February 2021 is going to be sick in terms of how many K-dramas on my radar will drop, and across the board different genres. The legal thriller craving will be filled by tvN drama Vincenzo, or more shall I say my Song Joong Ki craving. It’s still bizarre that he hit it big with fluffy Descendants of the Sun when really he’s been on a dark and melo roll in the years prior. I guess military service return does prompt some actors to change up their vibes and his landed him pan-Asia stardom and with it lots more scrutiny. Arthdal Chronicles was an ambitious misfire other than when he played the guyliner broody twin character haha don’t even remember the name but that was the only time I sat up and paid attention. This time for Vincenzo he doesn’t have guyliner but appears to have raided an Italian bespoke tailor’s closet which is fine by me. The new poster recalls total Godfather vibes and the new previews are just Song Joong Ki being intense and handsome.
Italian mafia indeed ???
He’s a very good-looking young guy but I’ve never seen him do an interesting sustained performance in a drama. I usually start out interested and after a few episodes wonder where the magic went.
I hope to see a little bit of Ma Roo in this new character 🙂
A broody intense actor with laser death glare would suit this Italian mafia role. However, I’m going to give SJK a chance to flex his acting muscles and prove me wrong. Thinking SJK would be better if he’s doing this in his late 30s, when he has aged a bit to lend more gravitas to the role. His baby-face handsome boy next door look is too distracting. Lol. All tongue in cheek humour.
SJK looks good but Teo Yoo could have been even more perfect for this role.
@romina, mamma mia I agree. TY also speaks fluent English & German. Learnt Russian for the movie Leto. Not too hard for him to speak Italian too. My heart melts for actors who’re multi-lingual. So sexy.
Agree with you.
