautiful and her face looked much brighter). About the bangs probably being her favorite hairstyle, yeah, that’s a valid point lol.
For the record, I don’t want her to do anything she doesn’t want to or feel pressured by fans or anything, just sharing my opinion here because it’s not like she’ll read our discussion here anyway lol
I am gonna sound like a hater but KSH seriously need to let go of that bangs for some time. It specially does not make sense for this drama since she is playing a shooter and those bangs are gonna distract while shooting. It’s good that she is choosing non romance drama this time and I hope she does for a few years.
She needs to stay far from romance drama for some year. I had a lot more expectation for SE drama but the execution of this drama is letting me down. Her last MLL drama was a huge dissapointment too. In both these drama, she does not have much to do. Her last drama before this which was RWTMR was also a disappointment because of the writing.
I really hope the writing in good boy is better and she has scope to show her acting talent.
Some people whined about Serendipity’s Embrace. I love that drama so far with 4 eps. KSH is so cute in every moment with Chae Jong Hyeop together. It rarely happened to me about anything linked to school romance cos I easily get bored of teen dramas.
Woohoo! I just binged and wrapped up Record of Youth before coming up here. I’d never liked PBG before except for his visuals. LOL. He impressed me in RoY nonetheless even this drama had one of the most boring love stories in the Kdrama history. I had a fun time watching him being thuggish and violent. I fell in love with his acting as a mafia. LOL. Hopefully he reprised similar action scenes in Good Boy. I’m sure I’d have a blast. LOL
As much as I like seeing KSH in non-romance dramas, I’m loving SE as well! Don’t get what the complaints are about, but eh, just different tastes, I guess? The kiss scene was so heart-fluttering and I love the beach scene too. I love that Hong Joo’s best friend was supportive of Hong Joo and Hoo Young even tho she likes him. The ex was just kind of annoying tho, I really don’t care about his sob story, he still left her and had the nerve to say “We didn’t break up”? Lol.
But yeah, I’m loving everything about the drama, from the cozy, autumny backdrop to the OST.
They have such cute chemistry that I wouldn’t be surprised if they dated in real life. OK, I’m talking like a CP shipper that I usually decry. LMAO. I feel that Chae Jong-hyeop was into KSH very much in SE. I was fond of CJH in Castaway Diva perhaps due to his ML halo. LOL. But I didn’t see strong chemistry between him and my fave Park Eun-bin in CD.
Well just my speculation. Sometimes I did see actors had stronger chemistry with their FLs cos the women were prettier. LOL. All hail to KSH’s visuals! 😉
@Somebody @Summertime Totally agree with everything you both said!
@Somebody I too am usually not a shipper for drama couples but I would be a liar if I say I didn’t blush and giggle like a fool watching while KSH and CJH interact in real life lol. They’re one of the cutest KDrama couples in recent years for me and are totally believable as a couple!
I’m back to rave about the fluttery kisses in the new eps. I don’t recall I’ve ever been the one for hot sizzling scenes. But these two kids’ intimate scenes made this married ajumma with kids render a lot of imagination in her head. LMAO.
@Nelly, you’re right! They are totally believable as a couple…..in honeymoon mode. LOL.
Their hairstyles are a bit turn off to me. Boxers and sharpshooters don’t have hairstyles that can get in their eyes and hinder the view.
It’s such detail for sportsmens that can be easily fixed by stylist.
Just take your bangs off while shooting with KSH and style your hair differently with PBG, it’s easy and will make athletes look like athletes in the drama about athletes with olympic medals.
Korea obsession with bangs it’s another level
For now, the title sounds a little bit Park Bo-Gum and the others… i hope there will be an explanation because there are other athelets and Kim So-Hyun is the FL.
You’re most likely gonna be proven right because the drama will revolve around PBG entirely. The whole plot has been written in a way that all the characters connect back to him and the drama is HIS journey and HIS growth. Its basically the comedy cop version of ROY. I would strongly advise fans of the other actors and especially KSH fans to be prepared that she will not be anything more than plot device and to not be upset if her screentime is very small. Basically people should watch this for a fresh take on PBG and SNY being the director will do magic for his career. I expect him to get a Baeksang nomination for Best Actor for this one and obviously OJS will land another Best Supporting Actor role which he might once again win.
