Song Joong Ki Cheerful and Glowing at First Appearance Promoting K-movie Bogota After Announcing Arrival of Second Child

Dang, fatherhood absolutely suits Song Joong Ki, he’s like reverse aging and radiating so much happiness it’s contagious. The actor was in Seoul this week for the press conference of the thriller movie Bogota: City of the Lost with costars Lee Hee Joon and Kwon Hae Hyo. It’s his first public appearance since announcing the arrival of his second child with wife Katy a few weeks ago. The movie will be released in theaters at the end of December but I’m glad he’s getting all the promos done and can spend the holidays enjoying being a family of four at home.

    • What that’s crazy, the man is 40 and he looks like he is in his early 30’s. He is beyond aging well, it would be unnatural if he looked any younger. It’s already unrealistic for someone his age to look like that.

  1. Reminds me of My Sweet Gangster… there was that one thug that wore feminine clothing with a pearl necklace that just did not gel well for me lol it was distracting. I guess it is a trend for men to dress more feminine wear now in korea.

  2. He has such a terrible cordi because what in the world is he wearing?! Good god that looks awful and I’m sorry but SJK is the opposite of “aging well” to me seriously. Regardless, he does look extremely happy and content which matters far more.

Anyway this movie was first announced 4 years ago (earlier than even Wonderland) so it’ll be interesting to see how it does.

  3. This has been sitting on the shelf for ages, no? I remember it ws announced pre-Covid even and he finished filming it right after Vincenzo which was way back in spring 2021 but it’s only being released a three and a half years later? Seem like it’s going to be a flop.

Was his stylist inspired by somebody’s grandma? What is that shirt/blouse/cardigan/jacket thing? And the weird semi-mullet hairstyle?

  4. What is this horrid jacket?

And idk something is off about his face. I think he needs to lay off the treatments a bit, he is too plastic.

      • I agree!! They are just a bunch of haters!! He is a fine looking man and LV clothing are always gaudy looking… I’m happy he found someone to love

  5. I see how some netizens still like to bring up song song now and then compare but shk still looks very beautiful for her age but sjk looks like his looks are going downhill after his second marriage came out

  6. Not a fan of his styling here but he does appear reverse aging to me. I’ve never been a fan of his visuals more on feminine side. Nonetheless, his past record of acting outweighs his looks and I will certainly pay attention to all his dramas. Not a fan of K movies though.

      • Agreed about his feminine looks. But interestingly, he can nail manly characters dang well full of charisma, ex. Descendants of the Sun and Vincenzo. That shows he’s an excellent actor.

  7. Omg I’m reading all these comments abt SJk not aging well and can’t agree more, he looks like grandma that wants to look like 20 year but can’t cause his face all frozen because of all injections .

  8. It’s the baby face – it ages so so so poorly and SJK is definitely no exception. He looks like 40+ trying really hard to look young and it’s not working with the face, or that Chanel grandma looking outfit.

    • Leonardo diCaprio and the model Gemma Ward some more examples of baby faces not aging well. The only exception is when the person has a great bone structure underneath to provide “support” and prevent the face from getting that doughy, saggy look. An example of someone who has a baby face but has a good bone structure is Miranda Kerr, who is aging well despite having a baby face

  9. You guys talk shit because you are not satisfied with something that you don’t have control to do try to sound really smart he is looking niece at least dont try to sound very much like it affects if professional work then watch the movie if personal then insnt he inviting you to his family dinner so stay if you want stop criticizing if you dont know how it works

  10. I dont find him radiating and happy!! Of course he will smile in front of the cameras and try to look happy!! Every actor does that!! But comparing to his previous public outings, he looks tired and so skinny!! You can tell that he is having a hard time in his personal life!! All thus year, he hasnt been in top form!! His style is horrible!!Looks like a grandma

  11. He looks absolutely radiant 🌟—it’s wonderful to see him so full of life and thriving with his second wife. After everything he’s been through, this new chapter with his growing family is truly heartwarming ❤️. Wishing him all the happiness in the world, and considering Korea’s declining birth rate, I hope they keep adding to their beautiful family! He’s not just glowing—he’s contributing to the nation!

    • @vlive: Both his kids were born and are primarily domiciled in Italy so their births contribute to the Italian birth rate rather than South Korea.

South Koreans will be watching carefully in 18 years to see whether his son decides to take Korean citizenship and complete his mandatory military service or choose Italian citizenship and avoid it. I remember netizens were convinced Rain and KTH’s second child was a boy because they bought a US property when he was pregnant and she was going to have him in America to get him out of mandatory military service (apparently, a lot of wealthy Korean families do this) but turned out they were wrong as she had a girl in Seoul.

    • Every time someone links birth to “contributing to a nation” I wanne puke. It runs cold showers down my spine.
Considering over population, environmental issues, limited resources and millions of starving people (children!) that is so outrageous and dated, I can’t even.
It also implies a very nationalistical and extrem right-wing agenda to have children for the “nation”.
BTW, I’m German. We used to give out graded medals of honor to mothers who “contribute” (aka gave birth) to at least four children to / for the “nation” and history knows where that mindset led to eventually …

      • @eJc— Wow, I didn’t realize celebrating a happy family moment could trigger such a dramatic reaction!Sure, overpopulation and environmental issues are real concerns, but you might want to check the stats—many countries, like Korea, are actually bracing for population decline in the next 30-50 years. When we’re old and need someone to run the world (or just fix our tech), we might appreciate those babies being born now. But hey, if imagining medals and extreme agendas helps you sleep at night, who am I to judge?”

