iQiyi Releases First Shoot Pictures with Yu Shu Xin and Zhang Yun Long for Period C-drama Yun Chu Ling
Filming began last week but this week iQiyi released the first set pictorial for the period C-drama Yun Chu Ling (云初令 or Cloud’s First Command). Starring Yu Shu Xin and Zhang Yun Long, the mood is more serious and darker than her usual dramas and like I previously mentioned much more in the vein of My Journey to You. I actually like this shoot, the yellow and rich blue is very striking and the vibe captures a moody aura. I don’t like Yu Shu Xun’s hair style tho it makes her look like a brothel madam lol but that’s just what I associate with this type of period hair. And in terms of first impressions, the two leads do look good together.
Its good that she is not doing that cutesy look. She really needs to move away from it. Journey to You proves she can do good at serious work and she needs to do more of those!

From the look on her face she seems to be conniving something. So it makes me feel we are in for revenge and intrigue in the palace but his look seems so aloof so will he be used or be just as conniving? That’s the feeling I felt from those stills. Hope it works it out for them. I know she is ridiculed a lot on this blog site but I still see her potential. Hope she figures out how not to lean so hard into the cutesy act in her roles and just if she must be cutesy do it when she is off the set while promoting or if her role truly demands for it otherwise she will only get so far.
Oh yeah I’m here to mock her again. Her voice, nor does her cutesy mannerism say out loud she’s FL material. If she has potential to truly lead a drama and shine, let her take supporting roles first rather than robbing other more becoming actresses of already limited resources in C-ent. Nepotism is a big issue that contributes to the much inferior quality of Cdrama compared with Kdrama. There were supposedly a wealth of material and interesting topics as well as rich acting talent for Cdrama production, theoretically more than Kdrama. But look at the results! lol. That’s why I’ve never hesitated to bash these inferior C-ent products cuz the embarrassment is huge that insults viewers’ taste! lol
She is not the only one being pushed for roles like this. There are too many actors and actresses with similar dispositions still being stuffed down our throats as main leads irregardless if they are nepotism or not. Those who misuse their fan base on purpose but still thrive well. Those who are pretty but suck in acting. It is endless. She just needs to ditch the cutesy gimmick and she will be fine. Fairness? I highly doubt there is any fairness in c ent. Her money is the least of problems. Even some of koalas favorite actors and actresses be using connections and money to influence stuff but we still watch their dramas regardless. Directors, writers, producers and agencies bullying and watering things for popularity. It is really hard to tell who is above board anymore over there as is. I get it paying your way into things should not be but so many do it besides her allegedly. It’s a matter of will she make the change and whether the industry would cease allowing such going on. And yah that is highly unlikely.
You wont be able to reason with her. She’s known for being a rabid hater and loves to compare anything chinese to koreans. People have rational discussions, she has foaming mouth tirades. It’s funny to see actually. Don’t just take it from me though, almost all regulars in here sees it and now ignores her for the most part. You’ll see.