🤣🤣
Ooooh, @bonbons already saw the drama apparently. We even have a Baeksang expectation where oppar gets nominated along with a supporting actor nomination. Meanwhile the female lead is nowhere in sight because “she has very small screen time” LMFAO.
And you got all this because of the title? Ever heard of MR Sunshine? KTR was the female lead in that drama, and she had a LOT of screen time. How about Eternal KING, KGE had lots of screen time too! Oh, and what about Innocent MAN? MCW was a huge star there. Goblin, My Demon, Crowned Clown, anyone? I could go on, really. KSH fans arent the ones at risk of being disappointed. You really should be very worried about yourself lol.
LOL. I hope your prophesy comes true! @bonons. I don’t mind if the plot all evolves around PBG after watching him in ROY. He’s great in ROY even the love lines are as tasteless as tap water. LOL. But I doubt that would happen since KSH is a pretty girl who can act. I guess PBG will have better chemistry with pretty actresses.
The weak chemistry between PBG and his FL in Record of Youth wasn’t the result of little screen time of FL but FL’s acting wasn’t convincing. I think KSH is a better actress than PSD.
I read all the comments here and its all about bangs of kimsohyun lol,btw i think so maybe she’s just change her hairstyle but maybe she’s just comfortable with her bangs eversince she was a kid, lets just support her, their upcoming series. A i like all the cast, can’t wait
Everyone! Just chill guys! its just a series only and maybe she is the one who has a unique personality with the character of the goddess shooter with bangs and whats wrong with that. and if shes comfortable with her bangs let it be. Lets just support their upcoming series, we don’t know yet everything its stillcuts.
Lol I think some PBG fans are willing for this drama to be their guy’s runway show because they know there is zero chance of that happening in the drama he is doing with IU. She’ll be the star there. But it aint happening here either as KSH is a very strong actress who is equally popular and fully capable of carrying her weight.
KSH has worked with the writer previously and it was the only work of the writer I liked. Chief of Staff was so BLA and I dropped Life on Mars early on. Lets see how this goes.
I don’t think drama will revolve around IU. Synopsis sound like she’s a centric main lead, but in previous drama writer gave equal screen time and the plot development for both leads, and both of them shined, were funny and remarkable there.
it’s more like KSH stans are somehow already angry with PBG/his fans in advance because KSH is nowhere as popular as him and this drama probably won’t change a thing for her.
Yeah? Because @Dee was referring to someone’s very pointed and deliberate comment. I see another commenter up top claiming something very similar. Which KSH stan are you speaking of? I see none of hers bringing down PBG here.
To be blunt, both these actors have had a slew of flops for the past many years. Both have had their careers on standstill too so they both need this drama to work. Instead of you guys arguing amongst each other, I suggest hoping for the best.
L O L
Hate to break it to ya, but both of them are equally unpopular today. This is 2024, not 2017. PBG has not had a successful drama or movie or variety show this entire this decade. Since you are expecting this drama to not change things for KSH, it won’t be changing things for PBG either.
please read back in the comments. literally NO ONE mentioned anything about male-centric this, female-centric that, until bonbons predicted this is going to be pbg’s show apparently and that fans of KSH and the other cast should curb their excitement or whatever. and then it’s ksh fans’ fault? what? us ksh fans are too busy complaining about her bangs, it’s the pbg fan (or someone pretending to be a pbg fan to hate on ksh, i’m not sure) bonbons who started all the male-centric conversation lol
Why you pit each other like this?? Most good drama i watch is where all the cast give their best together and they character have their own merit, not just one person show. I believe the writer and PD can show each character charm. PBG, KSH, LSY, OJS and other Avengers cast too.
I didnt want GB only became one man show, i want this drama became CLASSIC that everyone remember for a long time for all the character, their acting, the plot, the direction.
This is JTBC the most antipated drama and i hope it will be success ❤️
I highly suggest you invest some time reading comments on here before you start accusing me of pitting actors against each other, then ending with a “❤️” because you can fuck off with that bull. It’s not that difficult to get context when information is readily available. If you weren’t aware of what’s being discussed, it’s because you chose not to read. Try reading Bonbon or Reveny’s comments if you find it so challenging to read everything 🙄
His drama with iu sounds more interesting for me. Some people said iu gonna have loveline with others so I think it’s like unrequited love then they end up together when they’re old, since iu and pbg has (young) in their cast name. I look forward to pbg performance in that drama
I’m bogum’s fans and fyi we don’t care about screentime. We have learnt our lessons that Bogum has a way to make himself shine even in the littlest screen time like in wonderland or his other small roles. You’re the one showing your true color by bringing him down just to praise your fave.
