Tencent Reportedly to Release More Episodes Faster for Period C-drama Moonlit Reunion with Xu Kai and Tian Xi Wei to End its Run Earlier
The scandal in recent days with C-actor Xu Kai has now reportedly impacted his currently airing C-drama Moonlit Reunion. Industry gossip says Tencent is planning to increase the episode releases for the remainder of its run, dropping more episodes and faster to wrap up the drama earlier. Xu Kai is embroiled in an ex-girlfriend Xu Li Sa hot tea spill where she alleges he came on to her, and after they dated he cheated on her with same agency actress Zhao Qing, and then ghosted her. This has basically put to a screeching halt any CP promos with Xu Kai and female lead Tian Xi Wei for MR at a time when the drama would benefit from the leads showing closeness offscreen as the romance aspect narrative increases onscreen. MR has been doing okay before the scandal, not hot buzz level so trying to build momentum now with more promo money is not a financially prudent decision. So now Tencent is ready to move on to the next series.
He is paying for cloud bookings out of his own pocket and trying to disguise them as fan purchases. It is amusing.
All the more considering WXY got caught with a gf too.

Not a scandal really, just photographed with the girl holding hands, not a celeb. IMO nothing wrong with dating and he isn’t cheating so it didn’t take off with everything else going on.

The baidu page claims the “gf” is 嘉嘉 yet when you click through onto her page – if it’s even hers – it states that her bf is 王星. So it could be a case of some serios confused identity. This girl is also well older than WXY – not that he can’t date someone almost 15 years older.
Again not denying that he hasn’t got a gf cos i’m pretty sure he does and they did talk about his ex in uni days when he blew up with the double, but this is really not it. It’s like a false nonsensical thing thrown about all the time in c-ent and picked up and spread around by international fans who don’t know better, don’t understand chinese and obviously can’t verify the sources.
Like pls let’s stop spreading crap we read on weibo or random sites, alot of these rumours and melons are plain fake and because the truth is so hard to pin down in chinese social media, u have all sorts of rumours created by bored and mentally unwell randoms in china. like pls.. this is a cast/crew dinner for the wanted detective. there are paps literally outside taking pics and videos of them entering/leaving – why would anyone bring their real life gf/bf to work dinners and hold hands in front of the paps lol. some common sense man. + it looks like 1 or both of them are holding their phones.
Your real life should be a blank canvas as much as possible to not interfere w/ your characters. otherwise, your project becomes a liability.
gee lol Im kinda sorry for Tian Xiwei BUT I cant really because Im really disappointed in script also acting at some parts… CP doesnt even have chemistry to begin with and now that gf ex gf chaos…
The drama started interesting but the plot got bland without highlights. TXW improved a lot. XK is just XK from drama to drama; his acting is one note just like his beautiful face that has never changed. LOL. I dropped the series after a few eps and have moved on to Kdrama again. C dramas of other actors I like such as Wang Xingyue, Li Yunrui, and even Arthur Chen all failed me this year. Good C drama is a matter of lottery probability. Rarely have I hit a jackpot. LOL
I hope tian xi wei rides the storms of her costars drama. Like what the heck is up with him being so lame and why does China have to let it impact a drama. It would be nice if these scandals could just wait to affect the actor personally and not the drama itself. Wishful thinking. 😆
Dropped after 2 episodes. Xu Kai’s forehead was a distraction its twice the length of everyone else.
