March 2024 C-drama Douban Ratings Out with War of Faith Leading the Pack at 7.8 and Dark Horse In Blossom with Surprisingly Low 5.5 Ratings
The two unexpected surprise C-dramas of March 2024, by which I mean the expectations were low and promos next to none, have come out with diametrically opposite Douban ratings. The spate of March 2024 C-dramas have gotten their opening Douban ratings this week and the highest rated is republic era spy drama War of Faith with Wang Yibo and Li Qin at 7.8. That’s followed by The Legend of Shen Li with Zhao Li Ying and Lin Geng Xin opening with a decent 7.2. The cheesy looking xianxia C-drama Burning Flames with Allen Ren and Xing Fei got a better than expected 6.3, I was thinking lower than that. And that lower than that went to dark surprise hit In Blossom with Ju Jing Yi and Liu Xue Yi getting a measly 5.5 which is really surprisingly since all the chatter about the drama is how much better it was compared to expectations. What do you guys think, agree or disagree on any of these being too high or too low? I’ve only watched Shen Li in its entirety and I think 7.2 is on the spot. It’s good but not great.
I didn’t watch the other 3, but I did check out In Blossom. I loved everything about that drama except JJY especially the way how it was shot to the choice of their color clothes to the color palette of the show. JJY was somewhat tolerable to me only because I’ve never seen her in anything else as I always avoided her dramas but her makeup did bother me so much.
Rating r never genuine no matter how prestigious it is except ur own rating. Because at the end of the day it boils down to baised and antis.
Upon that numbers r influenced by lot of things especially in entrainment that has lot of all kinds of audiences.
Watch and enjoy the show that interests u enough to complete it.
I agree with the ratings for all of them except In Blossoms, which wasn’t that bad. War of Faith, I rate an 8, maybe 8.2.

Watched Shen Li and still watching War of Faith-liked both 8.0 and 8.3 respectively. There are lots of dramas out right now, so will skip In Blossom and Burning Flames. Really don’t like Xing Fei, same wide eyed look in every frame.

Love the Legend of Shen Li. There as so much effort put into it, and it was clearly shown! I’m so happy for their success! I would have gave it 8 out of 10 over all, this is one now one of my fav romance fantasy drama! The two of them have such an amazing chemistry! Good job!
if the 5.5 was on JJY’s acting alone, it might be fair. but the overall drama should be rated higher than that. the rest of the cast was decent, the cinematography was good, and the story set up was actually interesting.
JJY may not be a serious actress but at least she is not shameless like queen of waterarmies and queen of the trash bin. Your stuff is trashy but gets good reviews only. Other people’s stuff are better but get tons of attack. That only proves, nobody attacks you but only you attack others. Some people are shameless to no extent.
War of FAITH is realy great!!