Wow what’s with the KSH hate in this comment thread? Everything from conspiracy theories abt her and Netflix to “unprofessional” bangs and lousy acting… I mean, a Turkish dude turned up in a t-shirt and earplugs to win a silver medal in shooting, so maybe we can all chill a bit on what one MUST dress like/look like to be an Olympic marksperson?? And maybe it’s all part of the plot line? Unless one has actually read the drama scripts blow by blow, this is all speculation and with a truly nasty tinge.
So far there still shots and the bare minimum of a synopsis. While I am thoroughly impressed by the creativity of some the commenters here, perhaps we could all just dial down on the toxicity and just enjoy watching the drama marketing and the drama itself unfold.
Wow that dude is so cool! He looked more professional than the gold medalist. FBI should have got a guy like him as a sniper! LOL.
Yup! It’s so amusing to read so many comments scathing about KSH’s hair bangs. Like that Turkey Olympics shooter that is unfathomable in real life shooting range but does exist, how could ppl so petty about KSH’s hair style not looking professional enough? LOL.
No one hated KSH. People who talking about this conspiracy theories are her fans. KSH has a lot of fans here, and they’re talking about this because they’re worrying for her, not because they want to badmouth her.
This Turkish guy won a silver medal in the group competition. Most of the points were collected by other person in his team. He did not make the top 10 in the singles competition, unlike that korean woman, who was fully armed and won a gold medal.
His looks and nonchalant expression just set the stage for good PR, but even his hairstyle did not cover his eyes.
If you look at the other actors on these photos, even they look more like boxer and shooters than PBG and KSH.
I don’t hate actors or drama, but such an obvious disregard for realism, which even I, not a sportsmen, see, is a little annoying, and I’m not badmouth whole drama by complain about that.
That’s fine if the lack of realism bugs you. But this is kdramaland, not a documentary so it really seems like splitting hairs.
Also, oh dear, this is a pretty toxic form of “worry” if you’re saying that these are KSH fans saying all this.
She’s an actress who has already been acting for a long time. It’s her career, she has an agency, she seems like she’s got a good head on her shoulders. She’s hardly going to have the same trajectory as the likes of KGE and KTR, both of whom started their careers in explicit roles in art house Korean movies. Growing up onscreen would probably give some added pressure to maintaining a certain image.. or maybe she just prefers certain types of roles, who knows? She has received top billing for her past few dramas and Baeksang nomination for River Where the Moon Rises. And for a drama actress, her filmography range is already very wide. I would hardly consider it to be a career in crisis. Maybe everyone could just chill and be supportive. After all, it’s her life!
@Ally’s
Yes, maybe it’s a toxic form of worry, but people complaining about her bangs or romance dramas definitely not her haters.
You can read comments in articles with KSH tag here, I didn’t see any negative comment except her fans worrying for her career and complaining about her bangs.
I don’t know if they have or don’t have reason to worry. I’m not KSH or PBG fan, didn’t watch her drama and only one with him, so I know barely anything about both of them except they are hallyu stars and have a good reputation.
But I think that KSH is just 25 yo. This is considered as “young” in korean industry, so she has a lot of years and chances to play interesting characters in dramas with good actors, writers, directors etc.
@Olesya1, I still think it’s petty to bother with her hair style. Do you own guns or have ever been to any real shooting ranges? One of my neighbors practiced shooting in his back yard almost every day that I can watch from my backyard. Also, my hubby’s best friend had a private shooting range in his basement and he went hunting every summer. They are good shooters with A LOT of real shooting experience for years but they don’t style their appearance in certain ways to look professional. LOL.
I just don’t think how the cast are dressed should be the essential focus of this drama. How they look won’t tell you the stories the writer want to tell you. One bad example occurring to me is the Chinese sports drama, Amidst a Snowstorm of Love. The drama had everyone including the main leads look all like pro with all the details in sports gears & athletes’ accessories not missing a bit, besides all the competitions matching on-site scenarios. BUT, that drama is not only a dud but also a huge artistic failure without coherent stories to interest viewers. All left registered in my head about that drama is just their athletic wearing and styles, nothing more than that. LOL.
