Written and Video Preview for Pinocchio Episode 7

I’m not surprised Pinocchio is doing so well on my year end drama poll despite the fact that it’s only aired 6 episodes. The fact that it’s the currently airing hot drama is a boost during voting not to mention what’s aired has been solidly entertaining. I also think this drama deserves a leap of faith that it’ll stay good, and part of that comes from the drama willing to go to dark places such as turning hyung Jae Myung homicidal. Sure this drama could subscribe to the “everyone is fine deep down” fairy tale to package it into a happy ending for all, but by showing the tragedy of the past could have even farther reaching consequences belies the very premise that journalism is a very powerful tool. I appreciate it very much despite the sadness that Jae Myung could not avoid the dark path by reuniting with Dal Po earlier. The written preview is out for episode 7 and isn’t terribly spoilery, which makes sense since the drama isn’t currently selling a lot of angst or big looming decisions.

Written preview for episode 7:

YGN’s Dal Po and MSC’s In Ha have both collected information about the gym death and both think each has the exclusive scoop. Who has the real exclusive scoop between the two of them? On the other hand, In Ha keeps avoiding Dal Po who sees the way In Ha is staying away from him and starts to feel unhappy about it………

Dal Po and In Ha’s awkward situation is played more for laughs and emotional trauma and I’m hoping they come clean with their feelings soon and save the bigger problems for later. A little more happy now just to pad the landing for the built up tears sure to come.

  • Here's hoping that Pinocchio doesn't pull the trite, second-lead caring for sick female lead and using said are to posture over male lead which leads to inevitable tug-of-war over girl shtick. I'm loving how maturely Pride and Prejudice has been dealing with the situation even if it's probably just puppy love with Kang Soo and I really hope that Pinocchio takes a leaf out of that.

  • Did you see the back hug stills? It looks like Inha's avoiding him lead him to confess his feeling. It's about time...

  • This drama is so fast pace I can't follow. Park Hye Run jjang.what will be the next theme of her drama and director Joo So Won is impressing me.

    • I agree even the clothes and style of Dal po is copy of Kim tan and don't forget the back hug, toast kiss and the second lead..

The writer and director must be heavily inspired by the heirs and it is easy to notice even a child can see thru that.

      • But this drama is more romantic, the heirs didn't do this backhug l, I remember dozens of kdrama back hug and food kiss etc. Piggyback also.

      • I understand (and embrace) the dislike and derision for Heirs, but for people to say that Dal Po and In Ha are copying/clones of Heirs simply because Park Shin Nye is the female lead in both --- I find it odd, because Dal Po looks nothing like Kim Tan, and certainly not their style. For one, Dal Po has not yet indulged in ugly sweaters. And Dal Po hasn't verged into unwelcome possessive/stalker/passive aggressive mode, so...no go on there.

The toast kiss is sexier than the donut kiss.

Kim Woo Bin's eyebrows can probably go head to head with Kim Young Kwang's, but KYK's chaebol character is a far cry from Young Do's wounded angry carebear.

The resemblances you cite are superficial at best - and due to SBS being the broadcasting company for both. Kim Eun Sook's writing 'ability' is nowhere near Park Hye Ran's, and the director for Pinocchio helmed Gapdong, Cheomdang Alice, and I Hear Your Voice. Are you suggesting those dramas look like the Heirs as well?

Backhugs are a trope in Kdramas. I just really adore Pinocchio and Heirs was an epic fail for me, so for people to compare the two...it's laughable.

      • @Sobachan

Come on!! How many dramas have we seen just this year and We have not yet seen such a copy so far. which I find ok to be honest with you but you just can't deny the obvious reality.

And no we are not talking about personalities just hair style, clothes, and second lead.

Toast kiss, backhug and I'm 100% sure many heirs similar things will pop-up just wait.

        Obvious is obvious.

      • Eh? -_- I know it may look like Heirs because, well, the girl playing Cha Eun Sang is on the receiving end of that hug, plus there were one too many backhugs in that drama, but it's hardly fair to say the writer was, to quote you 'so heavily inspired by Heirs even a child can see through that'. Uhm. No. A few stills don't deserve that sweeping generalization, especially if backhugs are not uncommon in the drama world. Don't get me wrong, I'm probably one of the few who *liked* Heirs (hey, harmless drama whut don't judge me LOL) but even I can see that Pinocchio is leaps and bounds better.

      • Lol. Heirs PTSD much? I must have seen dozens of back hugs in kdramas: It's like piggyback rides or gratuitous shower scenes aka common fan service. If we talk sexuaL tension + food scene (it is NOT a kiss in my book), then I can think of TWTWB in 2013 & it aired before The Heirs. Quite sure I could find an earlier version if I had the time to skim the Internet.
As for the second lead: Yes they are both models turned actors but the characters are completely different: Mean traumatized angry HS boy with daddy issues versus childish gentle adult with overprotective mom.

    • You know that back hugs are one of the most used tropes of Korean drama's right? Heirs didn't invent them, actually there was a back hug in I hear your voice too, it was before Heirs. So should I say that Heirs is I hear your voice all over again?

  • The song playing in the background of the teaser sounds like the main OST from It's Okay That's Love.

  • So excited to watch this scene! Prediction about what happens: It looks like although creepy stalker guy takes In Ha to the hospital, Dal Po will make an appearance. Something must have happened for In Ha to run outside the hospital without her coat, which leads Dal Po to chase after her and wear her jacket for her in a traditional kdrama back hug....
