  2. I support this 100%. After losing so many artists and actors to suicide, enough is enough. Something needs to change. It doesn’t have to be this way, and so I hope this is a constructive way to create change in the industry.

  3. I hope things will change. At least some people are trying to do something. I’m still pondering if I should watch much praised My Mister. I missed all the Kdrama including this one too during a hiatus. It doesn’t feel good knowing something horrendous happened to the deceased ML.

  4. The man was a serial cheater who got his affairs found out. And he decided to off himself instead of doing the responsible thing to and for his family. I would feel more sympathy if he didn’t do anything wrong. I think this is just the old boys club closing ranks and trying to protect some of its questionable members from being found out.

    • What about the blackmailers? They shouldn’t be charged because he was already a cheater?? Sure, he cheated, wrong to his fam, but doesn’t cheating happen everyday to ordinary people who we all probably know one or two? Still not a crime in most countries either. Only difference here is, he’s a public figure people can force judgment on without getting in trouble. You can’t deny how the media treated him wasn’t right. Step into his shoes, bet you’d have the same reaction he did. Sometimes people forget, they don’t walk in other people’s shoes. Wait until it’s actually your turn then you’ll realize damn I should have shut up about it.

    • His personal life is not your business or anyone else except his family. He was an actor, cheater or not – this has nothing to do with you.
Judging by your comment i can say that you don’t even know a clear info about his case. It wasn’t just a “cheating” but blackmail including drugs case, 3 months hate and a lot of pressure from police and media, plus interrogation for 19 hours without any proof.
Looking at that you wrote I think again that “old boys club” does the right thing.

  5. @Shelly
Wow. Infedelity is nobody’s businees except of his wife and family.

And you must be an angel whom is so pure, so righteous that you can moral policing others.

Everyone deserves a second chance esp in his case, a trangression that hurt no one except his family. Everyone deserves human rights that is privacy.

Next time you make mistake, I hope someone would broadcast for the world to judge. But then I guess you have no worry since you sound so perfect and pure.

  6. People getting heated up just because I don’t support or condone cheating and cheaters. Lol. If he hadn’t gone to that brothel and became its regular and VIP customer in case you all conveniently forgot then none of this would have happened at all. He would still have been an alive upstanding member of the ‘old boys club’. But he chose to follow his wayward little head and found out it has consequences and then decided not to confront it and his mistakes. Just one wrong decision after another.

    • Nobody’s condoning cheating, but if seems you’re condoning public smearing campaigns and forcing people to end themselves just so that your ego is satisfied. Despicable.

    • I think you should stop with this type of comment. It’s degrading, and it reflects not the person you commented on but the person you are. Cheating is wrong, but it does it condone what the public, police, media did to him.

There are so many points that your reasoning is flawed. Your comment sounds very biased, judgmental, unkind, and does not bring anything useful or positive to the table. I suggest you comment wiser, or refrain commenting on the subject at all.

      Because they look very immature.

    • @Shelley, wow! I hope you can repeat the same argument against yourself when ppl find your mistakes and broadcast to the public out loud. Unless you’re a perfect saint but I’m pretty sure you’re NOT! LOL

    • @Shelley THIS! LSK’s been working in the industry for what 20 yrs? He was no newbie idol who didn’t know what he was getting himself into. The entertainment industry mixed with brothels, drugs will bring out the worst in people. There’s no way he didn’t know greedy people with no moral compass would target him. Yet he chose to frequent this brothel, all the while doing CFs with his wife, portray the clean, loving family man image. Wrong decisions, one after another.

  7. The Police should stop at investigating drug crimes like it was the worst thing in the worl and let sexual crimes not punished.

19 hours of examination for one time he would have taken drugs when the report said he wasn’t an addict was completely wrong. It’s not normal. The fact the examination was made public when it was a private matter was wrong too.

  8. The man used brothels for f’s sake. Such a respectable establishment for a married man who made CF money off his supposed loving husband and family man image, ain’t it? Lol. And being such a regular and VIP customer at that, did he get special privileges? Did he get the pick of new girls? Were none of the girls minors? Or where they victims of human trafficking? Was it all consensual or were some girls drugged into submission so that they could satisfy VIP customers like him? So yeah, I’m no oppa apologist who choose to see him as a saint done wrong by the media. He’s the despicable one.

