Kim Soo Hyun Holds Tear-filled Press Conference and Denies Dating Kim Sae Ron When She Was a Minor and His Side Suing Her Family and Garo Sero Institute, Which Responds with Video of Him Eating at Her Place Meta Data Stamped 2018 and More Dating Pictures — 69 Comments

  1. what a evil hypocrite, as i said yesterday there is no way he admit
and it bring more proof like Sulli brother say, enjoy all the way down from up there
Should release the earliest video when she was 15 and it will be check mate

  2. As someone posted on Reddit, “He drained her soul since she was 15 and her bank account since she joined his agency.” He IS the worst of scammers. Scammers are good actors. The poor girl was very unlucky that she caught this heartless man’s eye. No matter what he does and who he sues, it’s over for him in the industry.

  3. He did respond to all the videos and pictures – mainly that it was all taken while they were dating and not during the time when she was a minor. Whether one believes it or not is entirely a different point. The questions were specifically on the kakaotalk messages. So far, GM has refuted every single pic and vid as anything earlier than when KSR turned into an adult so it’s going to be played out in the courts.

Interestingly, I’ve been reading article comments in Naver (on the business side where comments are allowed) and it’s actually 50-50. Lots of defence for KSH which surprised me and I’ll gladly share the link here for anyone interested. I forgot community comments can be skewered. Real has also taken #1 spot for most watched movie in all OTT platforms in Korea despite how garbage it is. Clearly driven by the controversy, the performance somehow shot up incredibly so it’ll be interesting how Disney proceeds. Purely from a business standpoint, it might be beneficial for them to release Knockoff soon. So far none of their dramas are doing anything. So it may in fact be better of riding the scandal. Bad publicity over none. Who knows.

Right now it’s a he said she said. I felt KSH came across as slightly cold towards his ex, but then again, I don’t know how they broke up and don’t really care. As for him dating her as a minor or not, I’m staying neutral because the courts are there for a reason. This YouTuber is clearly sensationalizing everything and loving every second of it. TBH, I’m technically am more inclined to believe KSR’s side. And it’s not due to the pics or vids but the letters she wrote him but didn’t mail. Those felt real rather than fabricated but I made the same mistake several times in other celebrity scandals. I took someone’s side only to be proven completely wrong. Don’t want to make that same mistake again so I’ll wait for the court judge to make the call. KSH asked to basically bring it on legally, so let them battle it out through proper means instead of this mudslinging contest.

    • @Kendra, You gave me a different perspective. When I was reading a comment from a Korean, he or she said a lot of comments in the qoo and legitimate Korean articles are not happy with his conference and the way he presented his case. He or she even mentioned how some folks were watching his press con live at the lobby and they too were disgusted at his crocodile tears. But, sounds like Naver articles are defending him. At this point, I am not even surprised anymore if the ones who defend him are the ones he planted since there were rumors of that a week or two ago. When his press con was going live, I saw a lot of his fans posting in the live chat too supporting him. This Korean also brought up a good point. There is a legal trial and a public trial. He may win the legal trial but he may lose the public trial.

I also believe in KSR’s side more than him. From what I read, either the lawyer or the forensic team he hired specializes in these pedophile cases.

      • The comments have upvotes and downvotes of which upvote support for him are in the thousands. In many case thousands more than the ones against him. I’ve read too many Korean comments saying he has too much support which is disgusting etc. I didn’t see where the “too much” was coming from, but I’m seeing it now. Outside of qoo and the usual community sites, the general public might not have as skewered of an opinion against him as those who have accounts on social media. I’m more interested in what Disney does next.

As for the case itself, one again, I’m staying neutral. If he hired experts in this field, that’s his prerogative as the case itself is a defence against that very accusation. Nothing eyebrow raising there. The courts are there for a reason, and instead of watching more mudslinging and shit talking on both sides, I’d like for them to get out of the media battle and go through the legal one. I don’t need the hate dopamine, but would like the truth to come out even if it takes a while.

