Production of C-drama Night Wanderer with Deng Lun and Ni Ni Reportedly to Air Drop Drama and then Pull It Quickly Following The Spirealm Method

I think production sitting on long finished but unable to get airing permit C-dramas should quickly do this method before it’s fully outlawed. C-ent is reporting the Night Wanderer with the cancelled Deng Lun and Ni Ni is readying to air drop the drama before pulling it like BL-drama The Spirealm did earlier. Recently there was talk that another BL-drama Winner is King is about to the same. I forgot about Night Wanderer since while I like both leads I’m fine whether this drama airs or not, but it does look good with the time travel element and how artistic the early promos were before Deng Lun got into his tax evasion scandal and was never able to mount a comeback. I don’t know how serious these dramas are in trying to air drop but if it happens at least the rumors were on point.

  • Does that mean international fans would find it or not? So weird that they do this but I don’t blame them.

    • Fans will be quick as lighting to download all the episodes the moment they airdrop. This means they will circulate all over the internet and us international fans will also have access to them as well :)

    • He’s blacklisted internally, so this is the rumoured compromise solution for the production (and other productions featuring internally blacklisted actors) to recoup their capital - by releasing it internationally but not locally. I would speculate this would involve preventing the locals from accessing the show by some firewall but that’s what vpn is for l, I don’t know just some thought anyway these are just rumours so I’ll only believe it when it happens. But I’m definitely looking forward to it, I really like both of them.

  • Not happening.

Do you really think platforms can just airborne these as they see fit, after the Chinese government has banned them for law breaking and they will just sit back and watch?

    • Exactly, Im not sure why Koala's Playground keeps festering these rumours that "Banned BL dramas or dramas starring tax evaders are gonna very soon 1!11!" when anyone with common sense knows they are not going to air anytime.

Either Koala does this to get views and clicks deliberately or she genuinely lacks common sense. Companies can't just airdrop and withdraw a drama without getting future penalties or fines, if they keep pulling such stunts Chinese media authorities will get involved and your company will be shut down for ignoring the law. It's not worth getting into trouble with SAFRT to air some Deng Lun drama unless you're some 6 year old who can't think straight but apparently Koala thinks all these banned dramas will air because her readers are naive and will buy such tall tales?

      • Don't remind me of the 10000 articles about how Prisoner of Beauty will airdrop every month lol

      • At this point, Koala is one of those Twitter melon accounts with better Chinese to English translation than Google.

  • What's the purpose of announcing the air drop. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of surprising everyone and quickly getting past the censorship? Wouldn't people then be on the look out for it and therefore report it or whatever.

    • i mean thats cos these airdrop rumors are mostly fake. the real ones like spirealm drops without notice.

  • I can never understand the cancellation due to tax-related misconducts. Did he finally pay off the tax he has owed? If yes, why still banning him? Even he hasn't paid off his tax due yet, the drama was a product out of collective efforts from many many ppl irrelevant to his tax evasion. So the logic of the Chinese authority is telling you the whole production team including investors deserve collective punishment for the wrong doings of one single actor. Wow! Isn't that similar to egregious punishment in outdate antient court systems?
The government banning his dramas cos of tax evasion is blowing it out of proportion LOL.

Deng Lun is a good actor. Such a pity.

    • I find Deng Lun born into this ricebowl...He had teething years but he just gets better and he has a natural flair on camera. It is a pity.

    • It's called breaking the law. He owed millions and he had several chances to give back that money and he refused.

Now maybe you are into the rich playing dumb and ignoring the law but anyone with common sense understands why holding them to account is a good thing.

      • @Lol, Did he refuse to pay the taxes? Surely that would be a crime if he refused to comply with tax repayment. But if he already paid off, then cancelling him afterwards is just a stretch.

You don't need to gaslight me. Your 2nd paragraph is excessive making no useful argument. All the valid points have been said in the first paragraph. LOL.

      • @Somebody

Yes, he refused to pay taxes and had to be forced into it by law.

        Keep d-riding the rich. Pathetic.

  • I truly hope this happens. I see very few dramas where you have mature lead characters paired together in a mature romance drama with their level of onscreen chemistry. If it does get released, I hope Viki picks it up just like they picked up The Spirealm. I hope this happens for Immortality as well. I don't see why the cast and the crew that put in so much hard work should have to suffer because of one person. I understand if they can no longer take on future projects, but anything that's already been filmed should be released. I

  • These rumors need to stop. Stop giving fans false hope. There was rumor that prisoner of beauty was going to be air dropped and pulled off but never happened. This stunt only happened once to a show and the show wasn’t even banned in the first place or popular enough to draw huge attention from the government.

  • I wish this melon were true. I like Deng Lun and love Ni Ni. Together, they should be FIRE. Sigh. It's just wishful thinking.
