Park Bo Gum Hits a Home Run in Picking When Life Gives You Tangerines as His First Post Military Drama and is Grateful for the Role in Recent Interview — 11 Comments

  1. Park Bo Gum was so memorable in the role, even with the shorter screen time. Couldn’t find a better actor to cement the young Gwang Sik role. His tears in ep 6 was so gut wrenching. Award worthy performance.

It was nice to see how Park Bo Gum and Park Hae Joo worked to make Gwang Sik a character standard that people will always remember. For Park Hae Joo to seamlessly transition into the older version, without Gwang Sik appearing any different from his younger self. Kudos to both actors.

Really looking forward to Good Boy! Bo Gum looks so fine in this drama. Shocked to hear he even gained weight for this role.

  2. Park Bo Gum occupy a big spot in my fan heart… I love this drama alot…cried alot too… when he waved goodbye at the end scene…I ran out of tissue.

  3. “When Life Gives You Tangerines” is a drama I just can’t binge – one episode every other day because each one packed so much emotion that it hits your heart with a wallop and can’t help but tear up. Someone said that this drama was unrealistic in the sense that all these misfortunes can happen to one family. But it did and they lived on. Buoyed by a love that was brave, steadfast, and true. Haven’t finished it yet; will be taking my time.

  4. Haven’t seen a drama truly deserving my compliments and also popularity at the same time for a while. Congrats to the cast and the production team of WLGT for ranking top 1 of global Netflix non-English shows for 3 weeks straight. I’m so glad that I did not root for another acting talent by chance after watching Record of Youth. Some people argued with me back then saying PBG was just pedestrian and his resume had been looking stale. LOL. I don’t praise anybody just for nothing out of blue. When I say an actor warrants attention and I root for him, I mean it and most likely will see breakthrough later on. This is just the start of of PBG’s journey to even more stellar performance.

  5. BTW, I’d like to give kudos to the casting director who cast the actors for child, young adult, and adjussi versions of Gwang Sik showing such consistency in the hero’s character and temperament. I felt a little bit of disconnect between the young version (played by IU) and the old version (not familiar with the actress though) of the heroine (if there’s a flaw in this drama, this is one), but not in the acting of the hero GS though. Great job to cast these three actors who played Gwang Sik consistently and seamlessly transitioning to different stages of life .

  6. Este drama me hizo llorar de principio a fin. Es una historia real, sin tanto adulamiento. Le pedí a mi esposo que lo viera porque siento que se refleja mucho en el. Un hombre que deja su propia dignidad por el amor a su familia. Felicidades ❤️

  7. I’m so glad he’s back. Loved this netflix drama. It was heartwarming, tender, living, it was a 10 for me.

  8. He was and is an incredible actor who was absolutely amazing in When life gives you tangerines!!! I couldn’t stop watching it and IU has seem to make me a true believer as she seems to have grown so much as an actress her performance was amazing in this. The only thing I wish was that they brought Park bo gum back as the son!!!

  9. Leave the man alone .he has done nothing wrong they only want his money If they had a problem they should complained years ago I believe it’s all lies.I’m 73 years old and this is very wrong taking all he has earned and worked hard for.why now that she has died are they picking on him why should it be his fault. Think about it.I’m on his side all the way . He’s a good guy.