      • I dont believe this Kendra because I’ve been almost all Korean forums and even FMKorea, a male community site that was previously shielding him is mocking him now. Nate has a lot of trolls but also def not in his favor. You can see some here:

        https://t.co/iuJGhNRYJc

The only time the Korean public opinion was swayed when the husband story suddenly came out but after the kakaotalks 2nd presscon it definitely turned away from his favor and the presscon made it worse so not sure what Kendra is talkint about. Koreans are even signing the petition of Kim Soo Hyun act about raising the age of consent to 16-19 him having the face of pedophilia.

I can say that at the moment, Korea is disgusted at him after the presscon so dont believe Kendra she is a hopeful pedo stan for sure lol

      • @kendra, I think they’re probably planted commenters. I remember how naver made his first GM statement trended in top 3 but naver never made the family’s statement trend a week or two ago. There must be some manipulation done and I’m not surprised anymore by these upvotes

      • @pedooo, funny your user name! Why did you have to be so derogatory towards @Kendra who simply made very rational comments per her observations? Don’t get overexcited and let cyber speculations ruin your brain cells for reasoning! LOL. @Kendra had her points and I don’t see anything wrong there.

    • Unless Knock-off also contains the same controversial stuff that people want to exam and scrutinize – the sexual scenes, including the ones that likely exploited a now-dead idol/actress – I don’t think it’ll get watched with KSH headlining it. Also, the drama taking place during the financial crisis and how the main character was laid off and had to find a new way to make a living… would just remind people about how the financial piece of how he treated KSR. Disney may launch it without any promotion in a few years. Or maybe they can pull a River Where the Moon Rises and refilm all his scenes.

    • Please share because I’ve been around Nate, FM Korea, TheQoo, DCGal and even most reporters now in Korea are crucifying him so the heck are you lying about? Even Mom’s Cafe now turned back and everyone saying public opinion are turned but in 360 degrees.

The likes or dislikes favored to him are Koreans calling his part timers or keyboard warriors. And his articles even the Kakaotalk analyzer are being mocked. He says she says when there’s a countless of damning evidence vs his rebuttal of KKT analyzer, sure you are neutral lol

Korean articles even have headline now that public reaction are cold but of course you will make up like iits 50-50 LOL

Anyway truth it I spent my entire night and day now going around Korean, Chinese forums and I can say 90% are mocking him INTENSELY. You can lie through your teeth just how he did but its not the reality lol, its not 50-50 but 90-10 as 10 are his noisy minority minions. The press conference backfired at him badly instead of positively

      • Seriously, you’re a little jobless and pathetic to spend your days and nights on this🤡😂

Guess you missed an article then. One with 800+ comments and which trended #1 on most comments just yesterday. Or maybe you just read the 1st comment and didn’t bother reading several top 2k+ votes supporting him. Or… maybe you can’t understand Hangul. As a native speaker, I’m happy to translate btw so feel free to ask.
        https://n.news.naver.com/article/comment/008/0005173656

Maybe you should spend even more time to cover all articles. Get over yourself. You don’t know me, and never will. If you wanna think I’m not neutral be my guest. I genuinely couldn’t give a horse’s ass what some random on the internet thinks. I don’t need to prove myself to someone like you. However, the proof you don’t believe exists needs to posted which is why I even bothered responding. Learn some manners and etiquette when responding to strangers. Your username along with your speech shows your upbringing. I don’t like stooping to levels of some here and won’t, but damn. Go back to school.

    • another lie is that he didnt respond to all videos and pictures lol he only showed the kakaotalk analyzee shit that said he isnt the person she is texting which everyone is mocking him.

You’re acting as if you are neutral or even against him but I can see you hiding as a hopeful pedo stan lol

      • @pedoo,

Hi pedoo, can you share some of those links from Nate and FM Korea that you are referring to? Do you see those Naver upvotes Kendra was referring to?

Yes, on Chinese forums, he is being mocked intensely. That I can attest to since I check weibo all the time but I also read his agency has been paying weibo to silence members there from letting his news trend to keep the heat down.

    • @kendra how do you stay neutral given the letter he wrote to her when he was in the military, which his own agency has acknowledged was indeed written by him? he was 30 and she was 17 years old

    • Damn, are you on KSH payroll or do you just like playing pedos advocate? You and that Somebody being in the comments playing the neutral game is almost as embarrassing as his conference performance.

