Kim Ha Neul and Lee Do Hyun in Talks for jTBC Drama 18 Again

I feel like K-drama producers think that it’s been too long since a weird pairing and throw one out there to remind us. We have Joo Sang Wook and Kim Bora together in an upcoming drama, and now Kim Ha Neul and Lee Do Hyun are in talks for an early 2020 romance drama airing on jTBC called 18 Again. It’s the drama from the PD of Go Back Couple and not to be confused with an earlier youth drama of the same name. Judging from the noona/dongsaeng pairing, the title, and the PD, I’m guessing either time travel or life redux is in the story line so perhaps the big age difference is intentionally built into the narrative.

  1. I thought he was already cast in a popular webtoon adaptation? It was announced right after HDL ended. Was that project scratched? But if this is JTBC produced, who knows it might be another gem like The Light in your Eyes.

    • Sweet Home is currently filming for a July release but he isn’t the main role. This drama will very possibly be identical to the Zac Efron movie 17 Again.

  2. Over it and the show hasn’t even started. These out of sync pairings someone in K dramaland must be playing opportunity knocks guess who with actors right now. Then again I could be jumping the gun (I actually hope so) as it could be a mother and son story kinda like Freaky Friday.

  3. She looks like his aunt. No offense to Kim Ha Neul, but this casting gets a huge no from me. Even though actors may be far apart in age, they should at least be visually compatible, and in this case they are not. I personally, didn’t care for her acting in A Gentleman’s Dignity nor have I had any interest in watching any of her dramas since then. If Lee Do Hyun wants to build on the momentum from the hit drama Hotel del Luna, it would be wise of him to decline this offer.

  4. I’m not a fan of her acting and frankly he deserves a better costar. LDH is hot right now and has a lot of potential I’d rather see him and IU again.
