Xianxia Romance and Plotting C-drama Love in the Clouds with Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yu Xiao Confirmed for October 8th Premiere on Youku
It’s going to be a busy next week, the first full week of October 2025 with the C-dramas available. Love’s Ambition should be wrapping up, Fated Hearts will be on the full airing swing of things, Yummy Yummy Yummy will drop October 9th, and now we have another confirmed addition with xianxia C-drama Love in the Clouds arriving on October 8th. Starring Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yu Xiao, this is a classic enemies to lovers and double cross plotting set up with the leads trying to seduce/fall in love with each other for their own purposes. I like the primary color visuals, no pastels and color explosion, or too many dongles in the hair here. This will be the only xianxia on deck for the time being so check it out if it’s your preferred genre, I find Hou Ming Hao’s face a bit distracting but he has a nice soft gentleman with a steely core vibe onscreen and Lu Yu Xiao is still awaiting her next leveling up after her small breakout in My Journey to You was followed by two unimpressive acting performances in mid dramas for her.

I do have a soft spot for Hou Ming Hao so am looking forward to this!
I think her past debut as a main lead in dramas were underwhelming due to the scripts being so lackluster. Her acting is still good. It just seems tough to ride the wind of success when the latter falls through. She is more popular than when she started out. Hopefully this drama helps elevate her a bit more.
Traditional dramas are boring, Love’s Ambition wins drama of the year already
There are afew experiences actors who look good and have acting skills, but I just dont warm to them. I dont dislike them but their acting does not touch me. Li Qin is one and Hou Ming Hao is another.
To each its own..
The plot seems kinda generic, nothing special. Neo looks too pretty. Younger audiences will probably like it.
Lu Yu Xiao has been doing pretty well with her variety of roles since she debuted. Even if this is a lead role, I worry this on the tails of Serendipity may be a step back. The premise seems overtired.
Still, I like LYX and Hou Ming-hao (even though he’s a bit uneven), so hope this does well.
There are many supposedly hot(!) couple scenes but I couldnt even feel any bit of chemistry between them. I like checking both of their dramas whenever they have new costume dramas released so I will watch it but cant really say Im interested in story or couple itself…
