C-drama Night Wanderer Finished Filming Scenes with New Male Lead Fu Xing Bo to Replace Cancelled C-actor Deng Lun and Drama Should Air in 2026
There are bigger budget C-dramas on the shelf due to cancelled lead(s) longer than Night Wanderer but it’s still nice to see this will see the light of day. C-actor Fu Xing Bo was tapped earlier this year to replace cancelled male lead Deng Lun, with him filming his scenes against a green screen and will be AI-faceswapped into the drama. This would have been a big release for iQiyi at the end of 2022 but for Deng Lun’s tax evasion scandal and it’s unfortunate for female lead Ni Ni to become collateral damage with a promising project shelved. Now Fu Xing Bo is all done filming his scenes towards the end of summer and the production is nearly finished with post-production work, and word on the street is that the drama will be submitted for approval in early 2026 and should air shortly after receiving the green light.
That’s still pretty long compared to a few other dramas. And meanwhile I’m still waiting for Liu Yifei’s The Love of Hypnosis.
Wow I had no idea they were refilling for this. I was thinking how the old trailer seemed interesting and what a shame.Hope it works out somehow.
Wow this was one I hoped would be saved with Deng Lun in it. I’ll still watch it, but both actors give different vibes. The chemistry between Deng Lun and Nini in the original trailer is the kind of chemistry I wish all dramas could achieve with their pairings. The two look like the pairing of a classic leading man and leading lady with both having that movie star aura. I hope Fing Xing Bo did a good job since I’m still looking forward to it. I heard there was going to be a Korean remake. Park Bo Gum’s name was thrown out there, but given the original trailer, I could totally see this drama with Gong Yoo and Jun Ji Hyun.
For what reasons such a handsome good actor like DL should be cancelled? Cancel CCP high-up including Xi family instead who have been stealing taxpayers Yuan through shady businesses inside and outside China !!! LOL
