Dilraba Dilmurat and the Production of Xianxia C-drama Love Beyond the Grave Nonplussed with Fandom Complaints and Continue Forward with Existing Costuming

It’s clear that sometimes stars and their own fandoms don’t align on the same perspective or wants and in the case of C-drama Love Beyond the Grave it’s a matter of reality versus ideal. Female lead Dilraba Dilmurat‘s huge fandom has been kicking up a storm for two weeks kvetching about her unflattering costumes, hairpieces, and makeup. TBH they have a point, it’s rather mid at best and fugly at worst, but harassing the production and anyone involved including investors and supporting stars isn’t the way to go about it. Now industry insiders are saying nothing is changing with the mapped out costuming, this is a S+ budget drama but compared to what would be a S+ budget years ago in the heyday of money pouring into the industry its about a quarter of that to be now considered top budget, hence it’s not surprising to see costumes being recycled and repurposed between dramas. As for Dilraba’s makeup and hairpieces being unflattering as well, her side appears to be fine with it and doesn’t act like she’s being mistreated on set and complaining, so all the chatter is solely from her fandom.

  2. They can’t change it now even if they wanted. It doesn’t matter, this was done to try and properly up the Nepo baby anyway. She doesn’t care, she got her money for it.

    • If she doenst care she needs to start caring because chinese actors get downgraded after many misses. They can still have many endorsements and activities but top scripts won’t be offered to them. Especially now that every analyst and gossip sites are saying that money is low on dramaland. These S+ budgets are not really exoensive, they are just marketing that way.

  3. @Lizzy8
She needs to start care about hairstyle? Top scripts won’t be offered to her because of hairstyle and dresses? What a joke

    • Its not about hairstyle that i commented.@Meh says in the comment this a drama “to prop the nepo baby she got her money and doenst care ” if this a favor drama, something done sometimes in cdramaland i dont see how this is beneficial to DLRB career. She still needs to do the best she can and they shouldnt mess up the script. Of course our comments are just speculations and we dont know what goes on in these artists heads.

      • DD, don’t have the power to mess up the script, that the script writer job. Hers is to act the part she is suppose to. For a good drama it depends a good job on every in the production team to do their part well.

  4. Can’t change anything that’s planned and created. Fans can simply not watch and so the ratings fail and so the next one will be better planned. The costumes look awful.

    • The shows this year haven’t been able to bring in much profit like before, even with the shows that were successful this still didn’t really hit that mark that producers and investors want. This year has seen a poor performance overall in c ent , it making it hard for producers to get investors into their show.

  5. She seems professional and unproblematic so I’m sure she’s not gonna kick up a big fuss over this. And honestly, even ugly costumes and hair can’t make her look bad. Tbh I found Luo Yunxi’s colorful feathery costumes for Shui Yong Yin more offensive than this!