I don’t want this sports drama of PBG and KSH to be like AASOL at all. I’m looking forward to the story more than their styling in some pre-premiere stills posted here. LOL. More information or discussions of synopsis about this drama will be more welcome though.
@Somebody
No, I don’t have guns and don’t have shooting experience in real life. I just judging by athletes at sports events.
What about your neighbour and hubby’s best friend, well, shooting at back yard and at basement isn’t the same as shooting at Olympic games. And as they’re men, I assuming they don’t have such bangs. I’m not badmouthing whole drama by it, only these stills.
But I got your opinion.
What about discussions of synopsis, I wrote it under other article about that drama. There’s not so much to discuss, as synopsis doesn’t give much info
@Olesya1, just FYI. My neighbor used to have long hairs like a Hippie with side bangs. LOL. Even they weren’t in a competition, they are really good and authentic shooters in real life. They just picked up their rifles and aimed at the targets in the ranges or animals running in the woods even without ear muffs. My hubby’s buddy is really a good deer hunter cos he cooked trophies for us after his hunting trips. LOL.
I’m not sure if you really got my point. People can be really good at sports without styling like pros. That Turkish Olympian shooter is one example even you don’t think he’s good enough cos his teammate contributed more to the wins per your information. Well, he’s still a pro winning an Olympics medal. What prompted people to dismiss the shooting capability of this Olympian even they have zero experience in shooting nor have they ever been to a real life shooting range or have never heard real gun shots or perhaps have not even seen a real gun in real life? That’s why I cautioned you to not easily dismiss KSH’s hair bangs cos I don’t think you have any idea of what a really good shooter should be like in real life.
What I care about is what story the writer and the PD want to tell us through the acting. I have no interest in watching a documentary for which some audience expect things to look like certain ways . LOL.
@Ally’s, I’m a new fan of PBG after finishing Record of Youth days ago. I’m currently following KSH’s new drama, Serenpidity’s Embrace. I checked some of her old dramas and like her a lot. She has both acting chops and visuals.
I have very high hope of this one drama of them costarring together. I believe they can deliver strong chemistry, regardless of how much screen time they have together in the series. That’s not the most important with an interesting script and good directing, e.g., the immensely successful hit of a recent C drama, The Double.
don’t wanna break somebody’s imagination but goodboy is truely bogum’s centric drama if you read Director interview and TV station report. JTCB welcome PBG on their IG the 1st date he finished MS. He got this drama offer when he was in the army. if he’s not popular why he got these offer also WLGYT with Baeksang writer? he’s the first choice of the writer and imsangchun wrote it with him in mind (also iu togehter since it’s couple’s journey story)
Kimsohyun is nice actress for me but why she’s always with rookie and idols? i think her fans should know it better than me. To be paired with bogum and more veterans i wish her fans should be more humble and dont whine with others because it’s only make ppl get tired of her. tbh when bogum worked with precious female costars i dont see any of their fans talk bad or compare them agansit each other like ppl here doing.
New fan of PBG here 🙋♀️ just in case ppl don’t think he’s popular anymore! LOL. Great if the plot will revolve around him although I also like KSH. I just wrapped up Record of Youth. The FL in RoY was so boring but I got to finish the drama because the storyline about PBG alone was interesting enough. It’s obvious he carried RoY alone all by his charisma.
he can carry drama alone and he already prove himself even the plot was bad. Production company can sell their rights and ads because of him if you know the revenue reports of Roy’s production company. that’s one of the reasons he got hired again with drama with iu even his fee is so high.i hope goodboy cast will be in great harmony and ppl stop fighting with this nonsense.
@pink, that’s happened and will continue so to all the showbiz. Similarly in C-ent, you often found popular actors leading dramas that don’t have the best for the rest except for the leading stars themselves. Those dramas still had good ratings with lucrative deals from investors and CFs to finance the projects to be profitable.
I don’t think Good Boy will be such a case though given the reputation of the writer, the director, and the two leads. I trust them to have great quality control of this drama.
