K-ent is calling it the battle of the doctors for Mon-Tues night ratings supremacy but the substance and tone are so different I can’t see it appealing to the same group of viewers. SBS premieres Doctors on June 20th after Daebak (Jackpot) while on the same day KBS brings out Beautiful Mind to take over for Neighborhood Hero Jo Deul Ho. I’m … Continue reading →
This Friday night was the 2016 Baeksang Arts Awards in Seoul, with the brightest Korean television and film stars of the year gathered for glitz, glamour and peer recognition. Acclaimed movie director Lee Joon Ik took home the Film side Daesang for directing The Throne and Dong Ju while the Daesang on the television side didn’t go to a person but … Continue reading →
I’m finding the low key casual vibe of the cast and filming of Cinderella and Four Knights exceedingly pleasant, like a warm casual breeze on a summery day. The Korean viewing audience has spoken and is predicting 2016 to be a good year for two acting talents. In a poll released in early January, domestic viewers were asked to name the most promising actors for the year and the winners from each gender just happened to be costars in a recently released movie. Kang Dong Won was chosen … Continue reading →
Casting is complete for upcoming web drama Cinderella and Four Knights, and is way more promising that I initially thought. Thanks to locking down K-movie actress Park So Dam, this fluffy drama adaptation of a manhwa merits a look even if the rest of the cast is hit and miss. The male leads are Jung Il Woo, Ahn Jae Hyun, … Continue reading →

Cinderella and Four Knights, which already cast the two main male leads in Jung Il Woo and Ahn Jae Hyun, has now found its Cinderella and two more additional knights. I’m pretty shocked to see that talented young movie actress … Continue reading →
