Tencent Releases First Poster of Period Romance C-drama The Road to Glory with Zhang Ling He and Lin Yun
I think this drama just started filming a few weeks ago but with Valentine’s Day last week everyone and their mother’s released a couple’s poster so we get an early first look at Tencent period romance The Road to Glory. Starring Zhang Ling He and Lin Yun, I love him and am so allergic to her and wish I can replace the female lead with a control alt delete but alas this cannot be done. It’s okay, this is his first big male lead top billing project and if he can deliver it will at least cement all the work he’s put in with the nonstop dramas he’s been doing for the last four years. In terms of visuals, C-netizens are liking the hair and costuming for him in this drama and me too, he’s less polished and more rugged and me like very much.
She is very pretty but unfortunately bland as a lead. I liked her in a Dream of Splendor though. But I did not realize this drama was so big for him. I figured the many marathoned dramas he had done would have been big though. Guess not. 🤷🏻♀️seems him and the veteran actors will be leading the show because that is what usually happens in these type of dramas.
I like both so I’m excited!

Having just finished “Story of Kunning Palace,” I was blown away by ZLH’s riveting, brilliant performance. He carried one of the best historical dramas in the last few years. I was appalled to hear he apologized to some viewers for being so intense or scaring them. I started catching up on his other dramas, but SOKP is where he’s mesmerizing with such a strong, darkly brilliant character. Looking forward to all his dramas this year and hope he’s able to at least immerse himself in another significant role.
Lin Yun has more acting talent than Zhang Ling He. However, like Fang Yi Lun, she is not fortunate with either the scripts or the characters she plays.
