Tian Xi Wei and Hu Yi Tian in Talks for Modern Romance C-drama Genius Girlfriend
Well this is serendipitous timing indeed. On the heels of news articles that C-actor Hu Yi Tian has not filmed a C-drama in two years comes news that he has been offered the male lead in modern romance Genius Girlfriend. The female lead is Tian Xi Wei and she is top billed. I think this project and female lead makes sense for him to accept but his fandom is reportedly not cool with him being second billed to her. Good lord, even actors with no work for two years have beggars who are choosers fandoms lol. I find her animated and warm onscreen while he’s cool and stoic so this opposites vibe sounds like a good combo.
I guess his fans were hoping for equal billing…
They can’t be happy for him that he is finally found work after 2 years. He’s not even a good actor. In my opinion, he had no other choice to play the main role over second role. Finding work is already luck. His job search campaign can be stop. Twx is an rising post-95s. They shouldnāt cry over it lmfao

And to be fair he didn’t bring it up out of nowhere. The girl he was with was goading him into saying something nasty and the fact that she was recording shows she was trying to get him to say something to get him in trouble. A lot of people talk shit in private. I felt bad for the girl he was talking about but I don’t think he’s some evil guy.

The only time I saw Hu Yi Tian was in Blossoms in Adversity. His character was on the complex side, but his flavorless acting made him look generic.
@1+1, He had one of the most wooden acting in BiA, a stark contrast with Zhang Jingyi who saved the drama. But HYT looked cool in fighting scenes thanks to his height and body build. They should have him more in action rather than reading lines or looking empty in romantic scenes. lol
So heāll have no lines and no close ups for his face š³

Bro sucks at acting. I have somewhat of a soft spot for him just because A Love So Beautiful was one of my first cdramas, but he’s really only gotten worse over the years. He would be lucky to get second billing and be paired with Tian Xiwei, his fans to get their heads out of their asses. TXW is so charismatic and is able to make chemistry even with the most wooden of actors.
