I most recall soju brands putting their spokesmodel actress or idol starlet on the bottles labels in addition to the brand advertising and it definitely sells well. K-actor Byun Woo Seok will now have his face on a pack of Paldo instant noodles the Paldo Bibimmyeon II that looks like chapaghetti with more dried veggies in it. Paldo announced that the products with his image launched just 5 days ago and has sold 1 million units, reaching that mark two whole weeks ahead of the scheduled sales volume. Dang, Byun Woo Seok is absolutely backing up his endorsement fee and then some.

I laughed out loud when I saw the picture on the instant noodle. Thank God we don’t put peoples faces on our instant noodles here. It just creeps me out. Not hating on the actor though.
I like Paldo Jin ramen (mild ver.), might as well see what the hype is about this
it’s a good gauge of his popularity, looks like he is totally going to get those PPL deals and the dramas to go with them. Good for him the airport fiasco didn’t derail that.
The package will be torn off and thrown in the garbage bin, will never understand how some ppl brains work
I never understand how testimonials work for advertisements. I mean they clearly do for SK given actors promote products there a lot but in reality if a celebrity is selling me something, I’m less likely to buy it because they’re paid for selling it. I have no guarantee of the product myself, why should I buy it for a face I see on tv.
It’s for a fans who want to support their faves. How I think it works with this instant noodle: some person went to the shop to buy instant noodle, and they decided to by the one BWS promotes, because they like him/his face or they’re his fans.
Reading your comment I remembered about tik-tok video with two male-tourists in Korea. They filmed bottles of water in korean shop with celebrities faces on the labels. They laughed about such ad, but still chooses the bottle with Ma Dong Seok face.
Fans would be happy to buy an eraser with the face of their heartrobbs. LOL. I’ve seen it in my country.
Looks like it’s the first time that instant noodles put a celebrity’s face on their packaging. Seems to have done the trick as the noodles are selling like hot cakes. Wonder if other noodle brands will follow suit. Until now celebrities only appear in TV endorsements for noodles.
BWS fans are going all out. I hear that Clinique is doing very well too in sales. Paldo is going to do a live sales pitch on the internet soon, the first for a noodle company.
Im waiting for his next drama. Heard it will be with BP’s Jisoo. Well, Jisoo is collecting the it boys. First with Jung Haein and now with BWS.
Honestly i don’t think, BWS can carry a drama. But hey, i might be wrong.
I’ve tried some korean instant noodles but i prefer the one from my country. But his fans will love his pic on it.
If it’s with Jisoo, I’m more worried about her and her questionable acting skills. This guy had an agreeable performance in Lovely Runner, even though it was hard to finish the drama because it was slow going for me.
It’s not as if I his fans are going to treasure the packaging.
When I was a teenager, there were classmates of mine who collected anything that had the faces of their idols on it. In Japan we saw a lot with Takeshi Kaneshiro.
Takeshi is a freaking legend so I’m not surprised by that! He’s one of my favorite East Asian actors, in that he’s humble and knew how to navigate a private life despite his huge talent. I too would buy anything with his face on it, lol
I remember watching house of flying dragons and wondering how is this actor Takeshi sooo good looking. He also had a magnetic performance.
i dislike him.
I’m so glad. Bws fighting 💕💕
I don’t consider him to be a stunning beauty from East Asia (as the media calls him), but I liked how he acted in Lovely Runner, so I’ve considered following his career to see how it develops.
This is funny. LOL.
Imagine if the product were bath tissues, not instant noodle. LMAO
