Jeon Ji Hyun Brings Movie Star Glamour to Europe Attending Brand Event and Makes Waves with News that She’s Not Renewing Contract with Agency
This may be one of the most expected developments considering what has (or has not happened) since top actress Jeon Ji Hyun signed with her agency Ieum Hashtag in 2022 three years ago. She has done only one drama the Disney+ series Tempest which hasn’t even aired yet. This past week she was in Europe looking her most glamourous self attending events for couture jewelry brand Piaget and back in South Korea the entertainment news was buzzing with word that she will not renew her contract with Ieum Hashtag when it expires soon. She may pick another agency but the rumor is that she will set up her own agency. Whatever she does I hope she gets more projects because she’s just so fun to watch onscreen.
Now that her kids are older JJH is returning to the screen full time. Not good news for the 30s actresses who will be competing for the same projects because JJH despite being in her mid 40s will be playing roles in the mid 30s range since she still looks youthful. On the other hand it seems like Ieum Hashtag will be shutting shop even KSH has left and SJH is likely to leave too.
I’ve seen her attend more events in the last 3 months than the last few years combined. She’s popping up around the world for LV and Piaget and whatever other brand she signed onto.
Her appearances are enough to bury the headlines about her husband and his company being under investigation for stock fraud and embezzlement. She’s also ramping up her presence in Chinese market by doing vlogs for her China-based endorsements. It’s the most open she’s been in her career.

JJH isn’t the type of actress that needs an agency to get her projects or dramas. Her name is more than enough. It’s also not like she’s been doing back to back dramas in her previous agency. She’s picky and that’s always been the case. I hope she decides to do a sageuk drama next. She’s never done one which is quite insane looking at how long she’s been in the industry.

She’s now working and promoting more than she’s ever had in her career. Rested for a month after wrapping the Disney+ drama then filmed the zombie movie with JCW. She wasn’t done filming the movie and she’s already in talks for a new drama with JCW that will be filming end of the year. Some people don’t need to work but just love their careers enough to keep going even with all the fame and money that they have. Her kids are much older now too.
Wait, just to clarify, by JCW, you mean Ji Chang Wook? And did I read it correctly that she and Ji Chang Wook has a zombie movie AND she’s also in talks to be in a drama with him? I like both, so if that’s true then I’d definitely love to see them together in a movie and a drama! lol
So happy seeing both Jun Ji Hyun and Kim So Hyun leave that incompetent agency lol. Hope they move to something like BH Entertainment (I’ve noticed that actors who move there become suddenly everywhere lol, they’re great at promoting their artists), Namoo, or Soup.