    • @Kendra, is it just 1 article that you are referring who seems to have a lot of upvotes or there are “tons” that reflect they are in support of him in upvotes and comments? I notice there is a writing statistics on that article you posted that show male vs female and there are more males. I think the Korean guys are supporting him. And, I don’t find that surprising.

I also saw some Korean articles bashing him too like calling his tears chicken poop.

Either way, I think he may still win the lawsuit since he has power and money and legal age at that time is different. A lot of people may go with what what the judge decides and thinks he is innocent if he wins the lawsuit. No matter what the lawsuit outcome is, I personally dont think what he did is morally right.

  4. Wow, he felt justified to LIE not dating her then later recant because it’s okay to sacrifice her. His sacrificed move will save the tv production and series.
So, he is not wrong dear fans. He will make the same decision.
And he doesn’t know anything about her debt whatsoever.
    Very sincere!

  5. This looks like it will be long and ugly for sure. He can cry and rant all he wants but the drama has only just begun. With lawsuits involved and all yah this sounds like the whole Blake lively mess which is the case that will never end pr wise till the trial unfolds. This feels similar in it does not look like either side will cease till they get their way.

  6. I kept waiting for him to express sorrow for the the late KSR… or at least express more personal good thoughts about her. None. He was so emotionally detached.

I bet it’s the agency partner aka cousin who wrote the script for him… it’s full of defensive statements. It would have been better if he didn’t appear and let the agency prepare a press statement. But one thing that he is right; by not demonstrating caring words for KSR, he failed as a human KSH.

  7. It’s for justice to decide . Now and it’s my own opinion the thing that i noticed first was ” the deceased” it was like he was speaking about “a thing” . His crying was excessive,…i didn’t feel any emotion coming from him … The more i read things the more i found him ugly in terms of looks . A kind of reverse of Dorian Gray ! And if he is innocent it will prouve that i was brainwashed by medias, papers…and i will feel ashamed of myself.

  8. @ockoala you are joining to online bullying, the same that resulted in so many deaths in South Korea, if the guy it is guilty will be determined by justice , not your blog. Her family and society it is equally guilty, a drunk incident it is not a big deal in America or USA, but this kind of article like your don’t help in change this online bullying problem. No more victims of this online harassment.

    • Oh PLEASE.

      Holding someone accountable ≠ bullying.

Bullying was when people like Kim Sae Ron, Sulli, and Goo Hara were harassed by pathetic losers online even if they didn’t commit any crime or did anything as heinous as what Kim Soo Hyun did. Stop being a braindead fangirl and USE YOUR BRAIN. Stop weaponizing the growing sentiment about how toxic cyberbullying/cancel culture is to shield your pe*do fave 🤡

      • Many visitors of this site DID bully KSR before her death cuz of similar negative publicity spread by SM, Koala’s Playground included. I’m a regular reader of her blogs and appreciated many drama updates from her. But gonna be honest, I do think Koala has talked too much of celebs’ gossips and fans got more excited about those juicy stories than drama updates LOL.

      • @kshfangirlsareclowns, his fans are so hypocritical. They say KSH is being cyberbullied. What makes them when they were attacking KSR back then?

    • On the contrary, her blog is showing bravery in the face of powerful men with money who believe that the lives of girls and women are disposable. Your comment reeks of misogyny. No matter what kind of family she comes from his behavior is no less reprehensible. Predators often seek out vulnerable girls and women for the very reason they are less likely to be believed if they come forward. The truly harmful comments are from people like you who are more interested in victim blaming than in holding powerful men accountable. I hope you find some compassion.

      • @Keturah
I’m sorry, I just couldn’t skip your first sentence.
“Showing bravery in the face of powerful men” – yes, this blog definitely showing bravery when makes multiple articles about Zhao Lu Si’s look and about gossips at the level “one fandom on weibo said that and that about actor K”. Or +7 articles about low ratings of drama WTSG. Which get way more comments than any positive drama articles.
Although I think Koala is better blog than some others, their articles are mostly rationally written, and articles about KSH are written here are mostly good informed. Some of the news they posting are serious, like KSH news. But some of them are simple gossips for views and clicks.
I answering only on your first sentence, I couldn’t just pass that praise out of nowhere, as if Koala’s blog suddenly become a face of feminism.
About everything after that first sentence I’m agree with you.
First person said about how bad cyberbullying is, next mentioned DUI case, although it has nothing to do with this article and scandal. It seems like they care not about cyberbullying as a big problem of our world, but only about cyberbullying of one concrete person, KSH. And if some other person would be bullied here, KSR for example, they wouldn’t care.