Surely, PBG can carry a drama alone. I’m confident to say so given that RoY’s plot and everything else were not that great but I was still interested to binge it. That’s odd. But PBG’s charisma explains all. LOL. I watched his popular dramas before but had never paid much attention to him before RoY. People saying he’s not successful nor popular anymore by giving RoY as an example of failure must have not watched the drama through the end without skipping anything. A lot of them might have been rooting for romance but the love lines in RoY surely disappointed them to the point they made a stretch to say PBG failed. Well, I don’t think producers, writers, and PD looked at acting that way. To those naysayers of PBG’s acting resume, it must be a shock and disappointing to see him cast for this high profile project. LOL.
I gather this drama will be at least one of those dramas that if ppl don’t like it, it’s most likely the genre is just not up to their street or they don’t already like PBG or KSH. Personal preference! But there are always naysayers hoping the drama to flop and therefore a lot of negativity about the drama even before the premiere. If ppl watch a couple of eps of Good Boy and don’t like it, then it’s just the plot isn’t their cup of tea. That happened to me about Queen of Tears. But to have so much negativity and doubts about the drama beforehand, it’s most likely these people are fans of someone else, just not a fan of PBG or KSH.
PBG fans were the one who were belittling KSH fans first so, I don’t get this attitude of yours. Ksh fans were not even talking about him in this thread. I am a KSH fan and I had issue with her hairstyle and nothing else. I am happy that she gets to worked with the talented director and writer and the cast. Maybe PBG fans should also get off their high horse and stop undermining his co-stars
Aigoo none of the bogum fans mentioned ksh first until someone starts going at him with that male centric nonsense. I think you should read the comments a little bit more carefully one more time.
Please leave bo gum in this toxic argument. Bo gum is such an amazing actor. He doesn’t deserve hates..he is so friendly to everybody coz he is such a positive person.. Show your support and love to this serie instead of arguing for nothing
to say it’s male lead centric does not mean i lookdown on KSH but it’s the truth. Same goes to ROY is male centric as well it does not mean i look down on sodam. it’s just the way story goes for each drama and the cast agree to join. i wish you can see the point here. and more over plz read comments above what her fans talk bad about bogum.
I’m a KSH fan but from the title itself, it’s obviously going to be a male lead-centric drama. It is what it is, but I know KSH will still do her best with what she has to work with. Heck, she even made the best out of the mess that was the Ruler Master of the Mask script. She already acted in male-centric dramas before (RMOTM and Tale of Nokdu), so it’s not a big deal for me as I know my girl will be outstanding in any role, whether she’s the lead or not. Is there a war going on between KSH and PBG fans that I’m not aware of? Honestly, I haven’t seen any fanwars in my social media feeds, seems like most fans of either are happy they finally got to work together, except maybe those PBG fans who ship him with other actresses.
I admit, I didn’t read the comments above as I know it’s becoming a cesspool already and I don’t want to ruin my day with nonsense fanwars lol. But I think I can speak for most KSH fans when I say we’re just happy she finally got to work with the likes of PBG, Oh Jung Se, etc. Most of us have absolutely no bitterness about the drama being male lead-centric, as we already knew that from the drama’s title alone. And to be honest, even supposedly female-centric dramas become male lead-centric in the end. For example, Red Sky, which was supposed to be titled “Hong Chun Gi” and supposedly mainly about HCG’s story became more of the Ahn Yeo Seop show in the end, and he even got first billing. And I was just watching Beautiful Gong Shim, which I was enjoying at first until it became the Ahn Dan Te (the male lead character) show in the second half. More famous example is The Red Sleeve which was supposed to be about the struggles of court ladies but eventually became the Junho show. It’s just how it is with KDramas, and I’m kinda used to it. But again, what matters is that GB is a huge improvement from the projects KSH used to get, so many of us fans are happy about it
@Pink Okay, I was able to finally gather all my courage and read the comments above. I’m confused as to why you’re saying KSH fans should be humble, as if we started the fanwars? Almost all KSH fans in the comments were talking about how excited they are with the cast but they don’t like that she has bangs here. It’s a PBG fan (bonbons) who started the whole male-centric thing with her comment, literally telling KSH fans to stop getting excited because it’s going to be the PBG show. Again, please read the comments above, no KSH fan hated on PBG or shaded him, it’s a PBG fan who shaded KSH first. Yeah, it’s most likely going to be a male-centric drama, and a lot of us are just whatever about it, but does bonbons have to really rub it in our faces and tell us to stop being excited about this drama since KSH apparently will have little screentime anyway? I think you have it backwards, it’s a PBG fan who started it. No need to tell KSH fans to be humble because literally none of us put down PBG, KSH fans just called out bonbons for shading KSH, that’s all
@Nelly: I agree with with your assessment. The title alone and how this was announced and marketed makes it obvious that this is going to focus on PBG’s story with the others supporting him. Similar to ‘Vincenzo’ with Song Joong Ki. KSY is the lead female though so I hope she has a well-written, rounded and interesting character that allows her to show her acting chops and can give her the adult breakout role she needs to put her back on the map. Ideally, I would like to see something like Flex x Cop where Ahn Bo Hyun was obviously the lead but Park Ji Hyun’s lead female character was her own person with her own history, ambitions, fears, and her character was given a chance to evolve and develop throughout the story. I think it helped that they didn’t go down the romance route for the ML and FL even though they had good chemistry and allowed their trust and friendship to develop at a measured pace. So if they do get together in Season 2 it will feel earned and not rushed.
