The filming kick off for this drama slipped by a month from December now into January next month, making it a nice way to start off the new year in 2026. C-ent insiders are saying that filming is confirmed to kick off mid-January in a few weeks for romance modern C-drama Confession (or Gao Bai) starring Wang Xing Yue and Deng En Xi. It’s a college era story that spans into adulthood as the female lead nurses a crush that remains unrequited until the male lead falls for her harder when they are all grown up. The novel this is adapted from is reportedly very beloved and delivers on that school age era secret crush to fulfillment vibes. The leads are also super age appropriate so I’m looking forward to what’s in store.
Nobody cares about WXY anymore? So, this is how an up and rising actor will end up after taking crappy script after crappy script with just one breakout hit! Considering how many fangirls confessed to lose sleep over him for the Double (according many online chit chats lol), now does he look like a fluke given so many other promising peers emerging too?
I don’t think it’s wise to judge an actor’s popularity by the number of comments on Koala’s personal entertainment blog.
As far as I know, WXY isn’t well-known among Western C-drama fans, who tend to focus mainly on highly popular “traffic” actors. I’ve honestly never seen a Western C-drama fan show interest in anyone who isn’t extremely famous. It reminds me of K-pop fans who ignore any group that isn’t their own and act as if no other groups exist beyond their favorites—the culture feels the same.
WXY is only 23 years old and still has plenty of time to turn things around in his life. If you’re so quick to want to end his career, why are you still living past 30 without achieving anything yourself?