  9. Best Actor awards goes to:??

Anyway, it is important to know how he will sue each individual as the wording is important in each lawsuit. I really feel it will be a play with words. To accuse him of “pedo” “grooming” is wrong in eyes of the law. The law for age of consent was 13yrs…so ridiculously young before the new law recently increased it. Him winning based on those words used will not be unexpected.

Regardless, this drama will be dragged out long. And only he has money to throw into the lawsuits. It is facts of this world… her aunt and mum may have to suffer financial losses for rejected Kim Soo Hyun’s early attempts to contact them to nap this dram in the bud, they chose to be adult for Kim Sae Ron’s behalf, speaking out, getting KIm Sae Ron’s side of story out.

As for Kim Soo Hyun’s image, as long as the lawsuit is on going, I do not know how many Brands will successfully suit him for compensation. Again, that is down to how their contract were drawn out. To date a 15yr or 16yr girl is not illegal. So he did not do anything illegal. Thus there is no case to sue him.
Unless, he is guilty of other illegal activities, no one has a case against him.

This is shit but this is how real of the world works.

    • Best actor award? Really? I think I’ve seen better from him. He probably needs a better scriptwriter for the press conference. The thing about Korean law though is that he can sue for defamation and win even if what the family and YouTuber says is true. This case of he said, she said is ridiculous. I won’t crucify him yet, but honestly, don’t care to see him on screen anymore, especially as a romantic lead. His whole speech was quite egotistical. The tears did not work at all. The only people I feel really bad for is KSR and Sulli.

  10. Since he filed a lawsuit, that means the family will have to provide forensic evidence to prove their point. Sounds like he is challenging the family to do that too. I do hope the family wins but he emphasized how much the lawsuit cost and kind of makes me worried the family may not have that much money and it may end up winning

  11. Considering he was happily going on with his life on his bday (her death day) and the days after (the chats with his fans) without ever expressing sorrow for his ex-agency mate/ex-girlfriend’s passing, his excessive crying at the presscon seemed very manipulative. Gives me the creeps as if he’s some kind of emotionless sociopath.

  12. Welp! Fair for me to keep riding on the fence about he said she said and leave it to the court for judgment. That being said, I do think KSH’s star power is greatly diminishing. As I said before, there’re a large pool of up-and-coming young talent to take his position in the industry anytime he’s gone, and he won’t be missed much. This is one example showing snowballing effect of just telling lies once. If SKH and his agency had chose to disclose his relationship with deceased KSR while QoT was aired, and properly handled KSR’s debt problem, the consequence might not have been so messy to deal with.

    • @somebody, I am being a bit sarcastic here but KSH calls himself a star at the press and he thinks he is one forever one and his fans will think so too. lol…

      • That’s really funny! I’m not sure how his rabid fans had got all hubris galore in the past. His fandom is one of the most arrogant fan groups I’ve ever come across. Perhaps their idol’s overconfidence (if he indeed referenced himself as celestial existence) misled them into such outspoken arrogance. Yeah he might be once the highest paid K actor. But I’ve never considered him the best actor in terms of either acting or visuals. I used to say his acting in most of his hit dramas was somehow overshadowed by the more outstanding performance of his FLs even I loved him in Moon Embracing the Sun. In return his rabid fans bombarded me with vitriol and harassment pile-on. I still clearly recall those good fights. LOL. Honestly, I’m sorta feel relaxed to see his downfall not cuz I’d like to see him fail but it’s a blast to see his arrogant fans distressed, embarrassed, and hopefully humbled.

I myself may be critical of his fans more than himself at this point cuz as I repeated many times, I don’t want to have a final verdict on him outside the courtrooms. There have been too many cases proving cyber judges wrong. Nonetheless, it’s still comical that an actor referred to himself as a star. hahaha..