What with ksh fans making assumptions that it will bogum’s centric then getting mad at him because of that made up scenarios?
Stop fighting over something that’s not even proven yet. So tired of him end up getting drag because of some mindless people’s insecurities
I really don’t get where this narrative came from that KSH fans started the arguments. Again, please read the comments above, KSH fans are EXCITED about the whole thing even tho most of us don’t like that she has bangs here. Sayaris and bonbons were the first ones who brought up the whole male-centric thing, and they’re not KSH fans. Bonbons literally told us KSH fans to stop getting excited because it will be PBG’s show. Why are y’all blaming KSH fans? KSH fans only defended KSH because, again, a PBG fan shaded her first. Please read the comments and you will see that there’s no comment from any KSH fan getting mad at PBG or even mentioning the drama being male-centric before Sayaris and Bonbons’ comments. Literally none, all of us were just commenting on her bangs and discussing the Netflix blacklist theory. KSH fans respect PBG, I hope y’all can also extend the same respect to KSH. We really didn’t start the whole thing, we’re just responding to Bonbons’ comment. Another PBG fan (ohw) above also literally said that KSH is nowhere near as popular as PBG, but you won’t find any comment from a KSH fan belittling PBG. Where did you get that we’re mad at PBG? We’re only mad at the two PBG fans above (Bonbons and ohw) who are trying to pit the two leads against each other
Another keyboard warrior who came typing without even reading the comments above lol. I’m not a fan of KSH but I’m irritated how this person can be so stupid. You are the one making assumptions that KSH fans are the one who said that it will be a male centric drama. If you have time to type your stupid comment why not try to read the comments above and maybe try to comprehend a little. I was simply reading comments but this people are obviously just trying to blame others for whatever reason. You’re taking the fun out of us who simply wants to enjoy reading comment 🙄
To all those who making assumption on the screentime for good boy and end up making Bogum gets dragged here, keep your insecurities to yourself and go.
And for bogum’s fans, don’t be too easily getting riled up by them and end up dragging his costar too.
@pink I never even said that this drama is gonna be sohyun or female lead centric. It was @bonbons (who seems like a PBG fan) that started this stupid argument by belittling Sohyun, and others were simply replying to that comment. But you made it sound like KSH fans were the one who started this.
As a KSH fan, I don’t mind if her character is the central focus, as long as the writing for her character is strong and she has a good role. So, peace out.
Yeah right! Like in what blog they read that KSH fan talking about this drama is going to be male centric? It was Bonbon (obviously a PBG fan) and Sayaris (a silent KSH hater ever since lol) who spouted it first then it was twisted for some reason. I was simply reading comments and complaints about her bangs as I always do (read comments for fun) then these idiots who came accusing fans for mere mention of their fave makes me so irritated.
A bit of advice everyone.
Try reading and comprehending first before you start typing so you won’t look stupid.
if I’m kim sohyun fan, i would be so pissed off. the one that has been shaded was sohyun. and suddenly it’s sohyun’s fans faults for her being shaded. so ridiculous 🤣 sayaris must be happy with the outcomes of her shaded comments.