    • Aah yes! Its hilarious how ur running away with this wild fictional tale in which he’s progressed from being a cheater to now a p*dophile rapist! All the ironclad ~facts~ you’re barking were also pretty strategically released by the cops when they couldn’t pin him for drug charges after multiple tests and sensationalised by clickbait gossip rags for clowns like u to spread around and feel righteous over lol
Mind you, most of the stuff about him you’re spouting is based on twisted statements of the “””brothel””” madams who weren’t actually 2 year old infants but grown women blackmailing him out of greed.
The guy is dead. None of us have the actual facts about what went down because a free and fair trial was not allowed to happen. Get off your deluded high horse and get some help

    • I think you should heed my suggestion above; hence, refrain from commenting on the subject. Your comment on possible scenarios sounds like you’re on drugs yourself.

    • If the deceased was alive, you could have been sued for defamation by speculation. Why do you think you have the right to condemn them with your imagined scenarios when you won’t ever know the truth? And it’s none of your business, really.

Are you sure you’re not one of those netizens or media that took part in the incident? Let’s hope you’re not.

  9. LSK was a criminal
I think his friends are doing Hard work cleaning his image and reputation portraying him as innocent and as a victim
It’s clear for me they’re doing this because they commited crimes too and trying to stop the Police and The press of going further on them by being seeing as victims and get The General public’s compassion
I see it in my country all The time

    • This! People here seem to think he was having tea with the women in the brothels. Lol. And brothels being illegal in SK, of course they adhere to a code of ethics where the women are all of age, consenting adults who make a lot of money from this profession. Lol. If you believe that, here’s a bridge I want to sell you. Lol. Men like him contribute to the exploitation and abuse of women. And just because boohoo, he wasn’t man enough to fix his mistakes he suddenly becomes this saintly victim the oppa apologists coddle and protect. Weak women support weak men.

      • @Shelley
THIS! “Men like him contribute to the exploitation and abuse of women.” “Weak women support weak men.” So very well said!

  10. Police, medias,…covered this case as he was THE criminal . Ok, theu guy used drugs, perhaps was a cheater . So what ? Nobody is perfect , what he did was wrong but it was his private life . What about corrupt politicians who used our money, bullies who destroyed the life of our children, women who are sexually assaulted every day ???

  11. His case was handled very badly… I hope there will be huge changes to how cases that are still under going investigation be dealt with. there should be absolutely no leakage nor should there be huge media present when the accused are going to Police stations. This will just encourage witch hunting.

I will miss watching him on screen…I really enjoyed his projects. It is just very sad.

  12. I’m sorry but this strongly reeks of stinky male privilege, imagine did something wrong but still get this kind of privilege..I hope this association gives a wholehearted support and protection for Actress Jeon Hyejin too, because she needs it the most right now.

I do agree that the police investigation was a big mess, the police shouldn’t release all the details to the public like that, police need to make sure the drug related accusations are valid. But it’s so unpleasant to see that suddenly LSK is painted as ‘innocent’ here, the real victims are his family who is suffering tremendously. I can’t believe some people are justifying the cheating or whatever it is, him knowing the madame was already questionable. I don’t know from which part of the world some of you guys living in, because even commoner will be criticized by society for going to brothel especially for the married ones, at least for Asia people. Just because LSK was a reputable actor with few massive successful projects under his belt doesn’t mean that he can’t be accountable for his own choices and actions.

    • Hi career should be ruined, yes, because it’s expectable as he disappointed many. But not his whole life. I don’t think anybody is condoning his actions here re the cheating, but there are so many things coming into play here that led to the incident.

I’m not sure where and why you think he is painted as innocent. I don’t like misogyny, but even those who are dont deserve to a death sentence just because of it. It’s a skewed point of view, which may or not lead to actual criminal behaviors. It is morally wrong, but cheating (you may look at your own criminal code of your country) is not a criminal act but an act that is wrong based on the civil law (which allows the other party to get a divorce and perhaps an alimony). Using drugs is a sign of help. Selling, isn’t and should be criminally punished.

