Filming Kicks Off for Youku Period Romance Sea of No Return with Li Yun Rui and Liu Xie Ning
So it’s off to the races for Youku big budget period C-drama Sea of No Return (Chinese title Gui Liang Chen 归良辰). Starring Li Yun Rui and Liu Xie Ning (Sally), filming started this week and the first promo posters are out as well. I quite like it, especially Li Yun Rui’s intense and assertive visuals and pose. I feel like he’s still stuck as the smart scholar image for me from Love Like the Galaxy especially since I didn’t watch Blossom but his most likely to air next drama Rebirth the sequel to Princess Agents will be the first of his dramas I watch with this warrior fighter type character. Expect a few months to shoot this drama so it’s likely an early 2027 release.
His role in Blossom is so different and I feel you would like it. So shocked you have not seen it. Totally different from Love Like the galaxy. Probably his best role so far because other roles he has played seem more or less the same but Blossom just stood out so well.

Despise is a strong word and I have remained cordial, even if what I have written is not a compliment. The actors you are referring to are either more popular or more good-looking than Li Yun Rui, but in terms of consistency in their acting, they are behind him. Should I name names? LOL.
I’ll check it out. So far among all his dramas as a leading man, only Blossom worked for me. Nonetheless, I’m anticipating Princess Agents’ sequel more than his other dramas cuz I think he has an interesting aura to fit that role better than other types of characters.
Is it just me or is he being overused. He is in every single post for every mentioned upcoming dramas. I like him but he is becoming likr Xue Kai or Hou Minghao, totally overused.
that’s how the industry works tho. and whoever has the opportunity to take advantage of it will do so because as others have mentioned, people including viewers are here because of the numbers.
even viewers in the west do that talking about rankings, billings and blah blah.
Li Yun Rui is a decent actor anyway.
