Some new Hyun Bin fans, courtesy of Crash Landing on You, probably may not even know that he was a red blooded marine in the South Korean military. His enlistment was for the hard core marine corps which you have to test into and doesn’t have easy rotations such as entertainment division or public service. Once you’re a marine you’re living the marine life for almost two years so watching Binne play a North Korean captain looked even more authentic because he paid those dues in person. A Japanese publishing house got in trouble this week when it tried to republish a photo book of Binnie’s marine days to capitalize on his CLOY popularity surge but had to pull it after being warned of copyright infringement. You think? Oh people, crass money grabs are so lame even if Binnie looks so hot above lol.
Binnie ah, it’s been almost 10 years since your military enlistment. I still remember the huge fuss that ensued when he enlisted. So many fans turning up to send him off. Binnie was almost in tears as he took his deep bow before riding off into the army sunset. He was even parodied in King To Hearts when his face appeared on a giant electronic billboard being ogled by North Korean officer Kim Hang Ah played by real life co-star HJW. So many fond memories. Lol.

I love Hyun Bin. His talent and acting skill is legendary. He works hard for the success he’s now enjoying. Add to that is his perfect looks that fits into any style. He shows to be polite too and accomodating to his fans. That’s why we love him and looks up to him with respect.