      • I made it obviously clear, that I’m taking about interlinking having children to “contributing to the nation!”. A dangerous territory. Not about a private happy moment. If you want to missunderstand me, feel free. It’s one thing to have a family and children and a totally diffrent to make that about the “nation”. What I said in my previous comment are facts. So, encouraging people to have more and more children is not the answer. And yes, a lot of countries have an over aging society that leads to problems (like mine does). However, there are more possible solutions than preaching to have more kids. The purpose of having children shouldn’t be about “contributing to the nation”. It should be about the kids. Not what they are good for in the future. It should be a sensible decision. Not politically or religiously motivated, for applause or due to peer pressure.
If you wanted to celebrate the happy occasion why link it to the nation. The way you said “he’s not just glowing – he’s contributing to the nation!” is used as an intensification of him becoming a father again. Which , BTW, is to be honest a small achievement in comparison to his wife giving birth. She should be celebrated over the moon.

      • @eJc–I thought a nation starts from family—it’s the foundation of any society, after all. Families shape communities, and communities build nations. So, what’s wrong with encouraging people to have more kids, especially when a country is facing a serious population decline? In places like Korea, where birth rates are at a historic low, this isn’t just about abstract statistics– it’s about real challenges that will affect future generations, from economic stagnation to the strain of an aging population on healthcare and social systems.

Encouraging parenthood in such contexts doesn’t have to be political or religious—it can simply be about raising awareness of the importance of balancing population trends for the longterm health of a nation. And no, this doesn’t mean pressuring people or dictating their personal choices. It’s about creating a society where having children is supported and celebrated, not discouraged or shamed.

At the end of the day, having children is a personal decision, but it’s one that inevitably impacts society. Recognizing the connection between families and the future of a nation isn’t about coercion—it’s about understanding the bigger picture and supporting those who choose to contribute in their own way

  12. My goodness…he’s an amazing actor, loving husband and father…who gives a hoot what he’s wearing. He can afford to wear whatever he wants. Why be such haters?
Cheer him on for his successes!
I’ve seen him when he’s wearing whatever he wants when he’s hanging with his family and he is styling and very manly.
Just write it off as not his best outfit without tearing him down on all sides. Just sayin.

  13. These are the more flattering photos, the ones on other sites are worse. He does not look good for someone only 40. People say his built is like a kid from far away, but his face is an ajumma up close.

    • Judging and criticizing someone’s looks is exactly what’s wrong with social media these days. It’s like people are expected to look pitch-perfect 24/7 just to avoid being picked apart. Heaven forbid someone doesn’t meet your impossible standards—otherwise, it’s open season for judgment. Maybe take a good look in the mirror before handing out critiques?

  14. I didn’t see such disgusting comments for a long time. Was surprised to read all that under so positive article. Whatever you want to talk about k-netizens, guys, first look in the mirror.
So obsessed with age and with look, ugh.

  15. I didn’t see such disgusting comments for a long time. Was surprised to read all that under so positive article. Whatever you want to talk about k-netizens, guys, first look in the
    mirror.
So obsessed with age and with look,
ugh. I guess gossips about his personal life are old deal, so what else you can discuss, lol, definitely not his movie.

    • Lol boo f**king hoo 😂
Y’all had no problem scrutinizing older actresses and saying their wrinkles are already showing and blah blah blah (if you don’t believe me, check out the comments in Song Hye Kyo articles in this site). But if it’s a man, y’all be crying in the comment section 😂

I guess it’s really true that most kdrama fans are men-obsessed women who would rather hype up mediocre and average-looking men than hype up beautiful, talented actresses. It’s sad.

Women have been scrutinized for their appearance since forever. Interesting how y’all never call out how disgusting that is 🤔

  16. The disgusting comments about whether he is looking happy or is aging well or not are so transparent from which direction they’re coming from.

He looks tired? Of course. He got one child and a new baby at home and probably flew over from Italy. Like please get a life you all.

He looks happy and well and that’s all that’s important.

  17. I didn’t realize SJK had so many people who didn’t like him… Anyway, I don’t really see him extra radiant or looking too terrible. I don’t understand fashion and was never a huge fan of LV, especially after Pharrell took over. Even if he is looking haggard or tired, he did just have a baby… newborns are well known to not sleep much so completely understandable!

    • After his divorce fiasco, he has many haters. Are you surprise? Lol… I’m not saying he didn’t have haters before. But after the divorce, many fans seems turn into haters lol.

      • I guess I am kind of surprised. I don’t really follow celebrity personal lives and subsequent reaction from the public. I know they’re divorced, read it, maybe commented on the unfortunate event and moved on.

  18. It’s the fit of the Jacket. It wasn’t tailor-made to fit. his personal style. The neck and collar are all wrong. A short vest and vee’d neckline would be more masculine. Come on Vincenzo! 😂🙏🏾♥️

    • LMAO!🤣 Right? Vincenzo would be appalled🤣

I always thought if his team was smart they would base his style on Vincenzo and have aimed for an ambassadorship with a classic Italian’s gentleman’s brand like Armani, Zegna, Tod’s, Panerai or something like Tom Ford’s Men’s line. He does not work for Louis Vuitton at all. Every single fit he has worn from them has him looking foolish.

      • Louis Vuitton pays the most $$$.

None of the LV ambassadors look good, except for Zendaya, and that’s only because she built it into her contract that she doesn’t need to wear LV exclusively.

      • @Sunny, I can’t disagree with your assessment of the fashion choices that might work on SJK. I also think a classic Italian brand like Armani or Tod’s may elevate his physique.

  19. Such a juxtaposed look… he had the face of a pretty young boy… and the jacket makes him look like an Ahjuma.

If he is a walking advertisement… it is definitely causing me to run the other direction.

  20. Poor guy, so harsh comments about him . No wonder that depression is part of an actor’s life . But i think that stars should avoid luxury brands that don’t fit them . But it’s all about money .
