Studio Dragon Produced J-dorama Version of Marry My Husband with Koshiba Fuka and Sato Takeru Gets Strong Reviews and Will Air on tvN Network
It’s only been a year and a half since the Korean drama Marry My Husband became an unexpected hit. The production company Studio Dragon went ahead and produced its own J-dorama version (rather than license it to Japan) which recently premiered exclusively on Amazon Prime. The new version stars Koshiba Fuka and Sato Takeru, and on the male lead alone it’s a billion times upgrade IMO Takeru is god level for me in acting and charisma lovelovelove him. The early reviews are really good, loving the dorama for differentiating with the Japanese vibes and pacing from the K-original. Now tvN will also air it on television Sunday nights in South Korea as another sign that Asian entertainment keeps crossing streams and morphing in content and platforms.

I am waiting to watch this…my one of my favourite Jdrama actor.
Takeru Satoh kills it. I mean, he dominates every scenes he is in and am very sorry to Na In Woo for having Takeru stepped into this role because Takeru is superior not only in term of acting prowess, charisma and not to mention 1000x hotter. I love that the J-version is in fact an adaptation of the webtoon and not a remake of the K-drama. Also read that it was actually planned even before the K-version (which was released earlier), thus we can definitely see to be superiority in term of the quality from the more carefully planning of the J-version. Loving it so much.
But only 10 ep. Does it do justice to the quality if jap dramas?
Jdrama are always between 10 to 12 ep. Just the right length and by end of ep 1 usually sets up the background and story.
Really love the main actors more than Korean version . Both are charismatic and better in acting . Japanese version seems to be original one as it has all the elements…. Good looking ceo with cute actress. Hope this Japan version gets season 2 . Hail to takeru actor
I have seen the first four episodes and I find the Korean version superior in all ways, especially acting. But it is watchable so I will finish it. As long as it is fun, it doesn’t have to be amazing.
ML and FL lead are giving the right vibe. They’ve adjusted the reactions to what is more Japanesque — little exaggerated [EH?!!!] expressions, and little lest of the cutesy side glances. The JDorama is also a bit compresses as not much flashbacks [so far…]. I am just waiting if I will get upset at the secondary characters as much as with the same characters in the KDrama
Subscribed to Prime juuuuust for Sato Takeru. He acts with his eyes….love him so much. Pacing quite ok and love how the drama brings in the Japanese elements like sweets etc.
I was a Japanese dorama fan about 15-20 years ago. What I find interesting is that now a lot of the male leading actors are still around getting top billings, but only a few of the female actors from back then are still around, replaced by new faces
There is fuss about Sato Takeru’s beauty but he looks ordinary to me. In fact, to date, I do not find any Japanese actors attractive except for Takeshi Kaneshiro and Koshi Mizukami.
As his fan, I too dont think he is a beauty… but he has screen presence and his eyes can act. Lookwise, There are other more handsome J-actors.
What I do like about japan dramas is, there are a number of good actor who may not look very good looking but they can carry the roles well. Kento Yamazaki is not bad looking but a amazing actor, Jun Matsumoto is cute and he has a distactive acting style. I do find Tomohisa Yamashita attractive.
I love Japan’s vision in movies, but no so much when it comes to dramas as I find them to be cartoonish. I’ll be checking this one anyways.
Japanese version has a lot of old people pretending to be young. It’s irritating. How hard is it to hire young, good-looking actors? Why don’t they understand that old people are not striking in acting?
