This is a perfect throwback Thursday post but the weekend is still suitable to take a present day ride into the heyday past. Three early Hallyu wave Korean stars showed up bright and bubbly to attend a recent Skincare brand event in Seoul and reminded me so much of why the first wave of K-dramas managed to be so addicting with star power. Jang Dong Gun, Kim Tae Hee, and Han Ji Min wowed with their unique style and aura, aging beautifully since their arrival on the Hallyu stage more than a decade ago.
I still remember Kim Tae Hee’s crazy turn in Stairway to Heaven, Han Ji Min as the younger Song Hye Kyo in All In, and who can forever Jang Dong Gun in All About Eve. Each has surpassed and improved on their initial success even as K-dramas have been taken over more and more by idols and young whippersnappers. I hope all three find suitable next projects to bring some classic star shine back to television.
This drama was apparently in talks with C-actor Ding Yu Xi before his just aired…
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…

Kim Tae Hee is mesmerizing in stills. But it's so painful to watch her act. Even she had shown improvement in "Jang Ok Jung, Live In Love", I still feel her acting is below par. Her drama "My Princess" was replayed on our local paid TV and I was cringing the whole time, futher worsen by her partner in crime, SSH.
I agree with you.
My Princess was pretty good. You need to stop all this personal vendetta.
10 years ago... i was so addict and remember all the names of the actors... now i still like watching it but there is so much new faces i don't even bother to learn their names (except a few ones). Yes they are aging in an cruel industry ...where a lot of actors have "disappeared".
Unfortunately, a lot of the top female stars are getting old. Hence, noona-romance.
I actually want to buy Kim Tae-hee's dress
'Hope Han Ji Min returns to my HDTV. She needs a comeback. :P
kim tae hee aged so hard I can barely recognize her...