  13. Koala is joining the mob. It’s in the court now and we have just to wait and see. No need to sensationalize everything and k nets should stop harassing and cyberbullying him. Where are these people ” protecting” her now. When she was alive. there hordes of people cyberbullying her. Stop.

    • @jo, the law isn’t just in Korea. They favor the men and the one with most money. The chance of him winnng may be high but that doesn’t mean what he did is morally right.

  14. Whether it is legally right or wrong, whoever will win this battle, the facts of the case is, KSH is not a ‘good’ person most common ppl can relate to. Someone who can be so detached to another human being who was once a person you claimed to love and want to spend your life with, as what most couples do during their honeymoon period, even if you have broken up because of arguments or you have drifted off, or if love eventually turns to hate, when you get news that the person you once loved has passed away, you will naturally feel sad for the lost life. Even if you do not want to pay respect to that person, you likely won’t have the mood to be celebrating your birthday and be merry and happy, unless you only got the news after the celebration. You most definitely will not be suing the relatives of the person you once loved, because you would understand that their ire at you is more because you are still alive while their loved ones are no longer around.. that said, these celebrities are a special kind of humans. Or maybe ‘non-humans’ for some of these celebrities or wealthy ppl, who actually value money, fame and power more than life, love and relationships. Like he said, the celebrity-actor KSH had alot to lose, so he made those decisions which common humans couldn’t understand.

Given all that has happened, whoever wins or lose, one thing is certain, he can never play the romantic lead in a kdrama anymore. Because this will follow him for life. He can maybe still find psychotic antagonistic roles in movies I guess. But the innocent K-drama male lead who loves whole-heartedly? Hmm..nope..

    • I do not think he will be even able to go the Park Shi-hoo route, considering the decline of the KBS2 weekend soap opera. Had KSH’s scandal happened a few years ago, he could have used something like My Golden Life as a comeback vehicle. So yeah, no more goody-goody romantic leads for him in the near future.

My only wish is for him to be brought to justice, even if it is just civil liabilities, but I am not holding my breath. Cancellation is too kind for him.

      • Park Shi Hoo didn’t do anything too bad though.. He only had s*x. Given his celebrity status, more likely the lady wanted to gain some quick money from the one night stand. Plus, the lady wasn’t even a minor. It could be rape, or a consensual relationship, but we will never know what really went on between the 2 adults that night. A lady willingly hanging out with the guys at night, alone, drinking and flirting, is definitely not innocent. That said, I’m not a fan of PSH either, and he hasn’t have much roles in recent years as his age has likely caught up.. he isn’t really a handsome, young, leading male lead anymore.. there are more ppl in the industry who can better fit the role.

And the same goes for KSH after all these dramas. Even after he manage to win all the legal suits, at minimum he will need to take a break of 2-3years from acting, and even when he want to work, I doubt any director will offer him a romantic male lead role. And by then, he will be 40+, an old ahjussi, not of male lead potential anymore.. so, as much as his fans didn’t want to admit it, his career is really as good as finished. He will never reach the peak he had enjoyed before the scandal.

I guess it’s just karma. If he had treated KSR with more leniency, maybe she might not die, or even if she still did, maybe she won’t do it on his bday, maybe she won’t leave so suddenly and cause her family such grief that they had to seek revenge on her behalf, etc etc. it’s all cause and effect. So, let’s treat ppl around us kindly, and give help when we can.

      • @Bbq how is it that Park Shi Hoo “didn’t do anything too bad” when in the same paragraph you said “it could be rape or a consensual relationship we don’t know what happened”? You’re a joke. There is cctv footage of him carrying her unconscious on his back into HIS home. We might not know what really happened after but what we know is this: she could not have given consent that night. So how can he claim they had consensual sex? This makes it very likely that she was raped.

“A lady willingly drinking and hanging out with guys at night is definitely not innocent” – oh so she deserves to be raped? She’s just asking for it? Not the men’s fault they decided to rape her?
Sexual violence happens because someone chooses to use harmful behaviours, not because someone is wearing a certain item of clothing, said a certain thing, or was in a certain place. Your victim blaming is rooted in rape culture. People like you are the reason creepy predatory men feel justified sexually assaulting women. Disgusting.