To summarize, I don’t think anyone here says the act of cheating is not wrong. Second, what people found shocking is how he was treated during the investigation of whatever that they investigated him. Third, he is a famous actor that brought so much fame to what used to be his country. Just as easy as they could cancel them, viewers in other countries which loved him for his ability to bring joy to the screen can also cancel the whole nation based on how they treated their fellow countrymen, and the actor they came to love, too (which case I hope it doesn’t happen).

Being righteous is important; but being kind and reasonable is critical. I can’t say for anyone else, but my time investment in K media dropped significantly (now turned to American and other country dramas). It’s gobsmacking to see how people in his home country treated him after what they he have done for them on a global scale.

Are you sure there was no jealousy being at play? My Australian friend thought so.

      • If you have time, read what some comments above and also on other portal sites, there are so many enablers. They call cheating as just a mistake and everyone can make s mistake..? I’m married and I won’t call cheating as a mistake, it’s a sin! And sorry to say, LSK was not the only one in Parasite who is known globally, other actors too talents come and go..Unfortunately foreigners don’t have much to say in this matter even if they feel themselves important because for them, their honour in their home country is more important. They won’t care if any foreigners claim themselves to less consume their entertainment, it doesn’t impact them.

Whose jealousy did you mean? Are there makjang elements here? Care to explain? Honestly I don’t care much for LSK as an actor, but I’m always a fan of Jeon Hyejin (his wife) as an actress. I feel that this is so unfair for her. Presumably that his death was his own extreme choice and no foul play involved, can’t you see the biggest victims in all of these are his wife and his sons? Those influential men who stand on the podium demanded for whatever it is, I hope they have the same energy to protect Jeon Hyejin too, please. Or else it just seems like they protect their own kinds – male privilege to the core.

I’m not in any way to condemn the deceased, he did wrong but how I wished he can make it up for his family for everything he put them through, but unfortunately things already happened, no one knows what is the core reason he made the extreme choice.

    • @Purple_daisy
THIS! The police investigation was handled poorly. And that’s something the country needs to get together to change. As for the media, it is their job to report news. How kind their words were, I wouldn’t know. You bet they’ll focus more on the celebrity over the commoner. In the end, LSK made his own choice to take his own life. He is accountable for his own choices and actions. So many irrational commenters here lashing out. It’s sad.

      • @Peppa, accusing ppl of violations of law while everything is still under investigation is way more irrational than having sympathy with someone’s death. You’re screwed! Sorry no offense!

    • To say LSK is painted innocent by many commenters here is stretching a point. Whether he’s guilty of any accused crimes or committed affairs, that’s his private life and privacy. There should be boundary when we judge public figures. Do we criticize his/her professional works and ethics or do we accuse him of something harmful he might have done in his private life that is still under investigation? The latter should belong to his privacy and there are laws protecting in the West to protect that privacy while jury is still out; nobody should cross this boundary. But a lot of us don’t see that kind of privacy is respected by the SK police, media, and netizen mobs. Therefore, we don’t think this kind of cultural practice is humane nor civilized. Don’t get confused!

      • I guess some are just unreasonable- meaning unable to reason with, so we should let them be. I’m sure they are as pure as gold, became successful so much that they have time to hate public figures. Their contribution to the society is so great that it brings about positive changes to the world. They do volunteer as well- police public figures around even without being paid.

I’ll not post any more comments. Seeing that there are many who are reasonable here is good enough.

    • unfortunately that is indeed a privilege he had cuz after his death suddenly he’s innocent of everything.

Cheating? pft that’s his private life . Visiting brothel? maybe he just went there for some eye candy lol. These are the excuses that all these people will actually live by just for the sake of keeping his reputation.

  13. they can easily forgive cheater(s), don’t even care when SA cases exist but all hell loose if they ever get tangled with drugs.

  14. people here can actually ignore the fact that this guy admitting that he went to a brothel house to get laid. lol, where is your moral honestly?

  15. all his supporters who support him can go to h**l with him cuz non of u actually deserve a sweet time on Earth with that mindset.

  16. My sympathy is with his family and his family only. They are the ones suffering from the consequences of his actions and choices.
