iQiyi Wuxia C-drama Immortalis with Hou Ming Hao and Zhang Wen Xin Starts Filming and Releases Teaser Posters
Even though it’s nearing year end but C-drama land still has projects kicking off filming. If all goes well a drama that starts now could conceivably wrap by lunar new year in a few months when everything shuts down for a minimum of two weeks. Wuxia C-drama Immortalis (Bi Xue Chan 碧血蟬) has started filming and the production went ahead and released a bunch of teaser posters. The leads are Hou Ming Hao with rookie actress Zhang Wen Xin who got a big break playing Princess Hua Zheng in the recent Legend of the Condor Heroes big screen movie. Joining them as second male lead is rising actor Xu Zhen Xuan who was with Hou Ming Hao in the sprawling cast of Fangs of Fortune. I’m getting really tired of Hou Ming Hao in xianxia dramas so this is relief he’s doing a different period genre and I’m more excited to see a genuine fresh face on the screen with Zhang Wen Xin.
I hope HMH’s character will be different from what he always portrays this time Y_Y
Why do I feel like HMH is everywhere.
HMH is typecast. This is prob his 1000th historical drama. His babyish face and short height probably don’t allow him to take offers from other genres.
What??? There are no short or baby faced men in contemporary China? Not that HMH is short. Over half of his dramas are contemporary or urban fantasy dramas, so he’s taken on other genres. However, like some other actors, whoever is styling his costume dramas is not changing up his look.
Like Zhang Linghe a few months ago. LOL. I was about to make a similar comment.

he is incredible in “Love in the clouds” I have soft spot in him. He is just act so incredibly well That I watching that drama for his character arc and his acting make the character inner turmoil come alive. he add so much depth to his character everytime he come on screen. I’m watching him in Dashing Youth to connect with blood river before. While he act decently, it doesn’t allow him to showcase his real talent. Showing Acting really need a decent to good character to show your acting chop. Ji Bozai is incredibly layer. If acted by less passionate and less talent actor, It won’t work I think.
It’s a fortunate too his leading acctress is also can compliment his talent too. I hope this drama will be good
