So word on the street is that Sword and Fairy, adapted from hit game Chinese Paladin 6, will be premiering soon. Maybe as early as this month in September, continuing the recent trend of airing a drama after getting a permit to avoid any unexpected snafus. The drama stars Yu Shu Xin (Esther Yu) and Xu Kai in what feels like a throwback to the OG Chinese Paladin in terms of young stars and their group wanderings in the wuxia world. I’m so glad I watched the trailer and saw these new posters and stills after watching My Journey to You because I’m now bona fide totally fine with Yu Shu Xin so her return to aegyo voice and personality here doesn’t make me want to spork my eyes and ears out. The drama looks classic harmless xianxia fare and will have a built in audience from the game and the popularity of the two young stars.
