Kim Sun Ho to Make K-drama Comeback with Sageuk Romance Haesi’s Shinru From the Writer of Moonlight Drawn by Clouds

The Kim Sun Ho comeback train continues and honestly it’s being done in such a measured way one kudos to his agency. He did a stage performance in the fall and has resumed more interviews and CFs, and now he’s likely picking up his first K-drama since his October 2021 scandal paused his then red hot career. The drama is a sageuk romance titled Haesi’s Shinru (meaning a Mirage) and is from the same webtoon writer that wrote Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. This time it’s the romance between a crown prince that loves astrology and a mysterious woman who can see the future. Kim Sun Ho is an excellent actor and sageuks would be easy for him but I actually think he’s better in modern dramas but he only has one sageuk 100 Days My Prince under his belt so let’s see what he does as the male lead in a sageuk this time around.

25일 오후 2시 서울시 영등포구 영등포동 콘래드호텔에서 JTBC ‘으라차차 와이키키2’ 제작발표회가 열렸다.

Kim Sun Ho to Make K-drama Comeback with Sageuk Romance Haesi’s Shinru From the Writer of Moonlight Drawn by Clouds — 17 Comments

  1. Believe me if I say the roles of Crown Prince are like guaranteed ‘Roads of ways’ to success especially if the script is well made and accompanied by acting powerhouses.

Kim So Hyun ,becoming famous and winning Baeksang after ‘Moon Embracing the Sun’

Park Bo Gum, becoming famous and nominated for Baeksang after ‘Moonlight Drawn by Clouds’

Lee Junho, gathering massive praises and shot to stardom, bagging many awards after ‘The Red Sleeve’.

Now Moon San Min may be the next star to rise who is currently in ‘Under the Queen’s Umbrella’

The Crown Princes are Joseon version of Modern Chaebols and everybody seems to love them a lot. And don’t forget there are a lot of fans like me who is obsessed with Historical C and K dramas.

    • Lol nothing in this world is EVER guaranteed. Sure there are a lot of successes, but there are a lot of failures too. Just to name a few:

      Yoo Seung Ho – Mask
Yoo Ah In – Jang Ok Jung
Cha Eun Woo – Rookie Historian

Etc etc. point is, it could be good or bad in both modern and historical 🤷🏻‍♀️

  2. I have no real thoughts on him but The Shinru of Hash is my favorite novel after Moonlight Drawn By Clouds and I had other actors in mind for the main roles.

      • Hi! I read the novel in Korean and I got the books when I was in Seoul. 🙂 Not sure if you can read the novel online as well. There is also a webtoon if I recall correctly.

      • Oh okay. I’m always jealous of people who can read korean lol 😅
Will try to find the webtoon, thank you 🙂

      • Someone younger. The novel is youthful with serious undertones. But I also don’t want the drama adaption to function as a redemption drama for Kim Sun Ho.

      • “Someone younger” lol it’s always the tweenies thinking being in their 30s is ancient. Good lord of ageism spare us from these youths when they go into their late 20s 😂

      • That’s nonsense! I’m not in my 20s anymore. It’s about how I feel about what the cast should be in my opinion. Not about ageism. Things are not that deep. LMAO

  3. Well, Good luck to Kim Seon Ho. I hope he will be more sensitive to his future partner when the time comes that he has someone in a relationship again. The realization he learned from his past messy relationship will be his learning materials to be more successful in life and in his works . I hope he will have a better come back and all his projects will be successful because I believe he is a good man and a great actor.

    • I don’t know if he is a good man but he is a good actor . I like the concept of the drama .His life is a private matter . With that said, a lot of actresses and actors in the past lose their career for less than that . I suppose that South Korea’s entertainment industry is becoming less conservative . I hope that producers and viewers will be understanding about other actor’s “little” scandals too . They are people like us and nobody is perfect !

      • That being a ‘good man’, yeah we really didn’t know who Seonho is irl and just by reading those bad descriptions of him (with his ex-gf and with his colleagues) online make me to think again – is he really a good person? But , yeah, he is really a good actor. I watched all his previous dramas and to this date and he is one actor that would always touch my heart with his acting. For the topic, that’s their personal life – I hope these celebrities will more responsible in dealing with relationship and interactions with their co-workers in the set. Not only Seonho but all of them. 🫰

  4. I don’t know the original story but I loved MDBC drama. It’s so fun to watch the casting in Young Actors’ Retreat.

I have no doubt that he will be good as Crown Prince. I wonder you will be the FL.

    • Right! Don’t know about this new webtoon, but in case of MDBC the chemistry between the cast is what made the drama famous, not the cliche story.

  5. I’m glad he’s back. Now it’s time to cement his acting career and prove that he is not just made of popularity and I think he’s doing it since the film director he just finished filming with has cast him again in his next project.
