I haven’t been mulling over the narrative progression in the first 4 episodes of Heirs/The Inheritors between the weekly episode waits. My uptake for this drama is surprisingly in the moment, and I don’t think there is too much grist to sort through so far. It’s rather straightforward with the characters and conflicts without too much complexity at this point. I think the school yard will be a key location for the characters to create more sparks and I can’t wait to see them start going to school together soon. The preview for episode 5 was a bit too short for my taste, I wanted to see more, and SBS graciously obliged by released another preview showing lots of exciting new scenes to come. Young Do is currently on my shit list so I’m not feeling or looking forward to the requisite love triangle between him, Tan, and Eun Sang. That’s a lopsided triangle as it comes since Tan has got such a head start on him. I think Young Do with Rachel makes sense, would be hilariously fauxcest inappropriate, and can get those two to stop annoying Tan and Eun Sang. Too bad cute cupcake Chan Young is off limits with his devotion and affection for Bo Na, but then again, that’s part of his character’s charm. The new preview shows more scenes of Tan going to Eun Sang’s school, Young Do stopping Eun Sang to interact with her, Tan and Chan Young talking and Bo Na still trying to avoid Tan, and a glimpse at the adult romance between Hyun Joo and Won. So far the drama is making me want to bash Won on the head with the shovel, so he needs to show some warmth and compassion for Tan soon otherwise I can’t imagine Hyun Joo dating a human icicle like him. SBS also released new stills of Young Do with his giant dog, clearly the one he uses to torment his father’s girlfriends and wreak havoc at home. The dog is giant but has a derpy expression so seems more devoted hound rather than attack dog.
