Kim Moo Yeol Shares that Hoobae Heo Nam Joon Texted Him Thrilled for Their Mutual Success with Recent Dramas Teach You a Lesson and My Royal Nemesis
Awwww, what a great story to share and makes me love these two even more. K-actor Kim Moo Yeol is having a huge career leveling up this week after his K-drama Teach You a Lesson has turned into a hit on Netflix. It’s gotten predominately great reviews and is topping the international show chart on Netflix in dozens of countries. During an interview this week he shared that fellow actor Heo Nam Joon, himself having a career leveling up with the popular romance and time-travel drama My Royal Nemesis, texted him a crying congrats emoji recently. Heo Nam Joon wrote “A day like this, for us too?😭” implying both of them did well and he’s so moved since both have been working for years as antagonist or supporting and second male leads the majority of their career and to have this breakthrough at the same time feels even better. They worked together in the second season of Sweet Home and before that both attended Sungkyunkwang University in the theater department though not at the same time as Kim Moo Yeol is older by a decade, but both refer to each other as sunbae and hoobae. This feels like a case of the hardworking good guys winning in the same of much deserved recognition over the trendy flower boys that can’t really act which K-ent wants to make happen all the time.

After watching Heo Nam Joon in My Royal Nemesis, I finally get why I’m so critical of Chinese actors with unappealing visuals. If those C-drama leading men don’t look attractive, they usually can’t act either — so what is there left to root for? lol. While HNJ’s looks don’t immediately stand out, I’m sold on his acting. I’m having a blast watching MRN!
K-dramas have been killing it on Netflix, with several titles landing in the global Top 10. Even the slightly flat Sold Out on You has stayed on the charts for seven weeks — proof that great acting truly matters! Among these top Netflix K-dramas, I just finished The Wonderfools and I’m so glad I did. It started off with quirky narratives that didn’t really vibe with me, but it got better and better as it went on. Fortunately, Cha Eun Woo did an OK job and didn’t ruin the show. lol. I’d still recommend this series to anyone into the superhero, action, or fantasy genres!
Kim my yeol got shout from job cena. Show has entered top ten of usa too. His international profile has risen. Happy for him
I dont think heo nam joon is well cast in that series. He feels more gangster vibe than elegant handsome rich man. Sorry but he doesnt have that grace.
