So this is an unsurprising and could really happen and I think both sides fan would be happy. C-ent casting rumors have Luo Yun Xi in talks for a S+ level drama and his side is very interested to cast Bai Lu as the female lead. If this casting happens it would be their third time together after Love is Sweet and Til the End of the Moon. The drama is still early in development and would not even start filming until year end at the earliest so scheduling wise it also could work. Apparently Luo Yun Xi and Bai Lu’s respective fandom actually like their stars working together, no jostling for power or tearing the other side down, and from their track record each outing has been a hit so why not go for round three with the right script.

Contrary to what is written here, BL and LYX’s fandoms are always in each other’s throats. Even before TTEOTM aired. But the enjoyers drowned them during airing. They’re at it again with this melon, it’s just their fanwars aren’t highlighted by melon accounts as much as other fanwars.

Honestly, he’s gonna need to find something else to fall back on because he is clearly so talented but unfortunately hasn’t had any other Luck as a leading man w/out BL. I think they have incredible chemistry despite not really compatible physically (meaning they look better w/ others). But I hope his other dramas are hits.
He doesn’t work on serious projects and is getting on in years. But he is smart and is already working hard on the production side so he will be ok.
To be perfectly frank – he is too sickly looking for a versatile career. Age is typically not an issue for male actors but I don’t think time will be kind to him. If possible, he should devote some time to bulking up.

Oh sorry for not being precise. I was talking about costume dramas that he has been doing lately. Those do have an age upper limit, he can’t just keep playing gods and immortals in his 40s. Of course, other genres are different.
You are absolutely right that it’s far more restricting for women. The other day when Michelle Chen was filmic Zanghai lots of cnetz were pretty ruthless in their comments, even though it’s not a xianxia etc. And she is playing the ML’s mother. It’s crazy. Who exactly is supposed to play such a role, a 17yo?! Plus she looks amazing. Smh
I don’t know if they do screen tests for chemistry, but if they don’t, they need too. I’d rather Luo Yunxi work with a promising unknown actress he can melt the screen with, than him getting paired with a known actress he has no chemistry with. I keep looking at the trailer for Night Wanderer hoping it will air because that is the onscreen chemistry I wish I saw more of in dramas. Just love seeing the chemistry between a mature man and a mature woman. It’s has nothing to do with age. Wang Xing Yue has already delivered that maturity in spades. Deng Lun and Ni Ni just give off that classing leading man and leading woman energy. They need to find an actress who is captivating and pair her up with Luo Yunxi.
That will be good… I like them together.

I will never get enough of these two. Chemistry for the win. I hope their reunion is true. They have such amazing chemistry together. I’m having flashbacks to their behind the scenes for Love Is Sweet. Any two actors that have top tier chemistry should have as many reunions as they want to IMO. I rather have that then sitting through a whole series with a new pairing that’s truly lacking in that department. Bai Lu just truly goes all in. She really reminds me of Yoon Eun Hye in that way. Fans can moan and groan, but I want to see her reunite with Xu Kai too. I don’t even care about rumors that they dated either.
I’m really hoping for this to be true. If it’s not on the horizon at the moment, hopefully it happens at some point. I’m willing to wait while they continue to do their other projects (Which I’m also excited for. I like their individual works too) But their chemistry in both Love is Sweet and Till The End Of The Moon was pretty amazing and special. So I’m definitely here for a third drama. Maybe a different genre that what they’ve done previously.
