Ma Si Cun and Sheng Yi Lun Turn the Gender Tables on Hilarious Looking C-drama Oh My General
This upcoming period C-drama looks so bad it brings back memories of the hilarity of Go Princess Go, and then suddenly I’m more interested. It’s probably due to the costuming and same male lead in Sheng Yi Lun, as well as the equally ridiculous romance novel type of title of Oh My General, but this silly little C-drama has managed to pique my interest. There’s also female lead Ma Si Cun, coming off a Golden Horse Best Actress co-win with Zhou Dong Yu for Soulmate, she impressed me so much I want to watch her do something different in perhaps a fun role. Here she plays the titular General, the enemy nation slaying warrior who finds herself rewarded by the Emperor by being betrothed to the most self-absorbed good for nothing Prince. There’s a great gender twist plus the set up for dislike-turned-love that worked wonders in Go Princess Go. Check out all the unintentionally funny character posters as the drama drops sometime this year.

OMG!! This is Go Princess Go all over again!! I LOVE IT!!! I also watched Sheng Yi Lun Pretty Li Hui Zhen and he was quite alright.
Unintentionally..? Seemed pretty much deliberate. Wish they’d translated it literally as general on top!

Do not know how newcomer Peter Sheng is so lucky, this is his 5th and he is the male lead in everyone of them and he’s just started. What gives?
