The first and second place contestants in the South Korean box office took a major change in position in the second weekend of release in direct competition between Dark Nuns and Hitman 2. In the first weekend Dark Nuns with Song Hye Kyo and Jeon Yeo Bin came in first with Hitman 2 starring Kwon Sang Woo in second, but then Hitman 2 had stronger word of mouth and in the second weekend increased 5% in tickets sold to become first in the box office while Dark Nuns slipped to second but on a steep 60% drop in tickets. This aligns with the strong reviews and entertainment factor of Hitman 2 after its release and also the weak reviews for Dark Nuns which is not going to be the next Exhuma with the exorcism genre.

The 60% drop in ticket sales had many good reasons behind it.
I was surprised that Dark Nuns performed relatively well in comparison to Harbin.
I also read the generally bad reviews and what's even funnier is that has SHK ever really acted differently? She's playing the same character over and over again, even her performance in The Glory was simply overrated.
SHK did say The Glory was out of her comfort zone, so since she got rave reviews for it, I guess she wanted to carry over the same type of acting to her next work. It's only her fans who keep hyping Dark Nuns. All other reviews are abysmal.
Just because it's the same doesn't mean it's bad. Some establish actor always act in the same style doesn't mean their acting is bad. It's still a good acting right? It's just lack diversity. SHK said recently she wish play in romcom genre which different compare her character in dark nuns, means it's the type of character she gets offered so far.
And that's why shk gets called boring because you see the same thing everytime. And when somebody says your acting is boring, I don't think that's a good thing.

Exactly. Her nasty fans and their constant victim complex have really turned me off SHK. I don't wish her bad in any way, but I don't root for her either and while I'm sorry that the film isn't doing well (which won't affect a big star like SHK at all, but the small ppl behind the scenes), I'm glad her fans' words came to bite them back and I don't have to keep coming across their annoying gloating. You'd think they had personal stakes in that divorce, still not moving on after half a decade
Same. I have nothing against SHK but some of her fans are just too toxic, that they make me not want to support her in any way. It's too bad, as she seems like an okay person. Movies have never been her strong suit so her fans need a reality check that their bias' movie is not the big hit that they claim it is.

I think movie's so far performance is doing good considering leading two female leads instead of usual male lead movies. It cannot compare with Exhuma as same genere but different story.

Glad international audience didn't kept it. Underrated. Sjk acting highly praised with fluent Spanish. But yeah fans like you are giving false information to other people to not watch in mdl
