Song Zu Er and Chang Hua Sen in Talks for Republic Era Period Romance C-drama A Zhi A Zhi
C-actress Song Zu Er, by a masterstroke of having two good dramas in the bank to air, has staged one of the best C-ent comebacks from scandal in recent memory. It also helps that she was a top flower of her generation before her scandal. She’s currently filming the period romance Biao Me Wan Fu but is looking at signing for her next role after. The drama that she’s likely going to do is a Republic era period romance titled A Zhi A Zhi (阿吱，阿吱) adapted from the same name novel with a soul transmigration element. The male lead in talks is Chang Hua Sen for the time being. The drama reportedly has a very strong screenwriter to do the adaptation who did Will Love in Spring and a lot of the changes the screenwriter did from the source novel in that drama were considered an improvement.
I dont know him…I find it hard to imagine he will be final selection. Until it is confirmed, I will just wait and see.
I am not a fan of Republic Era dramas but I have watched a rare few good ones.
I have seen a little of his acting in A Journey To Love, didn’t finish that drama though. I have to say he didn’t impress me back then.

oh boyyy I like him whole a lot BUT in costumes! I also prefer watching her in costumes. I wish they were a pair for a costumeeee T^T their visual and acting fits my CP understanding!
I recall CHS stole a bit of show from Liu Yuning in A Journey to Love. Personally, I prefer to watch him instead of the ML in AJoL. Nothing to do with how the 2nd ML was written in the drama but more cuz I was getting tired of LYN’s acting midway through Lol.
SZE needs specific styling to look pretty and she did look beautiful with certain styling as well as at the mercy of cameraman. Her acting is ok except for persistent deliver of her lines in whispers. lol
I’ll check out this drama. Who knows if it’s entertaining or not. I’m following Our Generation starring Zhao Jingmai and Zhang Linghe. Surprisingly, I’m enjoying ZJM’s new drama now given that she always failed me before. Perhaps SZE will surprise me in this new drama too.
Whyyyyy is it republic era!?!! I like him lol and he looks soooo good in period wear, and I love her, but republic era!?!!! He’s pretty good at “liking girls” on camera (even though some of it is in stalker mode hahaha), so I think they’ll have strong chemistry, but REPUBLIC ERA!?!! 😩😩😢 (also, it was the power of SZE’s acting talent… and a little bit of LYN’s lol… that brought her back). China lucked out!!
I’ve only seen him in supporting roles where his acting was inconsistent. I need to see him in his dramas from 2024 onwards to get a clearer picture. I like the way he looks when he wears hanfu though.
I’m not familiar with Chang Hua Sen either. I didn’t watch A Journey to Love and first heard about him through Koala. Since then, I’ve noticed he’ll be supporting to Gong Jun in the upcoming Tales of Dark River and to Cheng Yi in the upcoming Sword and Beloved. This will be quite a breakthrough for him if he ends up landing the male lead role.
Song Zu Er is having quite a comeback. I haven’t completely warmed to her just yet though. She does look good in costume with the right styling and I think her acting is ok. But she does give me a lethargic vibe sometimes and she loves the deer in the headlights look and incessant whispering.
This boy really popped out of nowhere a few years ago and now I see him in everything. It’s kind of random but I’m not mad about it. I’m a little bit biased because I do find him so handsome. He reminds me of Ao Ruipeng who I love. Song Zuer is fabulous. She’s one of the better post 95 actresses for sure and I love watching her onscreen. I definitely wouldn’t be mad at this pairing.
I dont have any questions in regards with Zuer acting since she is actually better than most of the overhyped actress these days, example the fl of first frost, dilraba, fl of legend of zang hai, legend of female general, I did dropped those dramas because they are so fucking annoying and they really need to learn how to express their fucking emotions, not just having a default look. As for the ml, well, I dont have anything yet to say, I might just wait for this drama if ever.