  15. Wow every time he and his side come up with a response, it just digs the ditch deeper. The press conference idea was terrible. And now there is a bunch of irritating pics of him bawling. Whoever allowed him to go forward with it was either delusional too or really trying to screw him over.

    • I’m really impressed by the terrible job of his PR team, and his own actions. You think such popular and “big” star more knowledgeable than others about how to protect their image and how to handle things.
From the first day of the scandal their job was so terrible, I never worked as PR manager, but I can come up with multiple ideas of how to handle all of this better way.
I thought press conference would be a serious, providing facts and information. Not him crying for 40 minutes and describing his feelings. And bringing forensic results, I thought this forensic analyse would be a technical way, not psychological analyse, which, I respect this job, but I can’t think about it as a serious proof.
I don’t know how I would react at all of it, maybe I would cry too, but I definitely don’t think such press conference can convince people in his innocence. At least I’m not convinced.
If the court will happen, I hope it will be open court, and any person can watch what kind of evidences used there.

  16. “if i have to tell a lie again, i would” KSH
this lie , make Kim Sae Ron being harass all over the net
    and contribute to her death
So the translation of his statement is : “In order to save
my fame, i will tell a lie, even if it will kill another person”

  17. To be honest never found him convincing and buying his act as romantic lead or someone who sacrificed fr love. So when I watched his speech, and it just like his other performances in his drama. Insincere.

NOW why I’m not that suprise he is this cold? After what happened to sulli too. He is really lack empathy as human. Some allegation might be false. But his act during and after kim sae ron passing is really telling that he is a coldheart person.

  18. Perhaps with all that makeup on he actually is the “Queen of Tears” or perhaps “The Heartless Queen of Tears” !
    Oh Yes, Yoochun Part 2.
And what a self-indulgent pity party! Cry me a river, But lest we forget the true victims here…..
Everything seems off about this and whatever credibility he may have had left is blown out of this universe at least.
Some obvious serious indicators, the fact that he did not go to KSR’s funeral, the comments about meeting a 21 year old when he was 40.
So his plan was to enjoy his own youth and freedom until he was in his 40s and then enjoy the youth of a young girl into his 50s+
This is perhaps the most cataclysmic and self-destructive fall from grace in the history of K-Culture!

  19. Yet again, team no one. KSH is irredeemable in my eyes. Kim Saeron’s family is also sketchy. The journalists all have their own agendas. The only people I feel sorry for are the cast and production crew of Knock Off. They don’t deserve to have their work ruined by this trash.

  20. Classic narcissist. He is embodies all of it. He doesn’t even have. Single ounce of empathy. I’m so glad I never liked him even as an actor. I don’t even think he’s good looking. But man I feel sorry for sulli and Kim sae ron. One day maybe not in this life in death KSH will get what he deserves.

  21. Miley Cyrus, Mandy Moore, Lyndsey Lohan,Lily Rose Depp, etc., etc., had SEXUAL relationships with older men when they were 15/16, Angelina Jolie’s boyfriend moved in to live with her and her mum from when she was 14. Not sure how old he was.

In the Uk, until 2023, the minimum age for marriage was 16, when it became 18. One of the main pressures that brought about that change was because of the practice of forced and arranged marriages.

IF those earlier conversations are really between the two of them (KSH is claiming there is another man), while they could be interpreted as him grooming her, judging on the content, it would seem that their relationship hadn’t moved to physical/sexual at that point, so I would think that that is the argument he could ultimately have made for their not dating, then.

What actually is ‘dating’? And, how important is it when the relationship is not, or when it becomes, sexual? I think that it has to be made clear, because there is grooming and having sex. Dating is not an appropriate ‘crime’.

It seems, from the press conference, one of his biggest concerns is the linkage between him/his agency and the role the demand for payment of damages might have played in leading to her death. Hence the effort spent to claim that KSR and her agency CEO were told that she wouldn’t have to pay back the money. If she was still under the impression that she had to pay the money back then clearly that would cause a lot of stress. Plus she would feel betrayed/getting no support by/from a man who she had loved.

      • Sorry, I meant both ‘grooming’ and ‘sex’ as sex with a minor, both potentially a criminal offence, now in the UK, don’t know the situation in South Korea.

