Sunny Happiness has only a few more weeks of competitionless airing on Sunday nights. Drunken to Love You has been given the firm start date of April 17, 2011, which means Channel X has only a few more episodes to continue to torment me with its completely insane plot and acting. The production held a press conference over the weekend to trot out its two leads Rainie Yang and Joseph Chang.
I can’t get over how adorable and striking Rainie looks with her new haircut. Heh, DtLY may be the first drama I watch because I like the main lead’s hair. Apparently Joseph is one of those leading men that isn’t conventionally handsome, but onscreen just sizzles with chemistry and charisma. I can get onboard with that.
Below are the first ever snippets from the drama, and I’m not terribly impressed with the out-of-context scenes that are shown. However, I am totally stoked that the drama emphasizes once again it’s goal to showcase the local art and culture of Taiwan.
Teaser snippets of DtLY:
When watching the teaser snippets, I realized that TW-dramas have this fascination with its main leads accidentally seeing each other naked or in dishabille, which I correlate with K-dramas fascination with fauxcest. I’m not terribly enamored of Rainie playing another loud-mouthed, abrasive, foul-tempered pesky girl type, but if there is anyone who’s made a name for herself owning this type of role, then it’s Rainie Yang. Let’s see if with this drama Rainie can break the supposed Best Actress Golden Bell Curse.

What's the supposed Best Actress Golden Bell Curse?....Joseph Chang looks hot, though i've never seen him act
Just the same nonsense as the Oscar curse - can't get a good role, successive projects are duds, etc.
Yes, what is about supposed Best Actress Golden Bell curse? I watched Taiwan Drama a long time ago, before my K drama addiction. I don't have a clue about T drama world.
Thanks to your blog, now I start to pay attention to good Taiwanese drama.
I can’t get over how adorable and striking Rainie looks with her new haircut.
Me too. It's very chic! I wonder how long it takes to get it just right...
I have to say that every time I see the drama's title, the English-language purist in me cringes horribly. I just - I can't.
Hahaha, I have excruciatingly bad grammar so this title doesn't bug me. But the literal translation of the title is: [I] decided to fall in love with you after getting drunk.
Actually, the meaning of the title disturbs me. ;-)
[I] decided to fall in love with you after getting drunk.
Um, what. o_o Why does that sound like an alcoholic's excuse? "My wife loks better when I drink, etc etc"?
You're so right! In every one of Rainie's dramas, either some accidently saw her or she saw them naked. I mean common on! But she looks great with her new hair! Our Rainie is growing up. But honestly, if she wants to be taken seriously, she should not take up these roles anymore.
Joseph Chang looks yummy... and tall (supposedly 188 cm, without pads). Somehow he reminds me of Eriiiiiiic. *^^*
Rainie = cuteness & lovable. About the male lead....I'll have to watch the drama to see. I want Rainie to team up with someone super handsome/cool to beat her famous team-up with Mike He.
I think she Rainie looks prettier with shorter hair. :) And oh, those shoes looks exactly like what I gave my mum during her last birthday... LOL XD
