C-actor Fan Cheng Cheng Accepts and Promises to Improve After Broad Criticism Over His Bad Acting in 1970’s Homespun Period Drama Romance in the Alley

There are a lot of nepo babies in entertainment industry in any country so C-ent is no different and some are okay while most are unskilled but trying hard. C-actor Fan Cheng Cheng, the much younger brother of former top actress Fan Bing Bing, has been pursuing his actor career since he came of age and through his own sister getting cancelled with her tax scandal. The problem remains that he’s been criticized for not being about to act properly since his debut and it appears not to have improved through to his most recent drama Romance in the Alley. He played the third male lead but it’s a serious work and not idol fare and he’s surrounded by veterans who act circles around him so it looks even more glaring. The criticism of him in Alley has been widespread and he actually addressed it openly in a live stream recently, saying he sees the complaints as positive because he will work towards improving. Industry insiders are saying his team has actually hired an acting coach and he will be going through intensive classes in the coming months.

  1. He’s prob the worst nepo baby. Doesn’t look handsome, no hit projects to his name on top of bad acting. The complete opposite of his sister.

    • I don’t think he’s the worst, I think there was small drama nepo baby with much worse look. At least he has the height. He will need to fix his posture and buff up his body a bit, with a right bit of styling he could become a heartthrob. If he can fix his acting that’s even better

      • I said he’s worst not cos he’s the ugliest. But he got the best resources – movies with top actors, running man and dramas from daylight entertainment and the one with YZ. But he still he isn’t known for anything lmao. Even Chen Feiyu has some minor drama hits.

      • Hmm you’re right about that then, he got lot of good resources because of his sister connections but there’s no drama with him that I can immediately name. Chen feiyu isn’t my type but I can immediately name one of his drama

  2. I haven’t watched this drama yet but I actually thought he was a pretty decent actor in Love Endures with Yang Zi. Maybe he felt more comfortable around her and the rest of the cast so it was easier. Either way, I’m glad he’s taking the criticism seriously and plans on improving. I’ve seen other actors get called out for bad acting and they don’t even try to improve themselves.

    • On tv might be. This is like how makjang and 50 episode drama somehow has high rating in korea. That’s what the remote holder likes

    • It’s the government’s requirement for all actors and actresses must film family and love the country sentiments as national services. Which i think it is something good. Otherwise all cdrama will be focus on idol romance drama only.

  3. Sometimes I forget what an average man looks like after seeing eye candy all the time. Fan Cheng Cheng looks like any man off the street. In that way, he is refreshing because you get a reminder of just how amazing the real stars are. Why he has any demand after his sister’s downfall is beyond me, though. That was his whole appeal and now its gone.

  4. I thought his performance was very good “Time Seems To Have Forgotten”. He was not even remotely close to bad in it. He must hire better acting coaches and chose better roles. He needs to go after complicated and heavy roles like he did in TSTHF.

Chinese ent have so many awful actors and actresses working for decades solely based on their face and bodies. Look at Dilraba, her face and body are the only things sustaining her in life because her acting skills are upper dreadful for a decade and people worship her so face and body are the most necessary to do well to keep on getting jobs as an actress.

    • So true. That’s why actors and actresses which depends on look and body without any solid skills, were struggling hard to keep alive when they starts to age.
