I’m relieved to pare down my intake by two dramas what with Secret Love Affair and In a Good Way both ending last week. Loved both to pieces but I was starting to feel the strain of too much drama overload. This weekend let me look ahead to what’s on deck for next week and it’s official that my next crack has arrived in the form of Dr. Stranger. I find myself thinking about what’s to come and that’s the clearest indication of being hooked. I love being hooked, good or bad at least the visceral attachment is there to make the experience more than just a casual watch. Not sure if my Lee Jong Seok allergy will ever be fully cured, I sorta don’t see him at all in DS and instead find myself all over Park Hoon. I can’t really explain it, he’s doing a good job acting but he’s just still not my thing. Park Hae Jin, on the other hand, is so hubba hubba I’m actually glad the drama hasn’t ramped up his story line yet. It’s a breather from starting to drool over Jae Joon on top of wanting to feed and hug Hoon all the time.
It’s hours away from episode 5 and a bunch of new DS goodies have arrived. There are new drama stills, one set features Jae Joon getting drunk at a bar (witness the crazy shot glass tower he built) and another shows the two leading ladies Jae Hee/Seung Hee and Soo Hyun comforting each other over the death of Soo Hyun’s mom. I’m going to ask again that comments refrain from repeating the same gripes about which leading lady character ought to end up with Park Hoon. Just watch and see what happens! Right now Park Hoon lives, breathes, sleeps Jae Hee, if episodes down the road he suddenly stops loving her and starts madly pursuing Soo Hyun then so be it. To bog down a drama early on with shipping wars cuts down on the substantive discussion for the story development and triggers debate for something that hasn’t even happened yet. I heard a spoiler about the Jae Hee/Seung Hee identity question which makes sense and I’m pretty sure someone has already ventured that theory. I’m just glad this drama isn’t saddled with needing great logic as a hook because it sure has none of that.

Wow, looks interesting, can't wait for this episode.
Thanks for the post, Koala! Any chance you could post the spoiler as to Jae Hee/Seung Hee's identity? Pretty please :)
I agree, please Ms Koala give us some spoilers about Jae hee/Seung Hee.
Is it that she was supposed to be a spy who is on a mission to manipulate Park Hoon right from the beginning? Please let us know!
How can you love a character if the actor has not contributed to make it lovable?? I'm confused Koala.....a bad actor can ruin a perfect role and a good actor can shine above the poor role....so I think there is a combined power of well written character as well LJS that makes Hoon adorable!
ms. K, i do agree with dream on and i also agree that LJS is doing a great job as an actor — he may really be much into the character that you find the character much more adorable than the actor himself [am i making any sense here?]
or is it because LJS looks too young and innocent to be be dreamt of as someone's oppa; unlike PHJ who is charismatic and — to borrow lines from early part of episode 3 — he is hot and sexy…
Maybe spy did plastic surgery and learnt hoon/jaehee history.
if seung hee is indeed jae hee;i doubt if she is a spy.what to spy for?i guess her being mysterious has something to do with prime minister jang impending surgery..ahh this drama is addicting that even if my fav actor/actress is not involved i would still be hooked.park hoon character is so pretty...and please pretty koala give us some spoiler of seung hee.. from the preview im sure shes from north korea.
Ms. Koala,
it's the same for me when I watched SJK in Nice guy. I like him as Maru but I didn't feel connected to him as an actor :)
Wild guess: Jae Hee came back as Seung Hee in order to get revenge for his father. The first episode showed that Hoon chose to save Jae Hee over his father. Maybe Comrade Cha twisted the story in a kind of way where Jae Hee now hates Hoon and is now working as a North Korean spy also knowing that Hoon is originally a South Korean.
LOGIC in kdramas, sometimes you just have to throw it out of the window. :) thanks for the update koala sis!
and i think it's my IP address at the office, it's okay here at home.
I think Seung-Hee is the twin of Jae-Hee. As I recall (not so sure though) Jae Hee's father was a South Korean political refugee?
Them being twins is a wild guess but makes a lot of sense.
I'm thinking that she making an act, like being angry and vengeful towards Park Hoon.
