Period Wuxia C-drama A Journey to Glow Reportedly Jettisoning Original Leads and Recasting From Scratch with Lu Yu Xiao and Zhou Yi Ran
So the online negative commentary around C-actress Yu Shu Xin earlier this month will indeed impact her next C-drama. She was confirmed for the wuxia period drama A Journey to Glow, the companion next project to C-drama A Journey to Love. The male lead was not yet confirmed but by all accounts it was going to be Wang An Yu who signed on already. But when the negative publicity, he reportedly declined and the production was planning on finding another male lead quickly or at least start filming this month with just female lead Yu Shu Xin first. But the filming was postponed shortly thereafter and now comes word that the production team has decided to start from scratch with the leads, and the drama is now going to Lu Yu Xiao and Zhou Yi Ran. This is indeed a setback for Yu Shu Xin but knowing her strong financial backing she will likely be fine in the long run after this brief stumble.
Well, cool. Hoping this gives Esther’s dad another reason to invest his daughter into another good drama project, like in LBFAD haha. Then these haters can suck it. Anyone who knows me online know I support Esther as an actress. So now I’m just waiting for her comeback, similar to Zhao Lusi.
No loss to Esther but a huge loss to the project. She was chosen first because she fits the role (and she HAS gotten rejections before for roles) and now with this negative publicity, who knows how the reception will pan out.
What a year. Two hottest actresses are out of the game. And while im not a fan of Bailu, i understand she’s very popular and she’s taking a break too. So that makes 3. This gives up and coming actresses more opportunities i suppose
Is her father going to build a new platform for her to broadcast that then?
Because I hate to break it to you but if there is some kind of soft ban on her, no platform will show it. And it looks like that there is something right now.
She did not commit a crime. She has alleged scandals. Investors are only spooker. If Xu Kai can climb back up, so can she. He got a soft ban, too. Now he’s back on the radar.
You are misinformed then. There is no ban on ysx. Her next drama Speed and Love will air on iqiyi this year. However, there are a lot of malicious rumors surrounding her, and I can understand why ajtg postponed the filming. Just look at the case of Jun Ji-hyun and her drama tempest to understand how C-nets can cause significant damage without a real cause.
At this point there are so many rumors about this drama it’s impossible to know what will actually happen. When this drama actually goes into filming we’ll see who the cast is. It might be months before that happens.
If this is true, then it’s definitely an upgrade for me to watch since both casts are known for their acting skills.
Yu Shuxin is mediocre at best, and Wang An Yu honestly makes it painful for me to finish a drama. His acting just gets on my nerves.
This seems false. These two were just previously rumoured for the upcoming drama “Immortalis” before another male lead was rumoured. Seems people are just throwing names around.
Yu Shuxin will be back on top real soon. Big deal. Speed and Love looks amazing.

YSX is terrible at acting, no clue why anyone likes seeing a nearly 30 year old woman pout and talk through her nose like a 5 year old. I’m so glad to have LYX instead, she’s a decent actress.
In my opinion her acting was awful in Lovegame and in “Ski into love” something like that. Girl was overacting to the highest
I always think she always overacts. LOL. Given that she’s not beautiful either, there’s nothing I can root for her. On top of that, her being a nepo baby worsen her negative impression on me. It’s legit for me to put her in my unwatchable blacklist.
Tbh, I think her popularity is fake or bought. Sure, she does have fans, but not as what appears. The joke is that her fans are school kids. That’s why despite 2 hit dramas, she doesn’t have many endorsements as compared to Zhao Lusi.
That would make sense for her fans to actually just be kids. Love Game in Eastern Fantasy completely felt like a children’s show.
Of course zls is more popular. She acted alongside wu lei, yang yang, dilireba. while in the case of ysx she makes her ml popular
Is someone terrible at acting if there is no range between roles?
Then yes, she probably can’t act.
But so far, she seems to be casted for the nearly same role over and over again: the cutie with more or less brain. Plus the additional childlike voice. And these roles she acts and executes on point. Currently I am rewatching Moonlight and she is charming in her role.
It will be interesting, if she ever takes on a role that vastly differs from her previous work, how she will master the character. Perhaps she will surprise us all.
