Wang Zi Qi and Lu Yu Xiao’s New Drama Serendipity Off to Okay Start But Gets More Buzz From Hilarious Blooper Left in Scene
So I tried watching Serendipity and made it all the way through episode 6 and feel no urge to continue. It’s just such a bland drama, with a low budget seen onscreen and leads Wang Zi Qi and Lu Yu Xiao not delivering at all. He looks terrible in this particular hairstyle and costume (way better in modern dramas) and she’s giving off not-female-lead vibes, makes me wonder if her rizz in My Journey to You was mostly her cool character and all the visual excess hiding her boring-ness. The only interesting character and performance so far are the second leads played by Wang Hong Yi and Gong Xue Er, so there’s that at least. This drama is making more news for a giant blooper scene where Wang Zi Yi is shown holding an electric handheld fan as he exits a scene. It’s so mega lol, reportedly this happens when the production editors use a blocking scene (where actors do the walk through) as the final scene. Oh wells, this isn’t a big budget or high expectation drama and is watchable still just nothing to write home about.
Ahahaha.
That’s an awesome blooper!
lmao that would have made me laugh IF I was watching xD I wont start until its completed.
I also saw Yang Shize’s post about calling fans off putting actors onto each other by comparing their looks…
Honestly, bland is the best word to describe it. So far, I watched until episode 3 and don’t have the urge to continue. I may keep going until another costume drama takes my attention. I’m really feeling the lack of currently airing C-ent costume dramas. Can’t wait until they release a good one!
Anything with amnesia is a pass for me
Me too..
It’s a snoozefest from the get-go. Yawn! zzzZZZZZ
It’s such a pity coz the novel is pretty good.
Looks like the lead actor is a miscast for ancient Chinese drama. Historical dramas are where audience who demand for good acting would suddenly change their minds when it comes to actors who look mediocre. Suddenly they want good looking actors as well.
So many negative reviews everywhere. I honestly have been enjoying this drama. So much that it’s the first thing I check first thing in the morning. The last drama which gave me this same feeling was Filter.
It doesn’t have The Double’s angst and fast pacing, but it’s a nice watch nonetheless. The actors did a good job playing their roles.