I quickly looked at laws on grooming in the UK, found this – “It is now a criminal offence (2017) for anyone aged 18 or over to intentionally communicate with a child under 16, where the person acts for a sexual purpose and the communication is sexual or intended to elicit a sexual response. The offence applies to online and offline communication, including social media, e-mail, texts, letters, etc..”

From what has been said, such laws weren’t in place in Korea at that time but yes, it would be useful to identify a) when the relationship became physical/sexual, b) whether these texts from KSH can be seen as grooming.

Of course, no way should KSH have been having this kind of relationship with a 15 year old, the fact that he is denying ‘dating’ a minor, claiming they didn’t date until she was of age, shows that he and his team know this. Which is also why I want to clarify ‘dating’.

  22. The crying felt performative—you can tell he was acting. When someone is genuinely crying, they instinctively wipe their tears; it’s human nature. But he deliberately let the tears fall, clearly wanting them to be seen, just like they teach in acting class. Also the dramatic pauses when he was talking lol. The whole press conference just feels too scripted.

    • Thanks. Perhaps the most objective analysis among all so far. I appreciate how it’s specifically done by SK attorney experienced in legal disputes in corporates and entertainment industry. Not sure how reputable this attorney is, but at least his arguments make a lot more sense to me than many speculations online.

I think lying in the past when KSR was still alive was a huge mistake that KSH and his agency have unwittingly done. Although I’m on the fence to judge KSR for grooming (either legally by the SK law or morally), I have very little sympathy for him to this point based upon the attorney’s analysis. It takes long to settle legal cases. But it probably won’t take long for him to entirely disappear from K-ent stages giving how the public opinions regard him as a person.

    • Thanks for that. I like the attempt at an objective, emotional/sensationalist-free analysis of the material out there. Several of my questions and thoughts were covered.

He mentioned that the two parties could have different perceptions about when the relationship started. She thinks they started dating on x date, he claims they started dating x years later. “Friendly” messages/exchanges equal what – just friendly messages, grooming, dating? Also, given that KSH is claiming that not all messages are his, that does need to be established/verified and quickly. If all of them are his messages then he’s lying, though I guess he could claim he has no memory of them. If they aren’t then well…

When addressing the ‘crime’ of possible grooming, the legal guy focuses on one conversation when KSR was around 16, that he says has a ‘sexual intention’. KSH –
“..When can I fall asleep holding you in my arms…” That was the message I had in my when I posted about current grooming law in the UK with regard to texting, etc.

I think he’s right about the financial aspect, and, as I said, she could well have felt pressured and betrayed by someone with who she had once had a loving/significant relationship with. He explored further about the moral responsibility for her death, where should be apportioned – KSH, the youtuber, media, anti-netizens, family, other relationships – ex-husband…

Imo, that letter demanding the debt repayment triggered a fair bit of what followed the frantic efforts at getting in touch, the posting of the photo when she couldn’t, the subsequent need to lie about the photo to protect Queen of Tears, then the harsh criticism. Sending it was stupid and callous if, indeed, they didn’t intend to follow through. They should have told er/the CEO BEFORE that that was the plan, not after.

Of course, vileness apart, ‘getting involved’ with a minor when you’re in you late 20’s, famous, in South Korea, is even more stupid. Do these people not think things through?

It does make you wonder how many more ‘stars’ are worried sick at this moment in time about their friendship/dating/romantic history coming out. Going forward there has to be changes, in so many regards – relationships, cyber-bullying, issue awareness, protection, etc., etc..

What I’m currently pondering is can he win the defamation law suit? I hope the legal guy does a video analysis on that, along the lines of this one.

    • Learned a great deal!
Made me think to ask if the dui is company related.
Was it event or business in nature?
      Hence the 70-30 reference.
But good points addressed by the lawyer

  23. @koala, I hope you will continue reporting future news about KSH and Garo if they have any new info. I read that his team has been bribing or using their connections and power to silence people on weibo and douban who have many followers and reddit from posting articles about Garo and his fans frame it that Garo is anti CCP. On top of that, his fans on X are also mass reporting accounts who are posting content from Garo too. They are trying hard to scrub the internet and not let the bad side of his stuff continue to trend. I just feel the more they try to silence people, the more suspicious they are. If they are innocent as they claim, they should not be afraid of these chatters.
