Producer Yu Zheng Confirms and Blasts the Director of Genius Girlfriend for Replacing Supporting Actress Zhao Jia Min Abruptly Two Days into Filming
Well this is another glimpse at the cutthroat and dirty world of entertainment, though the one speaking one has probably done the same if not worse himself. Producer Yu Zheng has gone public to confirm and blast the director and production of recently started filming modern C-drama Genius Girlfriend. His agency actress Zhao Jia Min, who played a memorable good friend role in The Double, was cast as the second female lead in Genius Girlfriend who started filming last week with a kickoff ceremony with leads Tian Xi Wei and Hu Yi Tian along with the supporting leads. Then two days into filming rumor started that second female lead Zhao Jia Min had been replaced with He Shi Yu. Yu Zheng confirmed this a day later explaining that the director was rude to Zhao Jia Min from the beginning, telling her that she was NOT who he had in mind for the role and he wanted someone else. Then she was made to dye her hair dark black one day, then the next day dyed to blonde. Despite all that, she was then replaced and Yu Zheng said it’s due to He Shi Yu’s backing to get her that role. Yu Zheng also criticized the drama, saying the script was only halfway done but filming started because it got a big name female lead to star, and that the male lead was already bad at acting but the director is willing keep shooting his scenes over and over but not giving Zhao Jia Min any chance. This is totally the kind of tea I love getting exposed lol.

Wow… I’ve read some novels with showbiz as the background, i could imagine what kind of sponsor it is. But i love this tea and wish him to spill more. lol
I always wonder how Hu Yu Tian, with that kind of acting skill, and the rumor about him talking sh&t about his co-star, keep getting work here and there (except for those two years he was in hiatus). he’s one lucky man.
Yep, people who (aren’t afraid to) speak their mind seem to be a rare breed, getting rarer in this day and age.
I’ve seen a lot of criticism here about this prolific producer/director/Writer/Idea creator/production and artist co., head, so went and checked him out, a little. He is attached to so much is he the most influential person in Chinese drama production? Has to be close.
Anyway, I don’t care if he’s a shitty person in terms of what he says and does, of course that comes with ‘if he has committed actual crimes then of course he should be prosecuted/punished for them’. If he creates/makes decent dramas, I’ll watch and enjoy them and appreciate his contribution.
Anyway, he is definitely an interesting character
He got backers in the industry. No other explanation
Wow! Definitely, tea.
Seriously?!? Don’t they sign binding contracts at the very beginning? And especially if you get to dye and eventually damage your hair…
No shade intended but the one replaced is a bit more pretty than his actress. She has very simple features while the other has very pretty facial features. Connections or not he probably could not envision her in the role. Very mean how he did it though. This yu Zheng seems to have very funny looking favorites. Not that they are ugly just oddly don’t always stand out like he claims them to be. Like wishful thinking. Very awkward that he blasted the main lead though Lol. Like man it wasn’t enough that his fans were crying for him to be back in the acting arena but now he got blasted for sucking by someone well known in the industry. So wild though how cutthroat all of them seem to be in their industry.
That poor girl. Why cast her in the first place then? Why waste her time and energy? Who is this director anyway?
Yu Zheng is infamous for being a bully and stuffing his people in. Multiple times, he has been found guilty of plagiarism. This allegory of the little actress being stepped in, he’s the one with the history of doing the stepping. He’s a sly fox, there’s no way a contract wasn’t signed. If production is able to replace her, something else is going on. This also signals that he is losing power.
He’s only crying because it doesn’t benefit him. He’s been known to do and say worse things. Feel bad for his actress, but definitely not for him!
He has a history of forcing his actors into dramas and trying to get them maximum screen time at the expense of others.
Oh no, the director pushed out his fave that he forced in. What tragedy /s
Just based on visuals alone, I will choose the second actress too. Zhao Jiamin is totally unmemorable in both looks and acting. Puzzles me as she was supposingly the top girl of SNH48 before Ju Jingyi.
What, you mean there’s a director who has actually the freedom to chose his own cast? Unbelievable!
Having said that, the girl was there for the booting ceremony, so things looked pretty solid and it’s totally unfair to her that she got replaced like that. I mean, how worse can she be that all the other idol wannabes.
sorry for her hair…
I like Zhao Jia Min, but it could be possible that she just wasn’t a good fit for that role and Yu Zheng or others were trying to make the director accept her. Dealing with Yu Zheng seems exhausting, so having to deal with him to cast a supporting role seems not worth it.
